    Kenco Pools Spas and Billiards

    Kenco Pools Spas and Billiards

First off my pool looks wonderful. The contractor who installed it and his guys worked quickly and…read morewere very professional and communicated with me daily about what was going on. Dealing with the people directly at Kenco was a huge headache. I felt like I was frequently lied to and if I wanted information I was repeatedly told only one employee knew what was going on. It took almost an entire month after my loan approval to get put on the calendar at all. My home insurance was harassing me for a date so I called probably weekly. My old pool was excavated in the beginning of July and after a week of nothing else being done I called to ask what was happening and was told they were waiting on delivery of the walls. Ok, great, not their fault but would have been nice to be informed. At this point I also let them know the excavation team had left food wrappers, cups and cigarette butts in my yard along with scattered rubble, boards with rusty nails sticking up and my burn pit moved onto my wood deck and turned upside down (it did not just get tipped over, it was more than 4 feet from it's original location with no trail of ashes elsewhere). I was told "sorry" and "we will clean it up." Several weeks passed and no one came. I had to call again and ask to have someone come out. A very nice young man was sent out and he cleaned up promptly and made sure to ask me if there was anything else he could do before leaving. The walls were delivered and no one came to work. I waited and finally called was told next week. Next week came and went, called again, the guy is on another job, next week. David got there the very end of that next week and everything moved quickly from there. Pool was finished beginning of September. Two months for a job I was told would take two weeks and then was changed to three weeks. I know stuff happens and weather was also an issue so not all of the two months was anyone's fault but most of that time wasn't weather and clear, precise communication or even basic communication without me having to hunt information would have made me a much happier, understanding customer. Some damages were done but that's to be expected with big machinery required and Kenco made most of it right except my retaining wall (I'll get to that) and a repair to my steps that I was told they "have not forgotten about" back in September. The retaining wall: they claimed they "had to" tear the wall down because they moved the pool over. I will attach a photo in the comments of before and after to show pool was not, in fact, "moved over." When we were originally quoted for the pool work, we opted not to include the wall in the work we wanted done because we were going to save up money and install a block wall in the Spring. They put the destroyed wood back up...sort of. The old wall was not in great shape and the only photo I have of before is not great but you can see what was put up in it's place is really not comparable. The old wall was at least holding mud back with landscape fabric, a drainage pipe at it's base and came out further into the hill and would have given us some time through the rainy season to not have to constantly dig ditches attempting to save our new drain we just paid to have installed from filling up with dirt. It is very unfortunate that although I have a beautiful pool I am left so frustrated because I like to recommend companies but the frustration definitely outweighs the product in this case and I will be dealing with them in the future only as needed.
