Originally we were looking for something along the lines of pasta and salad but then we found Sugar's! My family is big on meat as my dad is a meat cutter as well as my wife. Lots of tastings and great historical facts along the way. - The soaking pools at night were perfect to relax muscles right before bed plus no kids after 8pm. - This hotel doesn't revolve around children. The movies that were showing were rated R and most of the pubs and pool hall are 21+. Kids are welcome - but I've never seen that many kids around which I like, personally. - It's very Dog Friendly!! - The live music is incredible. I've been here for big concerts on the lawn plus mini concerts down the winery hall. They were all amazing. - It can get noisy between 7-11pm especially in weekends! The building is old - not sure about insulation and things! Bring some earplugs, a positive attitude and maybe enjoy an extra drink! Or go during the week for a quieter experience. - The food is a bit pricey but if you are doing the passport it makes a little more sense. I highly recommend visiting after 8:00 PM when the pool becomes an 21+ area. * Thoughtful Details: The robes provided were high quality and very comfortable. Pro-tip: Be sure to bring flip-flops for the walk to and from the pool area. * Art & Dining: The murals throughout the hotel are fascinating to look at. We also had great experiences at the on-site bars and the Black Rabbit Restaurant, where both the food and the service were excellent. The Room & Stay Quality ​We specifically booked a room with a private bathroom and shower. However, most rooms at this location utilize communal facilities. Unfortunately, our room was located very close to the shared bathrooms and lavatories. Due to a complete lack of etiquette from other guests using those facilities, it was extremely noisy throughout the night. Because of the poor sleep quality and the noise levels, we likely won't be staying here again. It's a beautiful property, but the layout and noise issues made it difficult to fully enjoy our birthday celebration.

Beautiful view of the waterfront but the docks do take up a lot of space in your photo if you're trying to get a water shot on the balcony. It would be nicer if there was more water to view rather than docks and boats. The place is very clean and has a very modern feel. The acoustics were terrible. The entire time we were there, I was shouting to speak and had to lean in each time to speak to anyone. This place is so spacious and little conversations accumulate into a big echoey mess. Pair that with event music, utensils clattering and you get a jumbled mess of sounds. The flooring is also just pure concrete so that didn't help. There was little in the form of sound dampening. The venue is two levels with restrooms being single room washrooms on the first floor. Though the view is nice from the second level, my personal opinion is that a single level is best for any venue so that guests (such as myself) don't feel torn from the event and have to choose between mingling between floors. Ample private parking lot.

Their entire operation was clearly well organized, planned, and detailed. Every individual employee I interacted with was respectful, friendly, helpful, and professional. I was thoroughly impressed that no detail was ignored. An example: The dinner tables each had a set of decorations involving a mirror. Catering Beyond Borders had window cleaner, paper towels, and rubber gloves for each employee to wear while handling and wiping down the mirrors, in order to be absolutely certain that every mirror was spotless for the display. I know this sounds like a small thing, but I feel it is attention to all of these small details that added up to a superb event. The wedding planner, Esther, was a fantastic organizer and coordinator. Any time one of us had a question, she had the answer. When necessary she would not hesitate to delegate tasks to someone else on the team. She was also exceptionally calm and collected throughout the entire process. The lead bartender, Kyla, was knowledgeable, professional, and flexible with the provided beverages. We had a unique scenario for a few of the kegs as they had a different type of connector than the industry standard, and she took it all in stride and there were no problems. I have been a bartender for a number of years in my past and I was thoroughly impressed with Kyla and the other bartender's efficiency and professionalism behind the bar. I did not personally get a chance to meet the head of the kitchen staff, but I did witness him constantly communicating with his team and keeping everyone on schedule. The food itself was also wonderful and there was plenty to go around - many other guests mentioned to me that they also sincerely enjoyed the food. To reiterate, I am completely and thoroughly impressed with the entire Catering Beyond Borders organization and their professional skill and talent for catering and coordinating my sister's wedding.
