Robert came out and spent over two hours, re-framing and re-hanging the tracks for the doors, making sure that everything was level and ran true during operation. This was appreciated because it was 29° out and I had just arrived home from vacation. John assessed the options, and got me inside very quickly through a back door without a smart key. Although he did have to drill out the cylinder in the deadbolt, he was able to replace it & rekey it on the spot. I'm comparison, when I called the only locksmith open at 7:00 am when I arrived home, he showed up with a crow bar and his solution was to break the door frame then drill out the smart key and replace it with deadbolt. Door Dummies is a legit father/son team using US parts and US labor you can trust. They put relationships over profit which is rare in this marketplace. Dual spring replacement should cost around $400-$500. It's unfortunate to learn there are other scammers out there charging $1000+ for these services with fake warranties to grandmas. I got bids on Yelp with people charging the the most, with the most reviews, and have the least valuable services if you look deep enough. It's good to replace both springs and potentially end plate bearings each time. Door Dummies will be honest if you need those replaced. Average spring life is about 7-10 years. It's worth contacting Door Dummies to check these out if you are in that age range. Getting stuck in your garage when they snap is dangerous. Door Dummies is a honest company and you should help them build this business on original North Carolina values.
