Employees are very knowledgeable with all their products and up to date on this NY States awfully anti gun laws. They offer military and Law enforcement discounts. And a side note to someone's else's review the owner isn't mean he is realy a nice guy but he does not have time for BS. Absolute best customer service around. Especially during the times we are in, they were extremely busy and not to mention my credit card company flagged my purchase as suspicious and took me 45 minutes to remedy (mind you everything is boxed up and in computer waiting to be cashed out). Went to Tim's today for the first time. The Place was busy (good for them) but I was still able to get service at the counter. I Was looking to build my first rifle or buy another one. Very helpful staff. They Answered my questions before I asked them and set me up with what they had available. I am Very happy with what I got and the advice they gave for future purchases. When I first walked in...They also asked me if was law enforcement? I get that question at all Gun shops. Stopped in with a very 'OLD' side-by-side I know nothing about. I wanted to learn something about what it was, (not fire-able...just real old with different size barrels). The young guy at the counter went in back and got an older guy who took one look at it and walked away saying to just junk it. I still wanted to know what this thing was, shotgun and rifle (?)...what calibers, etc. He just would not take 2 minutes and help or refer me to someone else. I have bought one used and two new pistols from Tim's. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The prices although not the cheapest are fair. You may find a cheaper price at a chain store but you will not get the customer service. Their ammo prices are much better than another local gun store read more

Been here a few times since my husband and I arrived to New York in 2019. They did the FFL paperwork for us to get our weapons here. They were very helpful in trying to find the right holster for me. I had never been to Tim's before. I heard about them through friends and they had nothing but good things to say about them. I I think Yelp had four reviews and two were pretty bad. I don't form my opinions from others so I decided to check them out for myself. I was kindly greeted as soon as I walked through the door And was helped immediately. I know very little and had many questions. The staff was kind, courteous, and very knowledgeable. Their prices are comparable to any big box store in the area. This is the first review I have ever wrote. But I felt compelled after reading the negative reviews. So there it is. I thought I would share my experience. Although by the looks of the foot traffic I'm sure they don't rely on reviews. I would recommend Tim's to anyone. read more

I recently bought a shotgun from Tim's. It was purchased for home defense. I ordered it online and it came in within a week. I picked it up and the guy I spoke with was friendly and helpful. A week later I called with a question about a small part that came in the box. I have never owned a gun before. I called up and described the part and was told it was a choke removal tool. I apologized for asking what I felt was a stupid question. He said it was no problem and thanked me again for purchasing from them. Highly recommended. read more

Tim's Guns has a large selection of guns and gear. We didn't get to see it all though. My son was having trouble because of the cigarette smoke was so heavy he just couldn't take it.
