What a fabulous winery in a quiet part of Ohio! My friend brought me here on a recent trip to…read moreYoungstown and this was a top notch evening! First the stunning views from the deck are exactly what one wants to see when sipping on wine and having charcuterie. The wines. I love you can do a flight at the table in addition to the tasting bar. This is a plus for me as someone who would like to take their time when trying multiple wines. I also live that you can add a single sample to any flight this is very customer friendly. The food. We ordered the charcuterie board (Def get it for 3+ people) and yes $30 may seen like a lot you get $30 worth of food and more. I left with two boxes! This is what I want for a lingering evening at a winery while having wine, visiting with friends and listening to easy acoustic music. Domenick was our server and he was such a pleasure. Knew the menu, knew answers to our questions, and was very friendly. (Everyone there was!) Cannot recommend this place enough for a night on the town if in the area.

Food was good. My only gripe is that I added shrimp to my salad and it was $7 for three grilled pieces. Loved the moscato and berry patch (I have a very basic palate)

I got the cider flight of "Unicorn Blood", "Burrows Berry Brew", "Pollyjose Potion", and "Scarlet Spell". They were all fantastic and we loved trying them all. It was close, but the Scarlett spell was my favorite with the cherry/watermelon taste. The atmosphere is so fun and the staff are fun to be around. We enjoy coming here every year and honestly should come more often.

We had such a good experience the first time, we had to come back again when we were nearby. My wife prefers dry wines, I prefer sweet wines, but I'm open to all types. We both found several things we like here and were pretty surprised at the quality of the wine. We did a flight each time we went and bought bottles to go when we left both times. We don't always buy bottles unless it's something we both can enjoy together. The place had a lot of character. Someone put a lot of thought and work into the decor, design, and atmosphere of the place. It was artistic and comfortable. I always appreciate that. We chose to sit at the bar both times, but enjoyed looking around at the walls and taking a trip up the stairs for a nice overhead view of the first floor. The service was great and really is the selling point for returning. It's the number one reason that we'll go back again when we're in town. The wine tasted great, the atmosphere was nice, but it's the service that puts this place over the top. Hopefully we will always have this experience, but I do believe we had the same couple serving us both times. I'd obviously highly recommend anyone who enjoys drinking wine, going to wineries, or trying out new places.

You can tell they put a lot of care into both the quality of the food and the presentation. If you're looking for great BBQ with generous portions and amazing taste, this place is definitely worth a visit. A Long Overdue Return to Mastropietro Winery…read more We finally made it back to Mastropietro Winery after seven years--and what a perfect day for it. It was a quiet winter afternoon, but with a surprising twist: a hot and sunny 77-degree day that felt more like early summer than mid-winter. Naturally, we took advantage of the weather and enjoyed our wine outside, soaking in the sunshine and peaceful atmosphere. I realized I'd never taken a photo in front of the iconic Mastropietro sign--so this visit felt long overdue in more ways than one. We sampled several wines during our visit, and I was really impressed. The Vidal Blanc stood out right away--off-dry, estate-grown, with just a touch of oak that gave it a subtle, elegant complexity. The Riesling was bright and delicious, and the Cabernet was smooth and easy to enjoy. But the real star for me was the Chambourcin--absolutely fantastic! If I heard correctly, it's 100% Chambourcin and estate-grown as well, which made it all the more special. Mastropietro continues to impress, and this visit reminded me why it's such a gem. Cheers to great wine, unexpected weather, and coming back to places that feel like home.

I really dropped the ball as I never took any pictures so I deserve a Yelp demerit. They offer red and white wines, beer, ciders and mead. On the food side they offer burgers, handhelds, flatbreads and a decent variety of appetizers. Now, I enjoy sweet wines as does my wife so we both had a few glasses of the Moscato which we really enjoyed. They do have a Cab, a Pinot and a blended dry that I did not sample. Now, the mead. I really liked it here and they boast having a 700 year old recipe that they use to make it. I really cant speak to the food as we only ordered a small cheese plate having eaten before meeting our friends here. I must say though that the burgers and things our friends ordered looked pretty damn tasty and they all said enjoyed there choices. A great time was had by all and looking forward to returning in the near future.

We were warmly greeted by Todd and Gina, the owners, who couldn't have been friendlier. Todd told us all about their wines, including the awards they've won, especially in California, and generously offered us the chance to try any of the wines at no cost. We started with the Gruner Veltliner, a bright, citrusy, and crisp wine. It was extremely dry compared to other Gruners we've had, which are usually more fruit-forward, but it was still quite enjoyable. Next, we tried the Riesling, which was also very good. My wife moved over to the semi-sweet side and tried the Traminette, which I eventually sampled after trying all the dry wines. We both really liked it. I then tried the Cabernet Franc, which was a medium-bodied wine with notes of raspberry, blueberry, and a light mocha oakiness--delicious! The Chambourcin was also quite good, without the typical bite or tartness. Lastly, the Flagship Red, a classic Bordeaux-style dry red, had a pleasant hint of pepper and was definitely a standout. Todd shared that they exclusively offer wines from Stony Run Vineyards in Breinigsville, PA, which has a wide selection. They're also planning to offer Old Fashioneds soon, as their winery includes a distillery, and they'll be featuring a "drink of the week" as well. What really sets this place apart, though, is Todd and Gina themselves. They're genuinely kind people who are dedicated to the community, and it was heartwarming to learn that they both served in the US Military--Todd in the Navy and Gina in the Air Force. We're already looking forward to our next visit when we're in the area again. Don't forget to thank them for their service when you stop by!
