Being raised in NYC, where half the people are trying to rip your off all the time, to meet and do business with Jason Bechthold of Tint Crafters is a breath of fresh air. I recently purchased to brand new Jeep Rubincon for my teenage daughter to use. I wanted the windows tinted mostly for privacy and also a clear bra on the front for protection from pebbles. Jason explained in detail all of the different options available. He really knows his tinting. A lot of the details went over my head, but I was happy to defer to his professional opinion because his enthusiasm and knowledge of the window tinting business was amazing. I mentioned to Jason how I was having problems with my 1991 Honda Civic with 350,000 miles (all mine, bought it brand new in January 1991) regarding water leaking in from the frame of the windshield and short circuiting fuses. Owner Jason told me over the phone that for my 2013 FR-S the price would either be $249 for the "cheaper" tint, or $349 for the upgraded tint. I made an appointment and dropped off my car. When dropping off my car, there are two sets of tint on the door to the business--left side is the cheaper tint, right side is the more expensive tint. Each has a percentage number on it, indicating the level of the tint. I walked in, handed him the keys, pointed to the tint I wanted and then walked out. Everything was fine until I picked up my car today. Jason hands me the bill and says "$299" and I said "You told me $249 on the phone...?" To which he responds "$249 was for 30% or 35%, but since you chose a tint that is over the legal limit, it costs me more to buy that tint, so it costs you more." Now I'm in WTF mode. Bill is $50 higher than quoted and I had no idea the tint I selected was over the Colorado legal limit. So I asked him-- "Why on earth didn't you tell me when I was right in front of you, here in the office, that this was over the legal limit?!" And he says "I did, and you should read what you sign." He was referring to the bottom of the standard receipt he gives everyone to sign (not a special disclosure for someone who picks an "illegal" level of tint), and this disclosure says "dark tint is for show uses only..." --says nothing about the tint I selected, what percentage tint is illegal in Colorado, etc. There are NO signs anywhere, nothing in the shop whatsoever indicating that certain tints are "illegal" in the state where they are being installed. You just have to know, or guess. Don't rely on Jason to help you make an informed decision. So now I paid $300 for 3 illegally tinted windows on what is a company car, without so much as a word from the owner of this place until it was time for me to give him my credit car. Thanks Jason! I drive by their shop every day when heading home and have kicked myself time and time again for not stopping to getting my wife's front windows tinted on her new truck. (Procrastinator I am) So on a Saturday morning I woke up and said, "Let this be the day the windows see some tint!" and I was off. Walked right in to a no frills greeting area where Jason was quick to spot the new truck. Told him I was looking to get the front two windows matched to the back and he said, "No problem. $99 bucks". Are you kidding me! I'm thinking $150 spot at least and the best part is he asked if I had an hour. WHAT! So there I sat, half watching TV, half reading a magazine and before I knew it the truck was blacked out and ready to roll. There I stood with debit card in hand wondering what else I could get done here. Jump forward two months and now it's my new trucks turn for the tint shop. It's rare to have customer service, such as this! I just bought a Infinity G37X and wanted to get my windows tinted. My buddy told me about tint crafters, so I decided to go down and give them a try. I made an appointment for last Tuesday, and when I went in, I was greeted by Jason, who explained which tint was best for my car and told me the difference between each one. I had all of my windows done, so it took about 4 hours. After my car was done, it looked AMAZING! I am still waiting for it to be cured (I have one more day) but let me tell you, my car went from being average, to people actually staring as I drive by. I have had three cars tinted. Two of which I was talked into a darker tint than I really wanted. With my new car, I new I didn't want crazy dark tint. A few friends had referred me to Tint Crafters of Centennial for clear bra and window tint. Though it is no where near where I live, I called and talked to the owner, Jason. He asked a lot of questions about what I wanted and shared with me options as to clear bra, different areas to be protected and my options for tint. I made an appointment after that. He was professional and quite knowledgeable. My car was done on time. he educated me as to how to maintain the clear bra, what to use to clean windows and said to call if I had questions. This was the third car I had tint and clear bra done and nobody had ever shared that info with me. What a great experience I had with Tint Crafters of Centennial! From the first phone call with Jason, he stayed with me on phone to explain all work and prices of what I was looking for, super friendly and knowledgeable. Made an appointment to look over some catalogs and sit down to complete my order and was greeted by Isaac when I walked through door, another super cool employee that made me feel at home from the get. We set up an appointment for a couple days later for a window tint and headlight install. Came in, dropped off truck and picked it up at the end of day. They did an amazing job with everything, couldn't have asked for better service. After I had the car tinted, took my car to a local detail shop and they could not believe how great the tint came out. There is nearly no line where the tint meets the edge of my side windows. It literally looks like privacy glass from the factory. The rear tint looks flawless as well. Jason takes his time with your car and allows his work to do all the talking. There is a reason why he's been in business so long. Don't be fooled by these local tint shops that charge less. Don't go here if you have an ignition interlock in your vehicle. The guy working had me start my truck while he went and talked to another customer for 15 mins. I eventually turned the ignition off, then had to restart it for him to pull in the shop when he decided to help me. He was kind enough to call me when it was almost done. However the price for two side windows was $150, $125 with the yelp discount. Afterward I went to start my truck and it was apparent he missed a rolling retest. I had to call Guardian, then make an appt to go to my services to have it reset. I will have to pay a fee and submit paperwork to the DMV now to prove it wasn't me. When I then went back in to ask him what happened, he said "it beeped and I did it". I wished he would have made some concessions as far as causing me a huge pain in the ass. read more

I'm the type of person who does serious research on businesses/products before going forth with them. I like to come home with the best of whatever I'm shopping for. After some searching around on Yelp and elsewhere, there didn't seem to be a definitive "best car window tinter" in the Denver area. I hope that my review encourages others who decided to go to 'Tint Crafters of Centennial' to write a review detailing their experience so that others can read about it and make an informed decision on where to get their expensive car tinted out. I believe there is a real shortage of reviews about tint places in the Denver area! So I had two exchanges on the phone with these guys. Both conversations were very pleasant and helpful. He was patient, and I didn't feel rushed or get the impression that he was in a hurry to get off the phone. He repeated back to me the time of our appointment and all the details we went over to ensure nothing fell through the cracks. The second phone call was about what products they offer and he was able to steer me in the right direction. He gave me the impression that it was important to him that he answer my questions until I was totally satisfied. For better or worse, this shop only offers two types of tint; both options are both made by Suntek. The cheaper option of the two is called "High Performance" and is made of a metalized film. The more expensive option is Suntek's most advanced film called "CXP" and is a carbon based film. A third option of window tint available on the market is a ceramic based film, which is also a high end film along the lines of carbon based film; however, this shop only offers those two previously mentioned films by Suntek (metalized and carbon). Do some research on these films before going in. I did, and I decided to go with the CXP (although it is more expensive). I am extremely happy with the quality and look of this tint. There are some nay-sayers online about the CXP who say to avoid it because Suntek has released bad batches (these complaints are several years old, sometime around 2010 or 2011) that come out with a hazy red tint. The batch of CXP on my windows is 100% excellent as of my review of my newly tinted windows in June 2013. It is a beautiful clean/clear/crisp shade of black that is kind of muted on the outside and not very reflective, which gives the appearance of being really classy and high quality without looking extravagant. It really looks like top quality stuff from the inside and out. I went with the CXP 18% because I was afraid the next step up offered in the CXP (35%) would be a little too light. I'm very happy with my decision. 18% is really pretty much blacked out, but during the day you can still just kinda barely see the outline of people inside depending on what angle you're viewing the window. I wouldn't advise anyone to go darker than that and really 35% should be a good shade for most people. Okay, back to the review of Tint Crafters. There are NO bubbles to be found. The lines of the cut of the tint are SO SO SO clean. They follow the line of my windows perfectly and are VERY straight with no "wavering" of the line. I had a bit of a wavery line on my previous car that we paid a lot of money to have tinted professionally by another company in Missouri. Tint Crafters did an absolutely top notch job on my current car and it basically looks like it came from the factory this way (except that it's really dark!). From my experience, these guys are the best in town for applying car window tint. They are somewhat costly, but if you LOVE your car and want the best for it, then these guys are it. However, if you have a specific brand/type of tint in mind that you want applied to your car, it could be in your best interest to look elsewhere. I've heard of people purchasing rolls of the tint of their choice online and then bringing them in to the tinter of their choice to apply them, but because different films have different characteristics and "feel" to them, your tinter possibly won't be accustomed to applying that type of tint and perhaps not do the best job on your windows. This is just my understanding with my limited knowledge on the subject from reading forums, etc. before proceeding with the CXP window tint from Tint Crafters. That concludes my review. Good luck! (Oh yeah, forgot to mention their lifetime guarantee!! Yay.) PS: It took about 3-4 hours to do my car. I was under the impression from what I'd read online that it would take about an hour or 1.5 hours, but when I got there I found out that I should have had a ride arranged beforehand to pick me up because it was going to take half a day before it would be ready. I think this could have been mentioned on the phone during either phone conversation I had with them, but to their defense, I really should have just asked roughly how long it would take before bringing my car in. So I can't deduct stars for what was ultimately my responsibility to ask. read more

Lazy Installer~! Wouldnt remove the 3rd Brake light to get a clean look on the back window. He said the earlier model of the Chevy Cruze couldnt be removed the same way as mine did... Well Jason, the 2011 is the ONLY Model out as of now... 2 screws in the trunk... lazy... He will fix it for $150 bucks... I have been using this shop (they are all independently owned from what I understand and the quality definitely varies) for the better part of a decade. The owner Jason is very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and most important of all does great work. I have tried other shops before I found this one and have never gone anywhere else since. I have learned the hard way what you get when you go with the cheapest shop in town (sub par materials, difficulty in getting warranty work done, poor install quality and on and on...). It is always reassuring to me to know that the owner of the business is personally working on my cars rather than have 6 random people rushing through the vehicle to get it out as quickly as possible. It might take a little longer if one or two people are working on it, but the work comes out in a more consistent manner as far as cleanliness of installation, better uniformity of cuts etc. Luckily they are right next to a theater and tons of other stuff so I usually just grab lunch and catch a flick while I wait (or better yet, make an appointment during the week and get it done while you're at work!). As far as the price, initially I had some sticker shock, but after seeing the work they do I'd gladly spend the extra money if it means I won't have to spend time coming back due to shoddy install or materials. That being said, the only time I had a warranty issue it was taken care of promptly without any hassle. I have had this shop do multiple vehicles for me. The quality is high enough that I even recommend them to everyone that I know which I usually don't do because if something goes wrong they blame me. I have never had one complaint from anyone and rarely hear of any warranty work being necessary. Top notch customer service and products and as professional as it gets. You can tell by looking at the caliber of the vehicles that he has worked on (he has a TON of photos of some incredible vehicles that he actually worked on rather than downloaded off the internet like some other shops...) that this is a place you can trust to get your tint and clear bra needs met. I also love having the peace of mind that it isn't some fly by night hack shop that might be gone at any time which seems to happen a lot. OUTSTANDING experience with this business. Jason (owner) spent about 15 minutes on the phone explaining the options and answering various questions, and then another 30 in the shop helping us decide on the tint level for front and back windows (which was tricky because the vehicle already had a factory tint on it). Jason knew exactly which level we would end up at when adding new tint and was patient with us as we made decisions. It took about 4+ hours for him to add the tint for all windows including a strip on the dashboard for our SUV. I had done a ton of research before going here, and other less expensive companies had told me they could do it in an hour or two... not sure how a quality job like this one could be that quick. Our tint was PERFECT and I can see why it took all afternoon. All the way around the vehicle, everything is smooth and flawless, and also the exact shades Jason told us they would be. This was three weeks ago, and my SUV still looks perfect. Jason (owner) did an awesome job installing a clear bra on my newly purchased RAV4. He is a bit more expensive than others but he chooses quality over volume. He is very personable and takes his time to explain the process and go over various installation options that would fit your budget. Installing clear bra involves cutting protective film while it is on a car without cutting into the car's paint and you cant do it without experience. Jason has over 14 years of experience and can be trusted with that. I definitely recommend him to anyone and will do business with him again.
