Open for early breakfast to lunch six days a week (closed on Sundays), Tita's Taco House in Humble TX has been serving great tacos since 2019. It's been getting some recent positive press on- line, so my brother stopped in for some take-out tacos to try out with me. It's a locally owned restaurant, with an assembly-line of proteins and a well defined queue to wait. Fresh, homemade flour tortillas are the default wrap here, with a bell to be rung while in line to ask for corn tortillas. The idea here is that you will have your food (and pay for it) before you exit the line, making everything very efficient. No brisket tacos here, unfortunately, but they had barbacoa shredded beef. Requesting beans means getting a smear of thin refried beans on top of the tortilla before being filled. The two of us tried a variety of tacos, each of them around $3.50 for a 4 bite taco (any taco can get shredded cheddar added for $0.40 extra). Diced raw onion and cilantro can be added to any taco. The flour tortilla was excellent, actually tasting good instead of just being a vehicle for the meat...they easily could have been eaten by itself with a little butter. As for the meats, a standout was the shredded chicken and the egg, potato, chorizo omelet mixture. Could have just eaten 3 of that version and would have been fully satisfied. They have everything here to make a very good taco. They also offer quesadillas, but not a burrito option. Service was good, even with the proprietor checking in on us when we decided to eat-in (there were available tables to sit-down). Two choices of salsa (green or orange, both hot). Credit cards are accepted.

Why 4 stars? Because it's a unique way to experience tacos in the motherland of tacos. --- --- --- Taco spots in Houston are over-indexed. There are a million options: from food trucks in a gas station parking lot where no english words are spoken, to competitors to Chipotle where no spanish words are spoken, and everything in between: if you want tacos, you have unlimited options. Titas popped onto my radar years ago when it made one of those Top Restaurants in Houston on Yelp. But I'm in Humble very rarely, so I've just never really had the chance to go. But I was landing back at IAH and saw that it was only slightly out of my way home, so I figure this was as good a time as any. I was curious why there were no pictures of the menu on Yelp, and now I have my answer: there is no menu. There are about 20 different kinds of taco meats, placed in containers under a sneeze guard. I walked up and said, "this is my first time here," and the girl took a deeeeepppp breath before proceeding to tell me what all of the options were. To be honest, I didn't love this style of ordering. It was hard to hear her as she was going through each one, and she was talking pretty fast, so I pretty much threw out four different kinds. One of them was egg based, one was sausage, one was beef and one was chiccaron. Beyond that, I couldn't even tell you anything more specifically than that. They were all enjoyable, but they also didn't even really taste that different from each other. But bottom line: I had a late night in Chicago the night before, woke up early, flew to Houston, and this was my first meal. It absolutely, 100% scratched the itch that needed some comfort food. And I ordered a slice of strawberry cake for dessert - I'm not sure what kind of cake it was, but this was the best part of my meal. No-doubt 5-stars for that. Another interesting thing about this experience is: you get your tacos and grab a drink out of the cooler, and then you just pay at the end. You don't even have to mention what kind of tacos you ordered because they all cost the same amount. My 4 tacos, slice of cake and 2 drinks were really cheap too. Affordable comfort food with nice people - I understand the Titas popularity after one visit.

Good food and great service I will be returning to this place as often as I can. The guy that fix the tacos is the best.

Always delicious!!! They home make their tortillas on the spot and offer both corn and flour tortillas. With a variety of meats and taco fillings, you can never go wrong with anything you choose! My favorite place for breakfast tacos! Everyone is super nice and although it fills up every single day, they move fast and are efficient and you're never in line for too long! Absolutely delicioso!!!

I am so thankful I had Titas bookmarked in my Yelp app so that when I was in the neighborhood, it popped up as a saved location. I was lucky enough to be there in a day with barbacoa on the menu. It is a delicacy that many places attempt and few do well. Titas nailed the taco. Flavor without grease, wrapped in a fresh flour tortilla that was chewy and light. Heaven. I added a potato and egg taco and added chorizo and egg to it. It was just like I make them at home. I wish I lived closer. It was an excellent experience.

Don't see a menu? Don't worry--just ask José to make you a few of his favorites. You are not gonna believe the service here.

Not much more can be said about this amazing place and its delectable selection of breakfast tacos. We moved from Houston more than a year ago, and this is one place I'd be happy to hit up if we come back to visit (which, for a massive town like Houston, is saying quite a bit). The guy at the point-of-sale was always super friendly, the ordering system is quick, there's always enough comfortable seating in spite of the constant crowd - and the place is always poppin!

Solid taco house and good spot if you're on that side of town. Usually get some tacos to go. No complaints.

We ordered pupusas, barbacoa, and a burrito. The pupusas were AMAZING (we got the kids' one), and they came with rice and beans that were also really good. The barbacoa came with two tortillas and was flavorful without being overly sweet, which I really appreciated since I'm not a fan of sweet barbacoa. My mom had the burrito and felt it could've had more flavor, but overall the food was still solid. The staff was super friendly, the bathrooms were clean and nice, and it was a comfortable spot to grab lunch. Definitely a great place to stop if you're hungry and want a satisfying, casual meal. Waited about 15 minutes for Freshly made pupusas that come with tasty curtido and salsa, included. ( bean and cheese), and an order of platanos fritos that came with black beans and crema; portions large enough to share. The pupusa is one of the largest I have gotten, and the consistency and flavor were exactly the way I remember them from my time in El Salvador; authentic and delicious. Cost was $20 total, but would easily have fed two, and I have enough leftover for lunch, tomorrow, so a good value, for good food! Don't miss this spot; they have juices, and bottled and canned drinks, too. Will surely be back to enjoy more good food from their menu!

With a total of 43 dollars for a burrito (HUGE) and 8 street tacos with two beverages, it was pretty affordable and very filling. You can definitely spend $15 and leave very satisfied. I figured it would be a hidden gem! It was a food truck tucked away. There was ample seating and a cat that was just wandering around begging for food. There were other patrons when I arrived. Service: I walked up to the window and ordered my tacos, for 5 tacos, a quesadilla and two cokes came out to $25. I felt it was a little pricy, however based on the reviews I figured they could charge a little more. I ordered the food and they gave me a ticket, about 10-15 minutes later they called me to pickup my food. The photos below showed how delicious these tacos looked. Food: the food looked amazing but that is all it had going for it. The meats were all tasteless, the only one with some sort of flavor was the carnitas. They had a pickled onion on it, normally it's picked with vinegar but it was apple cider vinegar. It tasted a little off for a combination of flavor. The tortillas were fried, which added a crunch to the tacos. There was an excessive amount of oil from the tacos that dropped down. It was a little off putting. The cokes were delicious however but those are imported and not made here. I would not believe the other reviews as I was not impressed by this place at all. I had a cancelled flight and wanted tacos to pick me up, but left disappointed.
