The Mexican Plate was delicious. Freshly prepared and very flavorful. The chile relleno (stuffed pepper) in the dish was one of the best I've ever had with a nice spice. Food came out in about 15 minutes. I would pass on the Horchata, it's alright. Restaurant ambiance was nice and the hostess/server was very friendly even with me coming in an hour before closing. Great dining experience after a long day of hiking started as soon as we walked in the door. Stephanie was very friendly and attentive! The homemade guac and ice cold beverages in metal cups very refreshing but the real treat was the green chicken enchiladas and chicken fajitas! Everything was hot, delicious and fresh! I decided to celebrate the morning of my birthday at Tivo's Place on a whim while traveling out of town. My boyfriend and I started with the fresh chips and salsa and Tivo's Place was already proving themselves to be a good restaurant. We read good things about their chilaquiles, but unfortunately, they had just stopped serving breakfast. Our waitress kindly asked the kitchen to make an exception and I'm so glad she did because these green chili chilaquiles are INCREDIBLE! At the end of the meal, our waitress surprised me with a tres leches cake topped with a sparkling candle, and had to entire restaurant singing happy birthday to me. I was touched by the warmth and kindness I felt at Tivo's and can't wait to come back when I'm in town again. read more

The food was AMAZING! It tasted authentic and best of all FRESH. We had the beef fajitas and the green chicken enchiladas. Both were fantastic. I especially loved the Mexican rice that came with both dishes. Not many choices in Terlingua so since Tivo's was near our accommodations we chose it for a late lunch. A unique older woman greeted us, seated us and took our drink orders (the horchata is house made and delicious, not overly sweet like those mixes). Turns out the lady was co-owner with her husband Tivo, the cook. The enchiladas, beans and rice were authentic, if a little strong on the chili powder. The experience was as memorable as the food. The food here is average and the location on basically every app is wrong. You will not have service anywhere in the surrounding area so remember this - this establishment is really close to Terlingua Ranch Rd. You will get charged for water here and they will include an automatic tip when you pay. I'm all about supporting local businesses, but the food and service here were just mediocre. Great food! I got the flautas which were good, but my husband got the fajitas and they were fantastic!! The woman who runs the place is all business. She is not mean, like another reviewer said. We cannot expect every hostess to be effusive. And we can't expect lightning fast service from a restaurant with so few staff members and unpredictable crowds. It was slower than what I would expect in the city, but life in west TX just moves at a slower pace. I do agree with another reviewer than Terlinguans hate tourists. They have such limited resources and tourists gobble of gas and groceries. Tread lightly when you visit Be aware that a dog without personal boundaries may great you when you open your car door. First a warning about the location. The map that Yelp has is not accurate. Assuming it's the same Tivos, the restaurant is 12 miles north on 118. Drive north until you think there is no way that there is a restaurant ahead and then - there it is! The guacamole and chips were great. The enchiladas verdes had too much cheese for me but that was my fault for not ordering them the way I wanted them. The chile relleno that my husband had was good but stuffed only with cheese. Great food and service near Terlingua. We stayed at the Ten Bits Ranch and wanted to grab something quick. This place was 8 minutes away, with 6 of those being our driveway. We showed up around 6 pm, and there wasn't a car in the parking lot, and all of the lights were off. We went in anyway, and they were open, but we were the first customers. Considering this was spring break, that wasn't a great sign. But we went ahead and ordered. The food was all really good and cooked to order. It's a Mexican place but I got a burger. We watched her make the patty by hand. The guacamole was made on the spot, too. My youngest had chicken tenders ofcourse and my oldest and wife split fajitas. When you drive up, the outside is well kept, but the interior is mich nicer. The ambiance is traditional, and everything was very clean and well cared for. I don't usually order the hamburguesa, but it was exceptional. And the fries were potatoes until we showed up. We were mixed on the fajitas. They were good and I would order them again but I think my burger and fries ruined them for me. Definitely a hidden gem anyone staying at the Ten Bits Ranch should try.
