Much appreciation for this park and the community that takes care of it. This weekend I enjoyed a…read moreperformance by Shakespeare in the Park. It also host an annual fireworks display and periodic farmers markets. The park offers a decent walking path. Along the path are various trees and plaques identifying them. I also love the swings! Several children enjoy the playground and it was recently updated. Others features include a volleyball court, gazebos and tables for picnics. There's plenty of green space too if you want to throw down a blanked and read. Parking spaces are available around the park or in nearby neighborhood streets. Near the playground is a little library.

The playground equipment has been upgraded and it was a welcome break for the younger kids brought to the art fair. I appreciated the small skateboarding area, large rocks, and benches or picnic tables. The park does have a bathroom; however, it was locked down for the winter season and water features were turned off. You'll want to find nearby street parking to visit the playground. During warm, sunny weather you will find extremely limited shade. Plan accordingly.

Smallish but very nice park on the busy Lexington road in Louisville Kentucky. The last week or so…read moreI've actually driven past this park a few times when going to dine in Frankfort ave. So it caught my attention. Today after having lunch at Ciao with my wife and my youngest daughter who is one we noticed they had there small spray ground going and it wasn't crowded. It was 90 degrees so we pulled over and said "why not, looks like a cool park". The park has some public restrooms, a tiny skate park, a playground, some swings and a little spray ground. My one year old who just started walking a few weeks ago had yet to experience a splash pad or spray ground so this tiny bit crowded concrete one was a perfect introduction. She loved it! She showed no fear or hesitation and she played hard! The playground was pretty updated and nice and we spent some time on that. I didn't have my older daughters with me but I'm sure they would have loved the skate park. It wasn't very big. But it looked cool and there aren't many skate parks in Louisville so it's nice to know about another one that exists. The only downfall to this park I have to put back on the city. The two trash cans in the parking lot were overflowing. And trash was blowing everywhere. It was obvious someone had a birthday party there over the weekend. We visited on a Monday around 130pm so they had ample time to get a crew out there to touch up. I didn't dare walk in the bathrooms to see them after looking at the trash in the parking lot. Overall still this is a super nice and fun park. Kids are in there last week of school so not sure how crowded this place gets. But if it doesn't get too bad I'd like to take my older kids back for the skate park and let my two youngest go wild in The splash park.

Broad run is an amazing and massive park already with tons to do. However this particular playground and Sprayground is by far the most popular attraction in not only the broad run park but I'd say all of the parklands park systems. Very large and creative playground and Sprayground that are a tons of fun. I've taken all my kids here several times over the last 10 plus years and it is always a blast. They have two covered sections with picnic tables for you to pack a lunch and dry off out of the what or other weather elements. They also have indoor restroom facilities on site at the entrance of the spray and play grounds. Overall a really cool and fun place and one of my favorite places to take my kids. Great place for a family to have tons of fun and for free. Just another amazing perk of broad run park and the parklands park system.

Willow Park continues to be a jewel at the busy intersection at the end of Cherokee Parkway…read more And considering it's been a couple of years since I last reviewed this small park and my son and I got to enjoy its playground recently, I wanted to update this. Along with have a beautiful gazebo, bathroom facilities and some green space, it also has a cute playground area. One very nice touch: The playground is fenced in, with a gate that latches. While you should obviously keep an eye on your kids, this fence makes me at least feel a bit better about letting my son run around in this area when he gets a bit older. In the meantime, we enjoyed the swings. It has one bucket swing, which was great for us. The biggest portion of this area is taken up by a playset that kids can hang, climb and slide on. Benches surround the area, making it great to find a spot to sit and relax while kids play. I would have taken photos, but the area was full of kiddos when I was there this week -- a good indication that this is a good area to play in. The Highlands neighborhood boasts several great parks, and Willow Park is definitely one of them. Don't overlook it when you're making your way around the neighborhood and crave some fresh air.

The pavilion is next to the splash pad which makes for convenient seating in the shade. On the day we went there were just a couple families to come and go - so there was plenty of room. We did not need the bathroom but there was one close by. And a coke machine. The pad was smaller than expected and probably for younger ones. (10yr old got bored ) The park is very clean and well kept.

Farnsley park is one of my favorite parks close to the Bonaire library. It has a vast amount of big…read moretrees that provide ample shade on these hot days. Street parking makes it easily accessible from multiple points. This year they added some exercise equipment around the walking path close to the splash pad and the different playground equipment services, both little and big kids. There is a massive field with enough space to play a good game of kickball or soccer and a few picnic tables which make it a good place to come play then take a break with a well packed lunch Definitely a sweet spot to hang out with kiddos.

It's small, but offers a playground, picnic area, soccer field and a small walking trail. It's right smack in the middle of a neighborhood, and there is no parking area so you'll have to street park in front of someone's house. I felt a little uneasy here, as there were some sketchy characters and not in the safest of areas. It is what it is. Not a stellar park but not an awful one either.
