I am a petite woman. I'm typically a size 6, but only 5'0". Clearly a lot of clothing isn't made for my proportions and wedding dresses certainly are not. I ordered my dress online at Cocomelody. It was beautiful, but definitely too long. I had about 4 inches of dress at the bottom that I kept stepping on when trying to walk. I decided to check out Tina's while I was visiting my parents in Killeen. I wanted to keep my wedding dress away from my house so my future husband couldn't see it. I called first and they said they were open with shortened hours on Saturday. My sister and I went in Saturday morning, and the sign outside indicates masks are required. Nice work staying safe! No one else was in the shop so Tina saw us immediately. She led me to the back to try on my dress so she could mark the changes she thought I'd need. She could immediately see the length was a problem, and told me fixing that should be simple. However, upon further inspection of my dress she noted the bottom layers were sewn together; she would have to unstitch them to make the changes. Plus, the top didn't quite fit: the arm holes were a bit too big, and the back sagged a little. It wasn't a horrible look, but when Tina lifted the back and made the fit more secure, my sister noticed a big difference. Tina went over all the alterations I needed repeatedly so it was clear what she was going to do. We established a time, (about 2 weeks before my wedding date in case I wanted anything altered), she told me a price, we agreed, and then she wrote me a receipt to be paid when I picked up my finished dress. I got a call a few days later saying my dress was already ready to be picked up! She finished nearly a week earlier than scheduled. Again, I brought my sister to see me try on my dress and she was blown away. I immediately noticed the fit was better. The changes seemed so subtle on the outside, but my dress felt like mine. This is dedicated to Melissa P, who got the FTR before me. I bought slacks for $30 for work (woo). It is a practical, all weather khaki without pleats. The inseam was a bit lengthy and needed to be taken in for a proper fit. I took the pants to Tina and she was very nice and friendly as she emerged from her workshop behind the busy counter. All I needed was a basic hem with a full break and no cuff so that the pant legs weren't dragging into my heels. I was truly comfortable with leaving my slacks there and thought in the end it would be fine because I would look less like an unprofessional buffoon wearing ill-fitting pants. When I got the garment back I couldn't even tell if any work had been done, because the work was flawless. It's as if she went back to the pants store and found the perfect pants in my exact measurements, or better yet, she went to the factory and hand-crafted these pants just for me. The best part was that she charged a fair amount! YIKES! Extremely reasonable, especially for the services requested and prompt turnaround time as promised. I have had MANY pants altered at various locations and have only once been charged a rush fee (because it was a rush order) -- I would go back to this store. read more

Support local and come here for any alterations you may need! I came here for a bridesmaid dress alteration with 2 weeks turnaround time. It's a cute little shop and Tina works hard in the back and her husband is in the front managing the store. They were transparent with the pricing and albeit a bit on the steeper side, they got it done in time and were so kind. The originally way-too-large dress fit so much better after she altered it (was a tad bit too tight on the shoulders and she said she couldn't change it anymore) but overall I'm still happy with the result. I had a hard time reaching them on the phone on a Saturday, but they are open! This place is cash only and payment is due at pickup. read more

First of all, Tina is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. She's always telling stories, cracking jokes, smiling, and asking all about how you're doing. I love that in customer service! I brought in three pairs of pants for hemming and one for a zipper replacement. She had me try them on, pinned them to length, and made extra sure I was happy with where she pinned them. She did all the work in a week, and it only cost $35. Not only is that a good price, her work is high quality and flawless! She put an industrial strength zipper on the jeans, so it'll likely never break again. Also, the hem work is impeccable. I'm 5'3" with a big booty, so finding pants is usually difficult. I buy them for fit and then usually have them hemmed. All the pants I brought to Tina now fit like a glove. Gotta love it! read more

I bought a dress for $30 for a friends wedding (woo). It is a cute summer dress with open lace back. The lace in the back gaped and because of the open back I couldn't wear a bra. I took the dress to Tina and at first she was trying to talk me out of even altering the dress. All I wanted was for the button to be moved in slightly so that it wouldn't gape and for a bra to be sewn in. I was truly uncomfortable with leaving my dress there-- but thought in the end it would be fine. When I got the dress back I couldn't even tell if any work had been done, other than the bra (which was a size too big) being sewn in. The worst part was that she charged $85! YIKES! Extremely over priced especially for the MINIMAL/ IF ANY work that was done to it. I have had MANY dresses altered at various locations and have only once been charged $80 (because it was a rush order and it the whole dress had to be reconstructed) -- I would not go back to this store. read more

Tina and her work saved my wedding. I bought a dress off the rack at a bridal store, and they only had one size, which was 3 too large for me. They quoted me a price of $600+ for alterations. I took it to Tina and her husband, and she knew EXACTLY what to do and how, and had it done within a matter of weeks, charging me less than 1/3 of what the store quoted. I was blown away. I took a ball gown in for altering a week before the ball. Tina's had it done and ready within that time frame. She was also very friendly and helpful. The work was excellent (couldn't tell there had been any). Price was good too. $75 to pretty much bring the dress down a size and adjust the straps. My daughter needed her top to her prom dress altered ( two piece set) I ordered it custom made, unfortunately it was not made to specified measurements. I selected this shop, after reading all the 5 star reviews. I called and explained what I had going on, and was told to come in with the piece. When we arrived she looked at the piece and said she couldn't make the alterations, because the top had an over lay of embellishments that were sewn on to the top. I explained and showed her that there was extra material left in the top just in case it needed to be altered, she said she still could not do, so I suggested to her to reset the zipper in the back as much as possible. She agreed to that and told me it would cost me $ 45.00. I thought that was to pricey, so I told her I would remove the zipper myself, I left, went and picked up a seam ripper, removed the zipper, was back at her shop after about 40 minutes. She sewed the zipper back in, in about five minutes. It was sewn in with out a care more of a rush job, you could see the threading that was sewn in which she double stitched, over lapping and uneven stitches (this was not a invisible zipper). I was charged $ 20.00 for that. So I come to the conclusion, that Miss Tina is limited to what she can really do when it comes to laborious alterations, because she is definitely not a seamstress. I ended up taking it to Barbra's Needle, she did an outstanding job for $ 50.00, the work is to perfection . This is what alterations specialist is suppose to accomplish. read more
