No frills spot that does tinting and replaces auto glass for a reasonable price! My car got broken into so we needed to find a spot that wasn't too expensive and open on a Sunday and this spot was it. I have a Corolla and they charged me 80 bucks to get my passenger window replaced which I found was extremely reasonable! Some spots were charging 150/210! I do say we did have quite a bit of a wait and didn't get much direction on how long it would take, we also saw our car sitting with the window replaced so we asked someone if it was done in order to pay. Honestly for the price, it's worth the wait. If you're looking for a straight to the point, get the job done kind of spot this place is for you! read more

Major praise to Raphael and the team at United Auto Glass. I arrived at my car yesterday evening to find the back window smashed and shattered. I called United based on reviews and within 2 hours time (on a Sunday morning no less!) I had a quote, appointment, and they replaced the rear window to perfection (2020 Rav 4). The price and quote were the same and the best price. Another place quoted me nearly double. I tipped because, man, they restored my window and faith in humanity -- and Raphael couldn't have been nicer. What a breath of fresh air. If you are waiting inside at the counter, just give a knock on the side service door or call. They are working hard and may not always be at the front desk. Sunday afternoon I discovered a rear passenger window had been broken on my vehicle. United Auto Glass was the only place I could find open and they were able to get me in an hour later. They were quick and the price was very reasonable. They also took the time to remove some stubborn tree sap that had gotten on my car, which I appreciated. Cut to Tuesday morning, two days later, and I discover my driver window has been broken out overnight and my vehicle rifled thru. Again, United Auto Glass was able to get me in within an hour and are currently replacing a second window for me within 48 hours. I am fan for sure. My rear divers side window got broken out while sitting in front of my building (that's Humboldt Park for ya). I was very distraught because it looked like I was going to be set back about $150 minimum for a new window. However, after talking to a friend they told me call United Auto Glass that they were reasonable. Thank god I did because they got me the window and installed it for $75 total. They didn't have my window in stock, but got it delivered within an hour and had it installed within a half an hour after that. Pretty good. Some advice though, they don't speak English well so be prepared to have some struggles if you don't have some basic Spanish speaking skills. Also, cash only. If you don't bring cash the closest ATM is at a grocery store two blocks away, and the neighborhood is not one I really wanted to walk around in. Overall, an almost perfect experience. read more

Valentines Day, 2009. I come to my car, and someone had thrown a fifth bottle through the windshield. This, combined with a bit of sadness about finding out my very recent ex was getting married in a week, I had no valentines day date, and a horrid hangover, really made V-Day special!! hahaha ... Believe me though, i saw the humour in it all. Well, I called my car guy (that I'd found through Craigslist) (btw, Craig cures all ailments) .. and he recommended United Autoglass on North. These guys fixed my car in about two hours, and charged 100 dollars less than my car insurance agency had quoted me. $117 for a new windshield! Not too shabby..... These guys are lifesavers. They replaced our cracked windshield and driver's side window within 24 hours of me calling them. They were the most affordable place I called, and they did a good job. Everybody was very patient and helpful. Just be aware that there could be a language barrier for some people. Edit: I noticed that the driver's side window now sticks a little when opening or closing, when it didn't before. It's not a big deal and I still recommend these guys, but I wish they'd done a little more testing before handing it back to us. PS, watch out for the cats when pulling in or out. They're cute little guys and I'd hate for them to get hurt :) read more

I have my windshield replaced two months ago on a car I was rebuilding. I dropped it off at the body shop for them to finish the body work and paint and in order to do that they had to take out the windshield. They had a windshield technician come to the shop to take out the windshield only to find out that whoever put it in which was united auto glass, and said they Did a piss poor job. They put sealant in the wrong spots and they installed it with a small crack that I couldn't see it because it was underneath the plastic. I will never return to this place again. I tried to work with the shop to get them to either refund it or just help credit me a little bit so I can pay the guy who has to now scrape out the old caulk that United auto put in and they won't do anything they said it's my problem. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR TINTS. TERRIBLE SERVICE. LOW QUALITY. I brought my BMW in to get the windows tinted and was provided the worst service I've seen on a tint job. There was no attention to detail and the quality was terrible. Not only did the tints have air bubbles, scratches and creases in the paper... but they left dirt all over my back seat and ripped the interior fabric. I called them the next day entirely displeased with their service and they had me come in to get it fixed. They ended up replacing the tints on all my side windows (which looked better) and mentioned they "fixed" the tint on my rear window. Unfortunately this was not the case... The shop is fairly dark, so it's difficult to see the details of their work until you're outside. The rear window was still below par and they claimed to not have "correct tool" to repair the ripped fabric. There was a younger man who was helpful the first time I went, but the rest of them don't speak English as well - which of course were the ones I had to explain the issues to. On top of all this, their waiting room is filthy to the point you won't want to sit on the furniture. They also do not have any heat, so if you make the poor decision of going here during the winter, bundle up! In any case - PLEASE save yourself the agony I've experienced and head to a real business that can provide you the quality service you deserve. read more
