I was impressed with Dr. Sacon and her office…read more The office waiting area has a very unique feeling to it - not quite to formal as many doctor,s offices where you couldn't tell one from the other. Staff were kind and friendly. I walked into the office with 25 years of problems built up plus a recent report from and ER visit to help the doctor with her exam. From the first hand shake Dr. Sacon was watching how I walked, checking the weight of the purse I carry, she herself walking backwards to her office as she lead me there. Already I had a feeling that I was going to like her - already I did not feel like a number. We discussed my issues and when/how they came to be and decided where to begin the focus of treatment. During her first treatment on the back, she also noticed another condition that might exist in my body's chemistry and we are treating me like I have it to see if my body responds which is part of normal diagnosis for it. I found it a fascinating catch and did match symptoms to which regular doctors had simply said "I don't know" to and then sent me out their doors. I was also given some beginning exercises to work on to begin rehab. I am not a simple case and it will take time to address various issues and I will have to do my part in this. If you don't do the work, don't expect the result. Dr. Sacon tells you the truth of what she sees and thinks can be treated, and doesn't lead you on with miracle overnight fixes. For some, overnight fix might be all they need as others, like me, are more complex in their build-up and cause of injuries. The doctor also does not force a schedule on you allowing you to determine what works best for you and your own busy life. By a couple days after first actual manual treatment on my low back, I actually noticed the overall pain in it was reduced. Honestly wasn't even expecting that. I will be staying with Dr. Sacon and her great attention to detail for a while to see what kind of progress we can make.

I gave this Quack medical reports showing objective proof of injury and showing that I am a surgical candidate for my left shoulder. I have a left elbow flexion contracture since 2012 due to a triple crush on my ulnar nerve and this Quack in the first ten minutes thought she could straighten my left elbow. She reported that she straightened my left elbow in which she did not! I would straighten my own damn elbow if it were not frozen at 45*. I was a fool to let her touch my left arm. I also suffer with  a HAGEL lesion on my left shoulder. A tear from ten to 3 o clock and this Quack ignored this fact and ignored my MRI arthrogram while pulling on my left arm anyway so hard I felt my shoulder rip down to my middle back on my left side. I ended up in the emergency room that day in horrific pain and I have been in horrible pain in my left elbow and shoulder under my left shoulder blade down my back next to my spine ever since causing me to see my primary doctor twice for this injury. Moreover, because I am on worker's comp this medical Quack thinks she can ignore the 32 current medical reports that I gave her and she even doubted that I was telling the truth about my accepted conditions. Traveler's insurance drug me through court for four years even with objective proof of injury. I have suffer horribly with these injuries so I do know what the hell my accepted conditions are. This Quack expressed doubt about my accepted conditions as if I would lie about this to her. She expressed that she did not believe me. It was a painful, humiliatingly and abusive experience.  Not a good way to start a doctor patient relationship and she even invited me back. There is no way in hell that I would return.  So I do not recommend this doctor for any patient with serious injuries on worker's comp or not. Beware!

I had (left) knee surgery in February for torn cartilage this year and felt mostly rehabilitated…read more I had a decent Physical Therapist elsewhere and they helped me get my left leg strengthened again but I never felt 100%. I still had a limp with stiffness in the knee joint after sitting for long periods of time. I figured that's just the way I would be for the rest of my life. I started experiencing pain in my right knee several weeks ago that started to impact walking. I was limping more severe and in pain. I found PDX Bodyworks though Yelp. Shawn squeezed me in for a same day appointment the day I called and managed to figure out rather quickly that my SI joint was the culprit in my knee pain as my hips were not aligned. A quick adjustment and most of the new pain in my right knee was gone! Shawn taught me how to adjust my SI joint myself and I made a follow up appointment the following week with Greg. I've been going in for physical therapy once a week for the past 4 weeks and I'm feeling significantly better and moving better than I have in awhile. I felt like my first bout of PT didn't address some of the structural issues I was having and focused mostly on strength. My old PT had told me that there would always be some level of pain. Shawn & Greg at PDX Bodyworks have given me tools (stretches, adjustments, exercises, etc.) to address the source of the pain as well as the confidence that I can get back to my original post-surgery level of fitness without hurting myself. Before I ever became a patient, I went in in person and made it very clear: check my insurance first. I told them if my insurance covered the visits, I would move forward. After over a week, they contacted me and confidently told me my insurance was verified, that I would only pay $25 per visit, and that I was covered for 10 visits per year. Based on THEIR confirmation, I agreed. Now I am being hit with monthly bills out of nowhere. Here are the facts: I already paid $50 out of pocket My insurance was charged $602.66 I then received an additional bill for $205.56 No clear explanation. No warning. No transparency. I have called multiple times, left voicemails, and tried to resolve this like an adult. No one calls back. No one takes responsibility. No one follows up. The complete lack of professionalism and accountability is shocking. Even worse, their own website lists: New Patient Chiropractic (60 min): $200 Chiropractic (30 min) So how do you justify charging insurance over $600 for a basic visit? This feels misleading at best and unethical at worst. If they had been honest from the beginning, I would have never agreed to treatment. Instead, I trusted them to verify my insurance correctly--and that trust was clearly misplaced. This experience has been stressful, frustrating, and infuriating.
