They frequently hold birthdays here and also offer a variety of snacks for an additional fee. This is a place that we stop by often and are looking at buying one of their frequent visitor punch passes! I can remember going here as a little kid myself with my cousins and brother. Now I've taken all my kids and nephews and niece to This same event. The event has changed pretty drastically since I was little but the spirit and fun has remained the same. Growing up for me they actually gave candy at the stations throughout the zoo. Now it's more coloring crayons and what nots with smaller pieces and chunks of candy for the kids to get. The theme now days is more geared around popular cartoon and kids movie characters. Where when I grew up it wa more traditional soooky costumes like witches, ghosts, etc. You walk through a predestined path to separate areas and see the characters and get the goodies. Being as it mainly at night time you won't see any animals. However you can go during the day when bo characters or give outs are going on and get the full zoo experience and still see the designs and setups. They have cool little side things to see like a small pumpkin maze and dance areas. When I was growing up they still had the functioning train system that had a headless horseman that was always the highlight for us. They still have the train setup at the zoo but it has been closed down permanently for a few years. Overall this is still a cool and fun tradition at the Louisville zoo. If you are not a season pass member it is very expensive. Even for season pass members there are designated nights you have to go on or pay full price. These nights are insanely crowded. Due to that and honestly the lack of goodies intend to just visit on fall October mornings to see the setup. My kids and me have kinda been spoiled by being so many times so we are fine with doing that and seeing animals.

The pavilion is beautiful and gives the park a polished, welcoming feel. Plenty of shady spots and benches make it easy for parents (and grandparents!) to sit and relax while the kids burn off energy. All in all, if you're looking for a peaceful, charming park close to town with good amenities, Springs Park delivers. Highly recommend for families, casual visitors, or anyone wanting a breath of fresh air in a pretty setting.

The expansive brick-arched pavilion resembles a train station which is in keeping with the trains that travel down the town's Main Street daily. I was told that the pavillion is host to many musical events and the Saturday artisans/farmer's market. Also keeping with the town's love of trains, there is a piece of playground equipment fashioned after a locomotive. The playground has areas that are appropriate for younger and older children. Included in the areas are musical instruments, slides, rope bridge, climbing wall, merry-go-round and more. There is a building with very nice restrooms. There is an area of dedicated parking and there is also street parking available nearby. There is an abundance of nearby shops and eateries along Main Street.

Awesome water ride attraction at Kentucky kingdom in Louisville Kentucky. The ride began operation…read morein 1994 and features a 90 foot drop into the water. The height requirements are 42 inches to ride alone or 36 inches to ride with a companion. So it's kid friendly. This is probably my favorite Kentucky kingdom ride. Has been since I was like ten years old. Not much to it. You climb to the top and like most splash rides or goes through a few curves and takeouts beige climbing to the near 100 foot drop. The drop gathers good speeds and an enormous splash. I love looking up as soon as you hit the water and taking in the huge splash about to come crashing down on my head. You will get soaked especially if you sit in the front row. So my suggestion is to "sit in the front row" They also have a splash zone at the exit where if you aren't down getting wet or didn't get wet enough for your liking that you can hang out at and get slashed from the big drop from the next riders. Overall great ride that stands the test of time. Truly a a long time Kentucky kingdom staple. Perfect for days where it hot but you don't want to suit up and go to hurricane bay. But also perfect to Segway into the second half of your day headed to hurricane bay. I was very pleased to hear they kept this ride when they reopened Kentucky Kingdom a few years ago after being shit down for awhile.

It's an especially fun spot for older kids, but if you're with a toddler or preschooler, be prepared to follow them literally everywhere. And regardless of age, the are about 8000 ways for kids to injure themselves here, from the jagged rock steps, to the corners on the heavy machinery. My toddler was also eager to follow his sister and climb through the suspended metal tubes, but his feet and legs continued to slip through the spaces between the bars. The place is also huge, with two separate play areas, and no good line of sight. You may want to establish a meet up spot with your kids before they take off! As of this review, the restrooms had not been opened for the season, but they did have porta potties on site. One section of the rubber surface was also coming up, and was haphazardly closed off using cones.

We returned today for the most recent installment of Rick Bell's lecture series with today's topic…read morefeaturing Jim Porter (1810-1859). This was a very interesting presentation to learn more local history. Sound system was okay, but sometimes less than ideal with the nearby playground activity which was expected. The nearby interstate traffic would sometimes cause the building to shake very noticeably, which was a bit disconcerting. Seating was okay. I did think it would be nice if the chair feet had either pads or covers installed to help reduce the very significant noise when they were moved across the concrete floor. Plentiful free parking beneath the interstate. Building, parking, and playground areas are all accessible. Playground equipment is VERY impressive and one of the nicest public playgrounds that I have ever seen. Quite a bit of the area has the recycled rubber matting surface, which is very squishy. Today's weather in early March is mid-60s and it was fantastic to see so many people utilizing the spaces.

Glow golf was rough for this old gramma -- dark and kind of dangerous with all the hidden ups and downs making navigating the various holes a bit scary (in that I feared falling and breaking bones, neither of which happened, thankfully). I was very glad when the mini golf was over! Actually, I think my grandsons were as well. They also have daylight outdoor mini golf, which would have been a better choice for me. Afterward I gave each boy $10 in quarters (ATM and change machines on site) to play with in the arcade. Prizes were crap, naturally, but they had fun. A few games were out of order, sadly. I would not wholeheartedly recommend this venue, but it suited this Spring Break entertainment quest today.

The decorations are pretty cool, definitely very family friendly. I didn't find the holes very challenging, but the ones that were seemed impossible. They have a small arcade with about 15 games. Most seemed kinda dated, but the kids still enjoyed themselves. No prizes! But if you have little kids, that is kind of a godsend. There is a small snack bar inside so you could get a drink. They also offer outdoor mini golf, but it was too cold and we did not for that so I have zero opinion on that. The course seemed pretty small, but Corydon Indiana, It is what it is. Nice guy worked there, very helpful. Three stars just because it was fun, but just left something to be desired.
