I've seen two doctors at this clinic, (one who has become my family doctor) and have been very impressed by both. While it is sometimes difficult to get a receptionist on the phone, Summers Medical offers walk-in hours in addition to scheduled appointments.They even have Saturday hours! I had a regular doctor at another location and my last two visits there were not great ( I had appointments booked and ended up driving back home without seeing him . even one booked appointment I found out he was on vacation ). About a decade ago, I was injured at work and decided to stop in and see what they can do for me. I was introduced to Dr. Haroon Hamid. He took great lengths to listen and he genuinely cared about my well being. Since then , he became my personal doctor and has always been really professional and courteous. He is not one of those doctors that listens, grabs the prescription pad, makes a scribble and off you go. Thats just not him. Regardless of what others have said about the clinic and Dr Hamid , I have always found it to be the opposite. Staff are friendly and the wait times are not more than an hour ( if you do a walk in ). If you live close to this clinic and are looking for a good family doctor, this is the place I would recommend.

Dr. Akbar, who I unfortunately had to work with multiple times is dismissive and has rarely diagnosed me once correctly, leading to chronic back pain after she told me that "I was fine and I should rest for two weeks, and if it still hurts then check in again." Upon visiting a physiotherapist after the two week period, they said I was past the most crucial point of recovery and now was just working on pain reduction. I don't trust my medical state with her at all and am looking to change. Driving down there to hear her tell me I'm alright when I feel terrible is such a waste of time. The front desk is also very unprofessional, as once I was late to a phone appointment and apologized (as it was my fault) and they told me "Dr. Akbar is very angry at you right now and this is your final warning, else we will charge you $50." I have to say as a family physician I think it's a little irresponsible to not be available for patients that have working hours. I even went to the trouble of having my referral by a pediatric psychiatrist and assessment sent to his office . I was told by the front desk staff that he only sees walk - ins for coughs and colds . I was turned away, being told that he couldn't help us or see us as a walk in. I told her that I was hoping that he could take my child in as a patient , as that's what the website says. I told her It states on the website that he is taking new patients for long term follow up. I was told by her that he's not taking any new patients . If you are looking for a pediatrician for long term - I was told he's not taking new patients at this time. However ,if your child has a fever -- or cough or cold they will take you in as a walk in. I am a very disappointed parent, who was reaching out for medical advice , only to be turned away.
