So I'm an avid DIY'er because I'm never really happy on how the job is done by just a run-of-the-mill tradesmen. I'm hooked on Mike Holmes of "Holmes on Homes" & his adage: "if you're going to do it?, do it right the first time" & Matt Risinger Future proofing forward-thinking Belt-&-Suspenders type of forethought & penchant for "doing" things. Did A DIY install of a Rinnai 199iN tankless water heater at our home. Plumbed in an A.O. Smith whole house pre-& post filters along with a A.O. Smith resin pellet water softener & whole house filter. Nice clean sealed closet in the middle of the duplex off to the side of the kitchen pantry closet. Ran into some issues after 4 years with it not lighting the burner (code 11) I think it was stating that the burners were not lighting. I did the usual maintenance flame rods cleaned then replace them with new, water inlet filters, water saver restrictions took those out in each of the POS water outlets. I still had a warranty on this appliance so I contacted Home Depot where I bought it from & they directed me to contact Tioga Plumbing. 817 phone# (I'm in the 214 area) so I wasn't sure whether they would extend their service area into the Dallas area, but they were not only kind on accommodating the request, but they actually showed up the next day. Kaison the Tioga-Tech Spent 2 hours going over everything with Tech Support on the phone - unbeknownst to me It was actually Rinnai Tech Support. Tioga plumbing & Kaison didn't fix it that day, but they did identify the cause & requested that RINNAI step up & Warranty cover the part which they said that they would. Just waiting on the part to be delivered before I call them back again to change out the gas valve. Apparently, it has an electromagnetic servo-valve that can go faulty. I usually use Medley HVAC who have recently adding Plumbing as their service portfolio however, I'm going to concentrate solely on using Tioga Plumbing from now on. Both CO's are excellent in not only their customer service delivery, but their attitude all things respectfully considered with Tyoga asking me if that once the part was delivered, I could choose to install it myself or just call them back & they would be happy to do it - they gave me a quote that was 1/2 of what I was expecting it to be. Tioga came on on emergency to fix a pipe that burst in the freeze. While here, it was discovered that I had an electrical wire in the water and the electrician was here quickly and both the plumbing and electrical were corrected quickly and efficently at a cost that was amazing! Both the plumber and electrician treated me with kindness and respect. They worked to correct a horrible situation and did it swiftly and professionally. I cannot recommend them enough! My water heart has a small leak and the company said it under full warranty for a full replacement great !! How ever this company Tioga knowing this. Decided it would be right to charge $2k for an install. Stay away from Tioga!! I wish I could rate 0 starts, but unfortunately, that's not an option. Our experience with this company has been nothing short of a disaster. From their unprofessionalism to their utter incompetence, I cannot stress enough how important it is to steer clear of this place. First and foremost, their customer service is abysmal. We initially called to fix a running toilet, they were quick to schedule an appointment. However, once they received payment, their attitude shifted entirely. Suddenly, getting a hold of them became a Herculean task, with endless waiting times and unreturned calls. After NOT fixing the toilet and saying we needed to replace it entirely. First question that was asked, do we need to just replace it? We were told "no, what I'm going to do will basically make it a brand new toilet." They wanted overall $1000 and they wouldn't apply ALL of what we previously paid, only half. The tech told us the other option is full refund. We asked for a full refund. Despite our insistence, they refused to issue a full refund, offering only a partial reimbursement that barely covered their shoddy workmanship. It's abundantly clear that Tioga cares more about their pockets than ensuring customer satisfaction. Their lack of interfaith and disregard for quality service is truly appalling. Called these guys to connect a gas dryer and, possibly, recess the gas valve. What I got was an explanation of how complicated it would be, reasons why they couldn't do certain things, etc and a $650 quote. Just to connect it and not modify it would be $300 or more. A local plumber just left and did everything I asked for $125 in 45 minutes. I was so happy I tipped $25 more. Tioga is clearly out to stick it to their customers with outrageous prices. read more

Honest and reliable company. We called Tioga to help my elderly mom sort out her complicated electricity issues. She had already hired another company to do several hundreds of dollars of work in her home; to no prevail. We were concerned that maybe another company would take advantage of her again and flew in from New York to help her get a solution. A rep from Tioga came to her house and gave us an honest and comprehensive outline of what the issue was. He also proposed solutions at different price points that would resolve her ongoing electrical issues. I requested a quote to install eight smoke detectors and lithium batteries that I was providing into existing hard-wired fixtures. They quoted $680 just to install the detectors. That is more than other companies quoted me to both provide and install the detectors. Certainly not good value for money! read more

I had Tioga out to my house a few months back to do some plumbing. They we're great! I needed some electrical work done. They were supposed to come on Thursday to give me a bid. The tech got caught up in a job that took longer than expected so I got pushed to Friday. Friday morning came and went. I called and was told that due to on demand scheduling they would be out to see me later in the afternoon. So at almost 2 pm on Friday afternoon, I got the call that the tech was on his way. I voiced my frustration to the lady but she gave my the company line that this was on-demand scheduling and I was free to go about my day and they would gladly give me a 30-minute advanced notice. I obviously don't understand how on-demand scheduling works but I am ok with that. From my perspective, as a customer that was supposed to be helped on Thursday, I should have been helped first thing Friday morning. read more

We called on Monday for an appointment for them to come out and unclog drain in our bathroom. They asked which day and time would be good and we said Thursday morning. They gave us a window of 11am to 1pm. Never a call to us during this time. Called them two times and said they were on an emergency and we were next in line. And she was just going to call me. Yeah right. Never heard from them again. Called again at 4:30 and said they were still on emergency and had never tried to call us. Terrible customer service. And what do they have, one plumber? We got there name from Home Advisors. Never again. I only had one day off this week and wasted it for nothing. Still can't use bathroom. read more

I hired Tioga to hang a fixture and drape two others. I bought all of the supplies needed but the J hooks needed for the draping, would not hold the weight of the fixtures. The electrician hung the one fixture and said he would get J hooks and I could reschedule. I did reschedule on my next day off which was a couple of months but reminded them who I was and why I had to reschedule. Came out again, without the J hooks, and said again, he would get them and they would hang Sat. I called two days before they day they were due to be there - he had not ordered the J hooks but would and call me to schedule. That was two weeks ago - no word about rescheduling....Will not use again. read more

***Buyer beware*** We used Tioga to redo the Sheetrock after we had our house rewired. After three days of not showing up and multiple excuses we let them start on our how. This should have been the first red flag. SY and myself walked through the house with what the expectation was. We noticed after the first day that there was a communication break down somewhere. Tho was mistake two because they sub contract out the work and don't have an in-house team like they lead me to believe. Again after talking with SY he reassured me that everything would be okay. So they continued on for the next few days and getting close to being finished and when we talked to SY about the quality of work he seemed uninterested and said he did everything he said he was. This is when I got Jerry the owner involved. He came to my house on a Monday evening and even he wasn't happy with the way it looked. At this time I was told by SY that certain work had been completed. So when the owner Jerry and SY left, I went to verify that the work had been completed that SY talked about. Guess what, the work wasn't completed. At this point I waited til the next morning and let Jerry know that I wouldn't be lied to and wanted to know what he was going to do. He said again that it was a miscommunication between SY and the third party they contract with. So Jerry said he would get SY out to fix all the issues we saw with the house. Unfortunately SY made the issues worse and the work done looks like garbage. Jerry has seen the pictures and knows I am not happy with the work. Even after the work has been completed, I have yet to hear from him to make sure we were satisfied with the work. This says a lot about the owner. I have spent close to $23,000 with this company and all they did was see the money and didn't care about the quality of work. The owner doesn't stand behind quality work and is just happy he got paid. Again beware when spending money with this company. read more
