Finding a photographer for a surprise proposal is daunting enough. The first family photos we took at Salt Creek and they totally accommodated my son's nap schedule. They were really warm and friendly with my son who was 18 mos at the time and that made the entire experience really enjoyable. Those photos are so beautiful and we constantly receive compliments on them. We also set up newborn photos recently and the experience was wonderful. Rachel recommended that they come to my house for the photos. A lot of other newborn photographers have you go to their studio and they limit the amount of people you can photograph. When you are sleep deprived, having the photos taken at your house is so so so much easier and less stressful. Humble (in fact I'm pretty sure he didn't have a Yelp till recently and never even asked for a review even though he could've totally asked and I would have) What I mean is he's just cool. He's not salesy, or entitled, or impersonal. He is just a cool dude! You'll see. He captured the tiny, special moments of my most special day with my husband and I in a way I couldn't have even prayed for. Consultation, phone calls, text messages, follow ups... Then coffee! Ann got back to me immediately and we set up everything over e-mail. She had endless location suggestions and helped us decide on the Camp in Costa Mesa. (Highly recommend it if you're looking for a quirky, modern location.) Secondly, Ann was an absolute pro at making an uncomfortable process fun and easy. She had a myriad of great ideas and was open to anything we wanted to capture. Lastly, the photos are stunning. There's a little more risk involved when shooting on 35mm and Ann clearly knew what she was doing. She shot everything on film and a handful of photos using a 1950's Mamiyaflex and every photo came out beautifully. Not only were the photos gorgeous but having that subtle film grain made them feel even more special. I can't say enough good about Ann or her photos.
