We recently used Busy Bee for an anniversary/slash birthday party for about 80 guests. I cannot speak highly enough of Dani, who was prompt in response, very friendly, and professional. I really had no idea exactly what I wanted, but after our first call and her suggestions I was very excited about the offerings and kept all Dani's excellent suggestions. Pricing was absolutely reasonable. They arrived on the day of the event promptly, set up everything beautifully on the serving space and were nothing but gracious and courteous the whole time. The guests LOVED the food. Especially the marinated chicken thighs and the potato salad. I even received comments from guests the veggie tray was one of the most beautiful they had ever seen. All the other dishes were delicious as well and there was more than enough to send leftovers home with everyone who wanted some. Busy Bee elevated my event into something even more special by providing such amazing food. I never worried once about any part of catering, as they were the easiest to work with all around. These lovely folks made my Thanksgiving of 2024! Picture it, Brightwood, Oregon. One stressed out wanna be chef (Me) on the mountain needed a bit of help with a Thanksgiving feast for Kings. Busy Bee Catering swooped in and saved the day with their "Sides-Giving" offerings fit for royalty! Their fluffy mashed potatoes and gravy were divine. Their chicken apple sausage stuffing was a show stopper, as was the relish tray (as big as a trough for my goats), roasted vegetables and Fall harvest salad topped with sinfully delicious candied pecans. Jan & Dani catered our son's wedding for 260 people on a 33 acre property where EVERYTHING had to be brought in....and it was flawless! They were amazing to work with and so calm and wise to keep this MOTG relaxed to enjoy the events. The quotes were more reasonable than others and food/flavor/freshness/presentation not compromised. I had wanted our son to go with the PDX caterer and Jan & Dani were definitely the best choice. You can't go wrong with them. We also used them at Alpine Events for our rehersal dinner with 52 people and the dinner was fabulous and the event space so lovely and personal for our gathering. Jan and Busy Bee are great! They catered our staff (23 people) retreat in Government Camp. Price was very reasonable, and the food was amazing! All of my coworkers complimented me on the catering (pretty nice to get a compliment just for lining up someone to cook for you.) And Jan was good about separating out ingredients and making gluten free / veggie / dairy free options. Janet and crew helped us through my Daughters Wedding with patience and a lot of added value both offering suggestions and challenging (in a nice way) ideas. MY Daughter had things under control, not. So with little time tilll the ceremony Janet and I had several phone and email meetings and pulled off a fantastic reception for 200 people. The number one attribute is Busy Bee's ability to be flexible to budgets and still deliver an excellent product. In our case we mixed and matched who provided what, for example we provided soft drinks and champagne and saved a bunch. Busy Bee Catering is Amazing! We absolutely loved working with Jan and her amazing team!! They catered our daughter's wedding a couple of weeks ago, and the food was truly wonderful. We had 150 people. Half were vegetarians, there were also several allergies. But in the end, the presentation was something out of a magazine photo shoot, the taste was incredible, and her staff was simply the friendliest group of people you could meet. We also had a bartender that we hired through her. He was really awesome. He kept up with everyone, and made sure that everything stayed cold and people were happy. I can't say enough about Jan Ostrom, owner of Busy Bee. Although I live in Welches, I had never had a need for a caterer so I didn't even know about Busy Bee. Friends recommended them when I was planning the memorial service for my husband. Meeting with Jan Ostrom was so gracious and helpful in the planning and made the whole process so easy for me. She helped me plan the menu and arranged for the linens. The food was wonderful - beautiful fruit salad, sandwiches (hot and cold), desserts, etc. The presentation was perfect and Jan herself stayed to replenish the food and to clean up. Jan and her husband at Busy Bee Catering were delightful to work with. My husband, daughter and I asked them to cater a wedding for 200 people on June 20, 2015. We had numerous special requests -- my husband likes potato salad and cole slaw a certain way, Emily wanted pasta salad so that she could eat it, which meant gluten free. Jan did not bat an eye. Many guests said it was the best pasta salad they had ever tasted. My husband loved the potato and cole salad. Jan did it all and everything was beautiful and delicious. She puts on quite the display! So many compliments from the guests! The salmon was BBQ'd to perfection. I was amazed at the price because this was not an easy job. There was only one sink at this outdoor venue and she and her staff managed all those dishes with seeming ease. There was an abundance of food too.
