Has in-person Voting changed since the last time I did this (been Voting by Mail since 2001). Located on the North end in the newly constructed Baldwin County Government Building, the Registration and Elections Office is state of the art! Everything is computerized! When I walked in, I was immediately waited on by a Poll worker. She scanned my Drivers License (took 2 attempts). Then, before handing me over to another Poll Workerb she handed me a document to sign. The next Poll worker pointed to a box of styluses, and asked me to take one. He then handed an Electronic Voter's card to another Poll Worker who embedded the chip with my information on it. Then, they handed me off to another Poll Worker who escorted me to a Voting Booth, and showed me how to use it. After voting, a document with a barcode on it came out of the dedicated printer. The Poll Worker then escorted me to another station where I turned in the stylus, and the printout that I had gotten a moment earlier. Then, he handed me my Voters button. Sounds like a complicated process. But, other than having to rescan the barcode on my License, it was a fairly quick process.

Beth, the agent that I spoke with, was very helpful in not only getting me information on auto insurance. But, as Renters Insurance. So, after giving her the pertinent information over the phone, I said that I would stop by a bit after 4 this afternoon. Well, when I got there, she was just finishing up with another client. So, I didn't have to wait more than a couple of minutes. We were able to get my new auto and renters policies done. And, since my current Insurance Company was the most reasonable, it didn't take too long to take care if it. However, I did get a pleasant surprise... After talking to Beth on the phone, I had expected my premiums to go up. But, they actually dropped. And, it was enough to cover my Renters Insurance, and still put some cash in my pocket. 8-) Beth was very knowledgeable, and helpful.
