I found the lice in my daughter's hair at 5:30pm on a Sunday night. I called Tiny Locks and spoke with Kim and by 6:30pm Andrea - my lice picker - was at our house. She was amazing! I am so thankful to Tiny Locks! I will admit, I'm a pharmacist and I have studied lice treatment in school. But, as a parent, I didn't even know my child had live until the school told me. Even with all the studying, I didn't see anything and just thought it must be a false alarm. I mean, I didn't see any of the bugs I remember from my textbooks. Then again, (once common sense sinks in), those pictures ARE magnified like 1000X. I digress. Anyway, as soon as the school told me at pick up, I immediately googled lice treatment and found Tiny Locks. The owner Kim matched me with Nancy and she was FANTASTIC! I love the fact that they come to our house. My daughter who is usually pretty shy quickly warmed up and was conversing with Nancy. Nancy did show me exactly what I was supposed to see and what the lice actually looked like (in their regular size). I also love that they used non toxic sprays. I'm so glad I didn't attempt to do this on my own, at least for the first time because, again, I wouldn't have even known what to look for before. But also, I'm a bit squeamish, so I probably would have screamed the first time I found a bug. I wanted to do a follow up update on today's appointment with Nancy . Last time she came to my home and immediately worked on my hair brushing nonstop everything out of my hair. A week from then I asked her again today if she can do a re comb to make sure I am absolutely free of any lice.As always so nice she re combed and we spoke about our plans etc. I am happily to say I was lice free. I was beside myself when I discovered lice in my 6 year old daughter and my 7 year old son, but I decided I would manage and get through it on my own. The next day when I found six live lice in MY OWN HAIR I had a minor melt down and called my mother on the east coast in tears. I am a newly single mom of three and exhausted as it is-- lice on three heads was just more than I could handle. I found tiny locks after my mother sent me links to a few different lice removal services. I called at 5pm on Monday and Alicia was at my house at 6:45pm the same day. She spent three and 1/2 hours on the three of us and didn't leave until 10:45! It is now Wednesday and I have done three recombs since (bc I am paranoid) of an hour each and I have literally found NOTHING. My daughter had so many on Monday before Alicia arrived that I could see them crawling around on her head and now her head is clear. Of course I will continue to recomb for the next week or two like I am supposed to, but I just had to write a review and express my gratitude. OK where to begin....It was 11 pm and I was brushing my 8 year old daughters hair who normally burshes her own hair but I wanted to make sure she was getting all the knots out since she has super curly long hair. Than that's when I seen the lice. This was our 1st time experiencing lice and i was stressed to the extreme. I had heard about lice clinics in the past but due to the great pandemic of COVID19 I knew most likely no salons were gonna be open. Kim & Liberty are sanity savers!!! I had been battling the little lice buggers for over a month. No matter how much I shampooed & combed my girls heads they kept coming back. The mini-monsters even jumped head & infected my niece. I finally gave in and called the professionals for help. Kim was very upbeat and professional over the phone, was able to get my family in at the best time for us. Kim is the boss and she has a few girls working for her that will come to your home - which is great for convenience & privacy. I got lucky and was able to be a training case for Liberty so I went to Kim's home which was located very close to me - she was AMAZING!!! My mom took my two girls (4 & 6) and Liberty was patient & thorough. My oldest has super thick hair of medium length and she was our carrier monkey so had a lot of nits and bugs - Liberty got EVERY SINGLE ONE!!! When Kim went thu to double check she didn't find one left. My mom has the same hair as my oldest and said that Liberty was great. My youngest has very thin blond hair & Liberty was gentle but still got all the lil buggers out. The whole thing took about 2 hours & Kim was there to supervise, offer tips and do a final check. I arrived after class & Liberty was still there so she did my head too - I have very long fine blond hair which tangles ridiculously easy when it's wet. Liberty had a great technique and hardly got any snarles & never hurt my head. I only had a few nits which she got and when Kim did the final comb thru there were none left. During the whole time Kim & Liberty chatted with me much in the was of a really good salon & offered many tips for dealing with then preventing re-infestation. She asked me what I had been doing & advised me where I had gone wrong - RIT lice shampoo does NOT work...the little buggers are growing resistant to it. Combing is the only thing that really works and you need to have a good lice comb. Kim has one which I believe is included in her fee (which is very reasonable considering she is saving your sanity). Not the most responsible people in the world. I was super panicked and called them at 8PM. Kim picked up the phone and was very reassuring and nice. She said that she doesn't have anyone for a home visit but will check for the next day and call us. We waited, the day passed and I called her to confirm for the evening. "Oh, I don't have anyone" was the answer. No apologies, nothing. By not alerting me earlier, she really put us in a bind. We could've made arrangements for someone else.
