I wish I got his name but I believe he is the general manager. He has incredible customer service and has such a great positive attitude. I came in a few weeks ago when the building was under construction and the dressing rooms were closed and he was very apologetic to an individual who was wanting to trying something on and was still able to help them. I came in again today and the checkout line was very long and he was helping out the best he could and telling all the customers "thank you guys for the long lines we're getting some more help up front and we'll make sure everyone is taken care of!" I absolutely looove TJ Maxx! The store is clean and organized. You'll never know what treasures you might find. I found a beautiful designer dress for only $24.99 with a $78.00 retail price tag on it. Every time I'm in TJ Maxx I can't help but to check out every department. I was shopping in this location today when a tornado warning was issued. The staff quickly ushered shoppers into the stores restrooms and fitting rooms for shelter. They explained the entire time why we needed to take shelter in these two locations only and assured us they would keep us posted on the situation. They updated us several times on the progression of the storm. They made sure everyone had a stool or chair to sit on while we waited out the hour until the tornado warning expired. They even passed out water, fruit snacks and single serving bags of chips to whomever wanted them. As soon as the all clear was given, they thanked us all of being patient. I honestly don't think the staff could have handled the situation any better. Great job tjmaxx staff! read more

I don't expect TJ Maxx to be great...they're usually dirty, poorly organized and kinda seamy. This one impressed me...I had 3 people ask me if I could be helped and actually follow through, not act like their just trying to defer shoplifting (which is probably the point but they didn't feel judge-y.) Couldn't find socks in my size, after checking 2 places, the guy helping me found the right pair. I was in and out in 10 minutes with exactly what I came for. I stopped here to pick up a birthday gift for a party a couple of days ago. I was happy to find an inexpensive, but perfect little gift for the occasion. However, when I got home I was very disappointed to find the item was not in my shopping bags. After searching my car, I called the store, and they apologized that the item had not gotten out in the bag, and politely offered to hold it for me until I could come back to get it. I explained that it was for a party in a few hours and I really didn't have time to return to the store. Then they put the manager, Daryl (spelling?) on the phone. I explained what happened and he was very apologetic and again offered to hold the item. At this point, i took a chance and asked if there was anyway someone could deliver to me. (I never actually expected this to happen). Much to my surprise, Daryl offered to bring this inexpensive little item to my house on his lunch break!!! I was blown away. I had the same thing happen to me at another store over the holidays and they did not handle it nearly as well. I have always been a fan of TJMAXX, but want to give a huge shout out to Daryl who went above and beyond for me. read more

TJ Maxx can be hit or miss. But overall, they usually have something I like at a reasonable price. I always check out their handbags, shoes and housewares. For shoes, I have gotten some great brands for cheap, but sometimes the selection is obviously the shoes no one else wanted. But I can usually find a decent pair of black heels for work and flats for every day. The housewares has a lot of great staple kitchen and home goods. I bought my wine glasses and tumblers here, as well as all of my Polish painted pottery that I've slowly accumulated over several years. At full retail price, I would NEVER be able to afford this pottery so I'm extra happy with those purchases! My mom always buys her handbags here and they have a great selection of luggage as well if you're in the market. I would also check them out for kid's clothes and toys. I don't really shop in their clothing section anymore, as the clothes I have purchased where either 1. fit poorly, 2. had weird fabric care instruction 3. just not my taste. Overall, TJ Maxx is definitely a good place to shop. You never know what you'll find! read more

This was the most awkward shopping trip I've ever had. I like TJ MAXX because it's cheap and local to my house. I felt the entire time i was being "watched" as if I was going to steal something. Ok Ok I get it , in retail you have to watch for lost prevention but this was over the top. There was 6 girls who probably were high school students who have no idea what customer service is . I will never return to this location. They gave me dirty looks and came up behind me as if they were sneaking up on me.Well I payed for my stuff so whatever , I would never steal from a store. Not to mention it was dirty and they had half empty products on the clearance table. read more

TJ Maxx customer service was terrible. The workers were rude and made me feel very uncomfortable through what should have been a very simple exchange. I bought a shirt in the wrong size by accident, and was not able to return it. I was not even able to exchange it. I canceled my card after this experience- mentioning this reason. I had purchased this item on my store credit card, but unfortunately had forgotten the receipt in my car where my husband and toddler were waiting for me to run in and out and get this errand done. The store couldn't just look up my purchase on my card, I had to go to my car and get the receipt. So while everyone behind me waited, as well as my family, I ran to my car, grabbed the receipt, my credit card, the shirt and ran back in to make the exchange. Thinking I had all I needed, they asked for my license (which I had forgotten at home) and although I had my in-store card, they would not let me switch the item. They had all my information on file, and I was upset they were not able to make the exchange. I am a very polite person, very accommodating, and very disappointed in this store. From now on I'll go down to Kohl's on the other end of the parking lot where exchanges are made simple. read more

Buyer Beware. I bought my 11-year-old an purse that was still rather high dollar for what it was (brand name) because it was exactly right for her age and needs. She took the tags off. The first time she is using it we see the front bottom pocket is completely falling off - stitching totally undone and inside she finds a movie ticket from another state :( I dug the now wet and only partially readable tag out of the trash to try and return the purse. When I called the store they said they need tags and receipt for the return. This would normally be acceptable - but not when we have a completely defective item and it has been clearly USED. So you may find some fun and random stuff here - but is it worth the risk? Because we didn't plan on returning this purse we have no receipt and an unreadable tag. We are out $50 plus tax and our time. They do NOT do credit card look up for returns - which is very convenient for them. And as is typical - employees that have no real reason to care. read more
