This TJ Maxx is more on the disappointing side. The store is on the smaller side and the selection is limited, especially for men. The store seems to carry a lot more items for women (though that's fairly normal). Though each section of the store is fairly small with limited selection you can still find some great deals. I'm just used to much bigger stores with more items. Service seems good enough; I didn't buy anything didn't have any interactions. read more

TJ Maxx is fun. There are a bunch of neat stores in this plaza, Shoppes at UTC. I got some exotic snacks here and admired the squishables while people watching. The new Trader Joes is in the same plaza and lots of eateries. Good times! read more

I never shopped TJ Maxx before moving to this area. I've never had one close enough to go to it often. I've found this store has more of quality of items compared to similar stores. I have bought a few items that I have really liked and someone asked if I had gotten one from a boutique brand. And I like that item much better than shirts purchases from a boutique brand. I highly recommend TJ Maxx and will definitely shop there again. It may take you time to go through the sections and pick out items you like but it is worth it. read more

I'm happy with this new addition to the stores at UTC, and although not connected to HomeGoods it is right next store. It is smaller than some, or maybe just less real estate is devoted to clothing. When its this close to a HomeGoods I question using any of it for home goods. There seems to always be a good quantity of Michael Kors and Kate Spade bags and purses, although as we all know from shopping these stores not the same selection you'd get at the actual designer store or the department store. I was actually able to pick up a bag I was looking for at the time, for travel. There's a lot of luggage and shoes. I will say the clothing selection is less than I was expecting, and is slightly disappointing - nonetheless I still stop in every time I am shopping in this plaza. read more

All though this store just opened recently it feels very outdated. The merchandise they carry is not what you think a TJ Maxx would accept. I have been here many times to try to find great items but I have never left with anything and that is bizarre for me. This store just doesn't do it for me unfortunately. This is one of the worst TJMaxx stores I've been in. As a recent year round resident of Longboat Key I looked forward to the opening of this branch. It is so low end both in store design and merchandise. In all fairness I have been very surprised by the caliber of the big chain stores in the university mall area. I would have thought that the demographics were a higher income than what the stores have obviously decided to cater to. Home goods, Marshall's, all with the same parent company is understandable but Bed Bath Beyond, SteinMart, Nordstrom Rack are equally as poor. read more
