Great selection of books from science fiction, mysteries, literature, poetry and even sections with more rare books and local Humboldt County history. There are multiple floors of books to explore and you can easily spend a day within the store talking about books with the staff, shopping for books, and living and breathing books. If you're traveling through Eureka and wanting a wonderful literary adventure, stop in old town and explore the huge variety of antique shops, used bookstores and wonderful niche shops that the city offers. It's well worth your time and efforts. I heartily recommend Eureka Books to everyone with a literary bent and a passion for books.

My mom, who we lost in September of 2019, used to come here all the time. I was here today, and she still remembered her. She had such nice things to say about her. As other people have said, it doesn't look that big on the outside, but it is huge on the inside. If you can't find what you are looking for, you are probably not looking hard enough. They have new and used books, fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, travel, rare and out of print books,, a very large children's room, and the list goes on and on. The prices are more than fair.... They also buy used books at a fair rate for store credit . If you don't find what you need this time, they will roll your credit over until the next time you come in. It's really cool that they do that. Once you buy your book, take it across the street to Los Bagels, And you can grab a nice snack while you peruse your purchase. As the minister of a local church, I am helping a recently widowed friend rehome some of her husbands books. Courtney explained which books she would accept and suggested how I might handle the ones she didn't take. I would 100% recommend this gem of a bookstore and can't say enough about how nice Courtney is!!
