My Surgery is June 13th. So, I was then assigned Trevor to be my post surgery in-home PT. I waited for literally weeks to hear back from Trevor, who was to be my PT for in-home care post surgery. When Trevor did call back weeks later, It was to say that he was leaving the company and therefor unable to be my PT. This after my leaving multiple messages with the front office(and one message for him in person with the company OT). Also, I was notified of Trevor's leaving with less than 1 week out from my surgery date. It's great too since we only use what I have, so I have less excuses for not doing the exercises ;) I have a bulging disc and pinched nerve and wasted four sessions with another PT who was no help. I learned great stretches and exercises the first time Ben arrived at my house. He is very knowledgeable and provides great guidance and instruction on how to improve things like posture. I learned a lot of stretches and strengthening exercises over a few sessions. Ben was always on time and is super nice and personable. I had a knee replacement over a year ago and experienced previously poor results in obtaining both…read morea desirable range of motion (ROM) and regaining lost strength in the knee. Previous PT at another provider was insufficient to resolve these problems and I felt like the PT provider tried to persuade me to live with these extreme limitations. PT has been progressing well at Westside PT and I'm particularly pleased with the results that I've seen from their Biodex Isokinetic Dynamometer. In an extremely well controlled and measurable structure, I have slowly begun to increase both my strength and ROM, both of which I have been unpleased with from my previous progress. I especially like that I have agency to control how much I push myself instead of relying on the PT provider to arbitrary set those limits. You may want to consider this as an option for knee replacement patients especially if you are experiencing an insufficient return of ROM and strength. It is also highly recommended, by myself, for those that appreciate seeing a well organized, measurable structure to PT. It is still early days and I intend to continue PT for many more weeks but the progress has been both measurable and transformative. I refuse to believe that I must live with the inadequate results of my previous PT failure and this place is helping me to achieve what I know is possible.

Then one day it's like someone flipped a switch, they stopped checking in on my progress, didn't really acknowledge me when I was there, they would have one of the new hires deal with me, wouldn't even say hi anymore. There was one time I canceled a couple weeks do to health reasons & when I called to reschedule my usual 2 days I went aparently they only scheduled me for one of the days so when I showed up a second time that week on my typical day & time, I got scolded by Sophie that I "can't just show up" when I don't have an appointment. She was very rude. Then they quickly dropped me saying they're not going to be accepting my insurance anymore. They had Sophie relay the message instead of telling me themselves. At that point I was not feeling welcomed anymore so I just let it go. Very disappointed in the way things ended. I expected more from them because I know they are good people with a great practice.

Over 4 years ago I contracted a chronic, crippling disease called Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR.) I returned for the PT I needed to start functioning better after being extremely ill for many months as my PMR was starting to remiss. I had had a great therapist when it was still Advance Sport and Spine so I started appointments with her again. She had previously successfully treated several other very difficult issues over several years and taught me how to maintain the progress. However, the new owners (FYSICAL) had a policy that therapists could treat only one condition during a visit. The FYZICAL visits were also 5 min shorter, from 45 min to 40 min. Since I had many areas of pain (poly means many), it would have taken years at the rate we were going to deal with all my joint and connective tissue problems. So on the advice of my MD I started a senior fitness class at 24Hr Fitness in Gladstone. I am so happy I found a more successful program. After 3 mos of attending 2-1hr, sessions/week (*with a few missed due to holidays and travel), I realized one day that for the first time in a long time, I could actually stand up from a chair w/o using my arms. I also noticed that my balance was improving. Now I'm 1 year in and despite the extensive damage I suffered, I have improved in virtually every area that was formerly troublesome. I don't understand the policy of only allowing one treatment per visit as I had made such good progress before for equally serious issues. The FYZICAL visits were also 5 min shorter, from 45 min to 40 min. I am so happy I found a more successful program, however I do miss my previous therapist. Walked out with at least a 30% improvement and was able to walk around the parking lot for about 5 minutes without pain. She was very skilled and experienced, and helped me understand her thinking process along the way... as if we were a team. Very grateful for care this good!
