Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, because I was in the area sort of (Kingwood). It was almost closing time within 30 minutes. However, Jose-Luis made sure I had a great first experience. He provided great food suggestions and instructed the staff on how to assemble my tacos. I came for a couple tacos and walked out with four! Let me tell you...the tacos were very good. They had the homemade taste, made with real ingredients! Not a lot of processed stuff. You can taste the difference. While eating I didn't feel as if heartburn was knocking at the door. I'm very excited about the freshness and clean taste. Not overly salty. Some may need salt, but I appreciate the freshness! So excited. The ambiance is causal, with the feel of being at a neighbors house for lunch. Very relaxed. I guess me being from California, being used to fresh tasting tacos, this is a hit for me! When we went there was no line so it all went pretty fast. We got 6 tacos and 2 glass sodas about $26. For the tacos- I like onion and cilantro so didn't mind but they ask if you want c&c and they just throw it in all your tacos. So it's best to tell them just on these tacos. I wish they would cook the tortillas a bit more cus they do feel doughy and undercooked. We got egg and bacon there wasn't much flavor. Same for the barbacoa. For them making it "a la Mexicana aka with tomatoes,onions and pepper" it sure had no flavor. The salsa-red was spicy no flavor and I'm not a green salsa person but I ended up using that one more. Open for early breakfast to lunch six days a week (closed on Sundays), Tita's Taco House in Humble TX has been serving great tacos since 2019. It's been getting some recent positive press on- line, so my brother stopped in for some take-out tacos to try out with me. It's a locally owned restaurant, with an assembly-line of proteins and a well defined queue to wait. Fresh, homemade flour tortillas are the default wrap here, with a bell to be rung while in line to ask for corn tortillas. The idea here is that you will have your food (and pay for it) before you exit the line, making everything very efficient. No brisket tacos here, unfortunately, but they had barbacoa shredded beef. Requesting beans means getting a smear of thin refried beans on top of the tortilla before being filled. The two of us tried a variety of tacos, each of them around $3.50 for a 4 bite taco (any taco can get shredded cheddar added for $0.40 extra). Diced raw onion and cilantro can be added to any taco. The flour tortilla was excellent, actually tasting good instead of just being a vehicle for the meat...they easily could have been eaten by itself with a little butter. As for the meats, a standout was the shredded chicken and the egg, potato, chorizo omelet mixture. Could have just eaten 3 of that version and would have been fully satisfied. They have everything here to make a very good taco. They also offer quesadillas, but not a burrito option. Service was good, even with the proprietor checking in on us when we decided to eat-in (there were available tables to sit-down). Two choices of salsa (green or orange, both hot). Why 4 stars? Because it's a unique way to experience tacos in the motherland of tacos. --- --- --- Taco spots in Houston are over-indexed. There are a million options: from food trucks in a gas station parking lot where no english words are spoken, to competitors to Chipotle where no spanish words are spoken, and everything in between: if you want tacos, you have unlimited options. Titas popped onto my radar years ago when it made one of those Top Restaurants in Houston on Yelp. But I'm in Humble very rarely, so I've just never really had the chance to go. But I was landing back at IAH and saw that it was only slightly out of my way home, so I figure this was as good a time as any. I was curious why there were no pictures of the menu on Yelp, and now I have my answer: there is no menu. There are about 20 different kinds of taco meats, placed in containers under a sneeze guard. I walked up and said, "this is my first time here," and the girl took a deeeeepppp breath before proceeding to tell me what all of the options were. To be honest, I didn't love this style of ordering. It was hard to hear her as she was going through each one, and she was talking pretty fast, so I pretty much threw out four different kinds. One of them was egg based, one was sausage, one was beef and one was chiccaron. Beyond that, I couldn't even tell you anything more specifically than that. They were all enjoyable, but they also didn't even really taste that different from each other. But bottom line: I had a late night in Chicago the night before, woke up early, flew to Houston, and this was my first meal. It absolutely, 100% scratched the itch that needed some comfort food. And I ordered a slice of strawberry cake for dessert - I'm not sure what kind of cake it was, but this was the best part of my meal. No-doubt 5-stars for that. Another interesting thing about this experience is: you get your tacos and grab a drink out of the cooler, and then you just pay at the end. You don't even have to mention what kind of tacos you ordered because they all cost the same amount. My 4 tacos, slice of cake and 2 drinks were really cheap too. I have been going to this place for many years bc of the great food and great service. I was disappointed and embarrassed by the owner on July 11. I worked an overnight shift and wasn't off til 5 am. I was tired and hungry, so I picked up my young daughter and headed to Tita's tacos, arriving at 5:30 am. They don't open till 6 am so her and I waited in the car for them to open. While we were waiting, a homeless person starts banging on our car windows and wouldn't go away. Once the homeless person appeared to be gone, my 4 year old daughter and I ran to the entrance of the business and knocked on the door to see if they would just let us sit inside and wait bc we felt unsafe. We knocked over and over and the workers laughed at us, didn't open the doors to even ask what was going on, and kept going about their work duties. We went back to our car and locked the doors and the homeless person came back again, so I had to call the sheriffs department, which showed up immediately and handled the situation. Once the business opened, my daughter and I went inside and ordered tacos and as I was ordering I told one of the workers I didn't appreciate being laughed at when my daughter and I knocked on their door and the owner immediately began yelling at me not only in front of other customers, but in front of my 4 year old little daughter. I told him I didn't feel safe outside so I needed help when we were knocking on the door and he began yelling very loudly and aggressively saying he didn't have time for this "Bull***t and to get the f out", I told him I even had to call the sheriffs office because of the situation and he said he didn't "give an f" and to "get the f" out. My little girl cried all the way home bc of how afraid she was at the owner yelling that aggressively. I have never been treated or spoken to by a business owner that way and it was degrading to say the least. It was unnecessary and sad bc I always found the owner pretty friendly. But, maybe he was having hard morning. Regardless, he mishandled the situation and probably misread the situation at hand and opted to verbally degrade us in front of customers and kick us out. If I wasn't with my 4 year old it would not have bothered me as much, but the fact that he did this in front of my innocent child was uncalled for. 0/10 professionalism. read more

Terrible service and employees. The last time I went, I was assaulted because I started cussing. We have tried for quite some time to eat here. Our hours generally don't jive, so I was super excited when it worked out that Tita's was open and we could stop by. I have heard for years that this place was amazing from teachers I know that work around here. They were absolutely correct. First of all, the line is to the left when you walk in. They were pretty empty when we came in, so we were a little disoriented. If you want corn tortillas, ring the bell and hold up your fingers in how many you want. You also pay as you leave, not when you order. The coffee is delicious, so I recommend it. Y'all, the tortillas are amazing. We ordered the flour just because we were disoriented. They were amazing. I will definitely try to corn next time. We ordered several different breakfast tacos. They were all so good. Yum! Line gets pretty long for breakfast but the staff works very efficiently so it doesn't feel like forever to get through it. There's one lady steady making tortillas (ring the bell in the line for corn tortillas, then once asked, shout out how many you want) there were multiple people talking orders and stuffing tacos then take it up front to pay. The fresh squeezed OJ was a great addition to our meal. Green sauce is where it's at. Mix and match your favorite ingredients. Best tacos in Humble! Authentic, flavorful, and the owner/employees are super friendly--service is always on point. The meat and veggie selections are always perfect and never disappoint! I'm hooked--like a taco-loving crackhead sneaking tacos at 3 a.m. It's that addictive for me! I don't live in the area, so I try to take advantage whenever close by. From egg breakfast tacos to stewed meats tacos, they offer a nice selection of delicious options. You will have the option of adding a thin layer of refried beans to your tacos, which I recommend! The chicharon they offer is the nice meaty kind. The barbacoa is succulent. The tortillas are made fresh in store, and you have the option of flour or corn. Don't forget to ask for limes, and don't forget some tasty salsa verde and roja! There's plenty of space indoor and outdoor on the patio, though the patio could definitely use a makeover. I honestly missed this place driving by. Didn't notice it. It looks like an industrial shack outside. Then you see the Hollywood stars on the entrance walking in.
