I highly recommend Best Landscape & Construction. They completed a renovation of my patio in 2025, including repairing pavers that had sunk due to improper repair by another contractor, re-installing paver edging that had heaved, power-washing the patio to clear out dirt and weeds that had taken root in some of the joints, and installing new polymeric joint sand. I was especially pleased with their response when a problem arose: the day that the new joint sand was installed, we had an unexpected strong rain storm during the evening that washed out the new sand from some of the joints. I asked that the joints be re-done, and there was no hesitation or push-back at all - the work crew came out as soon as we had a few dry weather days, re-power-washed the patio to clear out joints that hadn't set properly, and re-applied joint sand, followed a couple of days later by paver sealer. The completed patio looks like new. I also appreciated that the work crew was careful not to damage several plants - worth a couple of hundred dollars in total if I'd had to replace them -- that were next to the edge of the patio. Throughout the project, communication was clear and they responded quickly to questions. The price was also reasonable. My house is 30+ years old and I've had several major projects done during that time, and I'm also pretty detail-oriented so perhaps not the easiest customer -- overall, Best Landscape & Construction was one of the best contractors I've worked with. read more

Scope: Abel and his team installed a swing beam, 6' tall cedar privacy fence (horizontal) and a pergola using the fence posts. Estimate: We got 4 other quotes for this job. Abel was responsive, knowledgeable, his pricing was competitive and was willing to work with our deadline. Job: On the first day, Abel arrived with his crew and went over all the details of placement and design. He and his crew were an excellent mix of big-picture and detail-focus and identified some challenges earlier on and came up with flexible and great solutions. I find that sort of problem-solving to be the most stressful part of construction, but with Abel and his team it was a breeze. We knew our project was in skilled and caring hands. His crew showed up on time and worked full days until completion, and finished in 4 days as estimated. Their workmanship was beyond what we expected and we've had lots of construction projects done over the years. The adage goes that for construction you can get wither price, quality or speed. They did a large, difficult project constructing a tall retaining wall to increase the size of our driveway. They had a competitive price, were responsive the whole way through, and the workmanship was excellent. The only things I would mention that are critical is that they used corrugated pipe instead of pvc pipe for the french drain, and they didn't initially intend to waterproof the back of the wall (they did after we talked about it). So make sure to go over the details with them in advance, but overall they did excellent work which looks great, in an efficient and price competitive manner. read more

AS OF JUNE 16, YARD STILL ISN'T FIXED. I STAYED HOME WAITING ON MR. RIVAS WHO HAS BEEN A NO/CALL NO SHOW ON 2 OUT OF 3DYS. I hired BLC for a major water issue last year. I was referred by a community online member and I did my homework. I read site, his page, reviews....& I decided to trust them with my home. I've spend over $3,000, which is a lot of money for a single person living on a fixed income. I'm still paying it off on my credit card. Mr. Rivas came out 7mths ago and promised to return to take care of job. I felt the job should have been done right in the first place, but I patiently waited and was very nice about it. I've explained over & over that all the water should run to the curve and away from house & out of the yard. I called, messaged, texted and finally got through to him. It's been almost 2wks and same thing, I haven't heard back. There is water in my back yard and two areas of my front yard (see pics). I can't continue to allow water to back up in my yard, house and crawlspace. I'm sure he's aware the damage that water/moisture can do to a home and the health of the homeowner. I don't like leaving reviews like this, but it's my last resort. He mentioned my review on another platform so I was hoping he'd make it right before I had to leave this one. I have no choice but to take it a step further if he doesn't fix this issue once and for all in the next 2wks. I'm not asking for much, I just want him to stick to the promises made on his site (see pic). superior service, listen to needs/follow-through, satisfaction guaranteed, can be trusted...... The work is outside so social distancing shouldn't be an issue. With all that's going on with this pandemic, home owner's don't need the extra stress. We had a complicated outdoor project involving (1) removal of a large concrete driveway, a fence, and substantial, failing deck; (2) new permeable parking pad; (3) new patio; (4) new deck; (5) new fence; and (6) new lawn. We designed the project ourselves, but we needed a company that could do all of that competently without charging us a fortune. Abel (the business owner) came out during the estimate process with a very can-do attitude: in general, he deferred to our ambitions for the project, but also gave us advice throughout both the estimate process and during the project itself (including advice that saved us money). The estimate was very reasonable for its scope (we received estimates from multiple companies), it was delivered relatively quickly with lots of detail, and he allowed consistent adjustments along the way (there were no "hidden" expenses either). The project was started on our schedule, and then he and his team did a really great job. We're extremely happy with all of the changes to our property, which has now been transformed from a property with some decrepit structures into a really beautiful outdoor space, exactly as we dreamed it could be. Abel Rivas, owner of Best Landscape and Construction, is the best contractor for both indoor and outdoor work. He is completely reliable and really does his upmost to make customers pleased. His prices are very reasonable. After the recent wind storm when a huge tree fell from our neighbor's yard and blocked our car in our garage he had his workers start the removal the very next day. He did not take advantage of the situation to charge extra as the contractor our neighbors originally called. Both our neighbor and we ended up hiring Abel. Abel has also replaced our old dangerously cracked concrete path leading to our front door and built a railing for me to hold onto. He installed a new ceiling in my study.
