Trimming all the trees off of my house, mulching, and weeding. The estimate was reasonable and the work stellar. Communication: incredibly strong. I reached out on Yelp and heard back right away. They were happy to answer all of my questions and didn't pressure me to buy things that I didn't ask for. Teo's has great customer service--highly available. In an age of robo answering machines, this was a nice change of pace! Quality of work: I am very pleased with the quality of work. My patio still needs new furniture--but the weeds are finally gone. The thing was COVERED. The trees have been trimmed back enough where I won't need work done for another year, but they still look healthy. I wish I had taken a before/after set of photos--it's truly night and day for the work done on my yard. Price: Teo's prices are reasonable. They're not so low that they're concerning; but, they are affordable. They were definitely better than many of the other quotes I received. Over the next few months I'll need some more work done on the yard; I know who I'll be calling in the future.

The work they did for the neighbor looked fine. Maintenance was well kept but by no means elaborate. Bushes were trimmed, the yard was mowed and flower beds mulched once a year. So we got a price for regular maintenance. This includes a spring clean up, bush trimming and mulching. Mowing twice a month and a fall cleanup (2 leaf removals). Our yard is relatively small, NW DC sized yard. Same size as our neighbors. Their price, just under 9K a year! I was shocked to say the least, to think anyone pays that for what is in effect 9 or 10 months worth of "service ($900 a month). We got 3 other bids for the exact same scope. The other three bids were all within 6% of each other and less than half ($~3,900) of what Hawkins wanted to charge. I don't know if they simply weren't interested in the work or if they saw a "mark" or if they actually get away with charging that.

Once we had a chance to review he and the crew were off and running. The overall job done is simply amazing. We had them clean up our front yard (it looks nice now!!!) and remove a tree. You can't even tell there was a tree before. He cleaned out our front flower beds and added a beautiful gravel area replacing the mulch. This was such a simple and easy process! I contacted Nature's Friends to sort out my issues and Cliff was over at my house in no time. He talked through any prior water retention issues I had, and came up with a plan to future proof our house from any flooding that could happen with big storms. The crew were back out within a few days and executed the plan as Cliff specified. The laborers placed one of the pop-ups a little too close to the house, and without any intervention, the day-of-supervisor spoke with me to let me know they would extend it according to plan, and corrected everything. They also replaced my sump pump, which was not the easiest thing due to a seized grate closure (see pics), and at a fraction of the price quoted by plumbers. I was really impressed with how quick everything was completed, and for a job like this (digging long trenches to run PVC), my yard looks nearly immaculate. They gave me instructions to heal the grass patches so my lawn would look as it did before in no time. After the work was done, Cliff reached out to make sure all was working well when it rained. I told him and asked him to come back and complete the job and he said it's normal for the weeds to come back and that a lot of his customers have him weed on a monthly basis... maybe a weed here or there, but I paid well for weeding and mulching to eradicate weeds and this was not our arrangement. Did not seem to understand that to keep weeds from growing back, he should have put down weed mat or sprayed - he did not do either and did not raise either as 'extra'. So, $300 for these areas and 2 weeks later it looks like my yard bed is heading back to where we started. Spraying here and there is reasonable as a homeowner, but as a landscaping company, I expected better service and more knowledge. He told me he did his job well and isn't coming back. I wanted to give a chance for someone to come back and correct, but he said no, so I want to leave an honest review for other yelp users looking for a similar project.
