No staff member would take any patient property, if it was lost, it was probably lost by the police during their struggle to apprehend the patient who was endangering themselves or others at the time they were taken into custody. Furthermore, nobody here was placed in restraints without them trying to hurt themselves, other patients, or staff members. The whole "they tied me down for no reason" rhetoric is garbage. You were restrained for safety purposes. I agree that SOME of the staff might not be as friendly as they could be, but dealing with drug addicts and people trying to hurt them all day has a tendency to make people standoffish. Patients come here because they need psychiatric help, not because they want a five star vacation. During my stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. I was never abused or neglected. I got the help I needed and I am alive and well today as a direct result. If you are thinking about hurting yourself or you are dealing with a psychiatric emergency, these people have the tools to get you through the tough time.
