Even though I am grown I still take my children here as much as possible. Every year at Easter we have a flashlight Easter egg hunt at night with my kids, nephews and nieces, and children from the neighborhood. Great new tradition that we all love. This quiet, spacious, nice and clean park represents a big part of my childhood memories and will always be special to me.

The middle school next door also uses it for school events (Color Run, student celebrations). The pool is public and you can purchase day passes fairly cheap (less than $10pp). I've been told it is busy during the day with hours blocked out for the DH swim team practices. Besides a large walking circle, visitors use the soccer goals, sand volleyball court and tables / benches. A small playground has a few swings and things to crawl on - and as a mom I hate the taller climbing pieces, which are broken arms waiting to happen. On this last visit we spotted a free book stand. I'll have to remember to bring some books to share! Tonight we visited the park for its annual fireworks show. It's fairly impressive and brings out the crowd. You can come early for music and food trucks (or pack a cooler) or drive over a few minutes before the show with your camping chair. While not as scenic as other parks in Louisville this is a spot you can enjoy with others or for a walk to clear your head.

Saint rita playground serves as the school and church playground of the same name. All located on…read morePreston Highway in the okolona portion of Louisville. The playground located in the back corner of the parking lot next to the gymnasium is separated into two different playground by a fence. One that is essentially a toddlers playground ages 2-4 old and then an older kid playground ages 5-12 years old. Both set of playgrounds have sets of swings and a jungle gym type setup with slides. As stated above it is mainly used by the church and the school. The school will use it for students during recess and it's serves a nice space for them to relax and have fun and create memories. The church has had events such as Easter egg hunts and haunted houses there during trunk or treat events. Sometimes the gates are left unlocked when the church is hosting baseball or basketball events. Not sure if it's done on purpose or by accident but you will catch it open sometimes on nicer days. Overall cool little playground that serves its purpose. All 4 of my kids have spent plenty of time on in and have created fun times and memories there.

The playground equipment has been upgraded and it was a welcome break for the younger kids brought to the art fair. I appreciated the small skateboarding area, large rocks, and benches or picnic tables. The park does have a bathroom; however, it was locked down for the winter season and water features were turned off. You'll want to find nearby street parking to visit the playground. During warm, sunny weather you will find extremely limited shade. Plan accordingly.

Smallish but very nice park on the busy Lexington road in Louisville Kentucky. The last week or so…read moreI've actually driven past this park a few times when going to dine in Frankfort ave. So it caught my attention. Today after having lunch at Ciao with my wife and my youngest daughter who is one we noticed they had there small spray ground going and it wasn't crowded. It was 90 degrees so we pulled over and said "why not, looks like a cool park". The park has some public restrooms, a tiny skate park, a playground, some swings and a little spray ground. My one year old who just started walking a few weeks ago had yet to experience a splash pad or spray ground so this tiny bit crowded concrete one was a perfect introduction. She loved it! She showed no fear or hesitation and she played hard! The playground was pretty updated and nice and we spent some time on that. I didn't have my older daughters with me but I'm sure they would have loved the skate park. It wasn't very big. But it looked cool and there aren't many skate parks in Louisville so it's nice to know about another one that exists. The only downfall to this park I have to put back on the city. The two trash cans in the parking lot were overflowing. And trash was blowing everywhere. It was obvious someone had a birthday party there over the weekend. We visited on a Monday around 130pm so they had ample time to get a crew out there to touch up. I didn't dare walk in the bathrooms to see them after looking at the trash in the parking lot. Overall still this is a super nice and fun park. Kids are in there last week of school so not sure how crowded this place gets. But if it doesn't get too bad I'd like to take my older kids back for the skate park and let my two youngest go wild in The splash park.

Kind of tucked…read moreaway off the main road and if you didn't know to look for it you probably wouldn't find this gem. This park offers a lot of amenities. A very cool playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, a walking trail, gazebo sitting and most shockingly of all a full blown skate park. Who knows maybe the next tony hawk is practicing now in small town mount Washington? Took my 4 daughters along with some friends here for the fist time ever today. My one year and six year old loved the playground and swings. Played for hours. My two older daughters tried out the state of the art skate park. Which I was shocked how elaborate it was. In the whole metro Louisville area I can only think of one other skate park and that is in downtown Louisville. They had a blast there. They borrowed a friends skateboard and they really took a liking to it. I've already been sent Amazon links from both of them asking for a skateboard so I'm sure I'll be back here once that happens. I enjoyed sitting back and relaxing and watching them have fun. Plenty of spots to sit and relax and an easy small concrete walking trail that circles the park amenities and beautiful landscape. Very impressed by this park. Very well upkept and lots of cool and fun activities for all ages. We will absolutely be back to This hidden gem several times. Absolutely worth checking out!
