This store has something for everyone. Their card section is one of the largest and most unique. You can most likely find a card there for any occasion. They also have so many pen options with a table where you can test them out. There are many gift options too. They are located in Union Square where there are many other stores and restaurants. Cute store. I've been in many times and purchased cards, decorations, journals, stationery, and pens. I don't plan to return, however. It is too cluttered and the customer service is just not nice. Once there was a tower of cardboard boxes blocking the glass display case. I tried to peek at the display case but was scolded for touching the pile of boxes. When I asked what was in the display case, they read me a long list of all the brands of pens they carry. Not really the "browsing" experience I was looking for. Another time I visited, there was a box of cards on the floor. I got on my knees to look at the box. An employee came quickly over and told me not to do that because I was blocking the aisle. I said that I wanted to look at the cards in order to pick some out, but I couldn't see them because they were on the floor. They solved the problem by picking up the box, setting it on top of another display, and waiting over me, blocking the aisle, while I chose the one I wanted. There are plenty of cards, notebooks, and decorations printed with words like s**t and f**k on them. Plenty of people (including myself) aren't offended by this, but it's worth knowing if you have young children and you don't want them to see profanity. read more

A visit to Tiny Turns just made the start of my year so much better. It's been a while since I've visited, so it was a delight to see the larger store on the street side of Bow Market, which they moved to in 2023. I didn't have time to explore the whole store (my little creature didn't have enough patience for shopping), but I will definitely have to come back. They've got so much good stationary to satisfy serious aficionados (fountain pens, Japanese and French brands, letterpressed cards, etc.), as well as a mountain of cute gift items that I could equally get lost in. But my agenda today was a paper planner, and thankfully their planners and calendars are still 20% off. Even though it's near the end of the "season," they still had a good selection from the class Leuchteum notebooks/planners to some brands I wasn't familiar with. I ended up picking up a Sooofa planner and a Hobonichi notebook (yes they have notebooks now, not just their planners!), plus some cute unique cards and stickers. (This was me being restrained.) The prices are more than you'd pay at larger chains like Paper Source, but the curation and focus on small brands and quality make it very worthwhile. I had a nice chat with the owner during check out and plan to be back very soon. It's totally worth pairing a stationary trip with a visit to Remnant Brewing for coffee or beer, or brunch/lunch at one of the many good restaurants in the area. read more

Cute shop that's always worth a visit. They used to be located on the second floor of Bow Market, though they have since moved to this larger space. Great selection of journals, planners, cards, pens, as well as miscellaneous items (home goods, fragrances, silly gifts) that are fun to browse. Staff are friendly and helpful. Oh my goodness, this was adorable stationery heaven! So glad we made time to visit this little shop while on vacation. I got to see so many Japanese planners in person that I had only heard of online! They also had a killer selection of pens and stickers. We also found our vacation-commemorating Christmas ornament here. So many fun things to look at, definitely a high point of our trip! It's inside the Bow Market in Somerville which has a lot of cute shops and restaurants, and is tucked away on the side, so you might have to look around to find it - Google maps seemed a little confused. Recently, I had a bit of an unfortunate communication and interaction with an employee there however I'm glad to report upon speaking with the owner. I was completely satisfied with the outcome of our conversation. She explained to me what she thought occurred and now that I have 2020 to rely on, I can see how that easily could have happened. She is extremely nice, rational, considerate and intelligent, and I appreciate her taking the time to hear me out. I plan to return and give her some business. read more

This is a wonderful stationery and gift shop! Besides an excellent selection of greeting cards, they offer a thoughtfully curated range of gifts, making it easy to stop in and pick up a card & present for a birthday, baby shower (or a pick-me-up for yourself ). The owner, Jen, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Love that the shop is Asian- and woman-owned, and that they are intentional in making the space an inclusive and welcoming one. **ATTN all Queers and allies** AVOID THIS RAINBOW CAPITALIST ESTABLISHMENT My (biopic) partner and I (2 women) live in the area and love the stores in Bow Market, so we visited this "queer, feminist" stationary store for a bday card. You know those stores that cater to the gays but when you get there you find it's only a rainbow show for our community to spend money on all the cute things? This shop is that culture. Do Not give them your money. The store front was extremely rude to us this last visit. Yes our last visit, as they have never been kind to us but simply runs our transactions and says thanks. Her rudeness was so sour that we felt it appropriate to say so- as they shoot back in negativity, we left our store findings never to look back. Being spoken to like a child, treated with unjust-karen-like angst by any store front is not my cup of tea. So if you'd rather continue having a nice day and not deal with a negative Nancy who seemingly hates their job, never go to "Tiny Turns Paperie" Huge disappointment for your locals. read more
