Huge TJMAXX fan, I'm practically at one once a week. With that being said, this location on Union TPKE is hands down the worst on the East coast. Sat in line for 27 minutes to purchase two things, while I watched only two other registers open while three employees stood behind them gossiping and hanging up clothes, instead of opening another register. There's a wrinkly ass white woman with blonde hair and glasses that takes the cake as worst employee I've ever seen. She let an employee who was off the clock cut the entire long lin so she could return clothes. That was the only time the old white women ever went to a register - to help an employee instead of a customer. She just sat on her phone while everyone else worked. I will continue to post on this place everytime I go, with the goal of removing that woman from her position. Such a selfish human being. Pictures will come next! read more

1start is too much. What horrible experience to start this holidays shopping. Worst customer service. Worst store I've ever visited. Just a few minutes ago I tried to make a purchase and the cashier #6 told me I had to buy a bag. I told the cashier I only needed a paper bag, and she rudely and repeatedly told me they didn't have any paper bags. I asked again how, in a store as big as that, they didn't have a single paper bag. Her response was, rudely, no, no, no. The cashier or manager at the next register, register #5, just looked at me mockingly. They have no idea what customer service means. read more

Only shop at this TJ Maxx when I am in the neighborhood. They have huge selection of handbags and priced reasonably. See luggage too. Lots of snacks sold too. Lot's of sales to be had. They have a little bit of everything when it comes to home goods. There are limitations with the amount of shoes. Staff friendly. Bring your own bags. Will be back again. read more

There are plenty of street parking, you pay the meter or a few blocks down is a residential neighborhood so you can find free parking. read more

I come to this TJ Maxx only when I'm in the area. There is free residential parking on the streets behind TJ Maxx. The parking in front of the store is metered so I never park there. There is also a parking garage entrance right next to the TJ Maxx but I have never used that either because there is free parking in the area. In terms of shopping, it's always a hit or miss with these type of stores since you never know what they're going to carry. This store consists of two floors, the top floor (where you walk in) has women's handbags, luggage, women's body care, accessories (i.e. beach towels/hats/scarves/sunglasses), shoes, snacks, and a counter for men and women's jewelry. The lower floor has housewares such as furniture, kitchen items, men and women's clothing, women's undergarments and children's items. The fitting room is also on this level. I went to this location today and the kitchen area was a huge mess and cramped. There also didn't seem like much variety when it came to the women's clothing and shoes. They have both elevators (on the main floor they're located by the shoe section and on the bottom floor they're located by the pots/pans) and escalators. If you're purchasing jewelry at their counter, you can ONLY purchase jewelry there. It doesn't matter if you have a pen you want to purchase; they will not allow you to combine everything which sucks if there is a huge line for the main store's cashiers. When I went today (Thursday around 2PM), there was only 2 cashiers and they were taking FOREVER to check people out even though the line wasn't that long. read more

I'd been meaning to visit this location and glad I was able to visit today's I was in the neighborhood. I love how they setup their cashiering area to follow CDC protocols. There is a huge selection of holidays giftables, I mean HUGE. I always love shopping at any MAXX stores. This place is the most organized location I'd been. After our dinner tonight we headed over to check out the neighborhood TJ Maxx. G not being the lover of shopping, did head over to the men's area to check it out. I on the other hand headed to sheets, and of course decorative home stuff. I also check out the clothing which was real slim pickings. We eventually met up near pillows to which I was greeting with, "I'm done, I will wait for you in the car", and my reply....I'm right behind you. This place use to be the Barnes and Noble store. I kind of wish it still was the bookstore. Of all of the TJ Maxx stores that I have visited this one is sort of blah. I think the best thing in the whole store was the kayak. Holy mother of Kayaks...a kayak in a TJ Maxx. I kind of wanted it just because it was there. Next you will see surfboards and ski's. The New York Yankee onesie was kind of weird also. That I did not want. If you are looking for an array of things, this is not the TJ Maxx for you. So RIP Barnes and Noble stores. We will miss you. read more

Pretty solid two floor location conveniently located on my way home from work. This location is clean and spacious. My only gripe is that there isn't much variety when it comes to ladies and juniors clothing. Home section however is very large and I noticed prices significantly lower compared to Manhattan locations! Was able to get a good amount of home goods including hangers, kitchen wares, broom/pale set and more for a little over $30 total. Beauty section had plenty of Too Faced, MAC, Kat Von D and Anastasia Beverly Hills products including full palettes. All the high end beauty here is safety sealed and tamper proof. read more

There's this male staff that works there who I feel like I'm profiled by him every time I go to this store. As a hardworking, honest, African American and an ardent TJ Max customer I do not appreciate this. A relative of mine went there and she said of all the person's in the store he came to her to ask "can I help you??" And she left the store. Sir you don't own TJ Max and you can't stop me from shopping there and for your info I pay for EVERYTHING. Go do your job and harass the real thieves and leave honest people alone who just want to enjoy their shopping experience. read more

This location used to be a Barnes & Noble. This location adds flare to the neighborhood with their deals. Compared to other locations, this one feels small. Certain departments such as the Women's clothing and the Home/Personal Care section feel so cramped by their limited selections. The handbag department is underwhelming as well. Make sure to check the seams on the handbags.. sometimes you can see why they are sold in this store. Basically it's a hit or mess when the selection is as limited as it is. I was underwhelmed at the women's clothing that I lost interest. There is parking available on the top of the building for both cars and bicycles. I recommend finding side street parking in the surrounding residential areas for free! You can't beat free! I would stop by to check out the selections but don't expect to be walking out with anything. The cashiers were friendly to let me know that the TJMaxx rewards card (not the credit card) does not accumulate any rewards. Great selections from many quality brands at a fraction of what they may typically cost at their own stores. I'm quite sure so much of what the previous reviewers chimed in about focus on price, yet there are many stores that discount and are money loosing entities year in and year out. T.J. Maxx not only sells name brands at a discount price, but the styles are current so you don't appear to be wearing your older brother or sisters clothes. Watches, sunglasses, home needs from bathroom to living room, there is so much product. After a little brousing session for the one or two items I've set out too purchase, each and every time I find my arms full as I work my way back too the enterance looking for a cart. read more

So the old Barnes and Noble by St. John's finally closed down..And now there's a TJ Maxx in its place! So glad I don't have to make the trek out to Long Island or QCM anymore. This location is decent. There's paid parking lot available and there's also plenty of residential parking around here. Inside, both men's, women's, & children's clothes, along with home goods and toys are downstairs. So is the dressing room. Cashiers and jewelry and some other goods are upstairs. I love TJ Maxx because I can find great deals on clothes at very reasonable prices. I see people paying full price, for example, on Under Armour coldgear, when they can get the exact same item at a TJ Maxx for 1/3 or half price. (of course, you'll have to be lucky sometimes if that particular store even has what you're looking for, but still..there's a good chance they do). This location has only been open for 2-3 months..so far so good. Clean, well maintained. Most of the clothes are organized in proper size order. Not bad! read more

2 floors of TJ Maxx goodness. My only issue is that they don't always have what other TJX's have in stock (and yet this location has 2 floors). It could be more well organized as well. The clearance rack (when I stock up on all my skin care goodies) is my favorite. read more

Wow why is it that when you apply for a full time job they give you 10 hours this has been goin on for months. I need to go to labor board cause the employees are over worked one employee has the whole first floor to put back stuff and ring up customers. Tj Maxx treat there employees horrible I wonder if the big bosses know what's really goin on. The managers need training they don't know how to speak to their employees. How can you pay bills with 2 5 hour days. Such a shame this is the big USA. I can't believe these things happen in this country. read more

2.5 STARS at best Walking into this place left a bad taste in my mouth. Probably because I used to frequent the Barnes & Noble that it once was. Sad... The day before I checked this TJ Maxx out, I stopped in a similar store - Macy's Backstage. Although it's basically the same concept, I preferred Macy's. Why 3 stars (for clothes section) - I first gave 2 but then remembered old days and gave 3 stars. When it opened new it had a great collection such that almost Everytime I'd go there, I'd pick up something but nowadays for the past 4-6 months i think this particular outlet has literally started "selling garbage". Every time I go there I see the same old Garbage in the same old location. I tried to check this at other locations too and all had good things but this remains to be the same. In a stroke of genius, TJ Maxx is now essentially right next to St. John's. This is a college student's dream come true! Need a fairly priced clothing item, sweet treat, discount soap, et al.? Just drop by! Need a part time job? Apply! The only issue that this place has is that more cashiers need to open up more often. The line is insane this Saturday at 2 p.m. However, this issue quickly got resolved as the manager paged for more cashiers. This will great for businesses in this area! Gan Da Sushi, Acquista Trattoria, Green Lotus, et al. New York City will certainly get more money from me constantly feeding the meters outside. There is cheaper street parking if you wish to save a little money - just walk a little! This place will make a killing in this area, which desperately needs a place like this. This used to be a Barnes and Noble, and I was pretty sad when they closed down. But then again I haven't bought a book in B&N since maybe high school, that's probably also the last time I read a whole book. They have a lot of clothes, kitchenware, and many other household items at a very discounted price. This is one of the larger stores with 2 levels. I come here for earphones/headphones purchases. Upon conducting research i.e. reading articles, looking on line, that sort of thing. When comparing TJ Maxx to stores in the same genre, it has the reputation of being at the top. Supposedly they have more brand name items and the least amount of flaws on their items then the other stores in its class. And as I read... TJ Maxx because of their great inventory sells out quickly allowing them to restock quickly which also allows them to easily keep up with the latest clothing trends. This branch however from a man's perspective has almost nothing to offer. And the prices are hardly what I would call a bargain and the clothing can be quite disorderly even for a hunting bargain store. Cashiers seem nice enough. But truly they need to get better inventory and at a better rate. read more

TJ Maxx is a great addition to the neighborhood. Its inventory isn't as varied as other locations, but it does the job. I always buy my beauty and household cleaning supplies here because they're a bargain versus the drug stores, especially the giant sized dishwashing detergents. The coffee section is good too. I just bought 12 Starbucks k cups for $5.99. Their ladies' clothing and shoe sections aren't as big as other stores, but you can find something nice if you search well. read more

We will often times come here to shop on Saturdays or in the evening. The store doesn't get too crowded during those times so its easy to browse without people all over the place. I always like their assortment of gift bags, which for $1.99, you can't beat! The store itself is small and the selection varies. Sometimes they have everything I like, other times nothing. It doesn't seem like they receive a lot of designer clothing; it is mostly mainstream brands or brands I don't recognize. Their shoe and handbag section section do have some rare finds! My sister found an Annabel Ingall bag for $180! They also have big displays of Kate Spade or Coach shoes when they get them in. The home section is small too, but you can pick up some cool pieces every now and then. I got a beautiful planter for my mother in law that was hand painted in Spain for less than $20! Although this location isn't as great as others, it definitely worth a trip to check it out! read more

I went downstairs to the women's section on a whim, and found a few steals in the clearance section. Score! I am so disappointed with the costumer service at this place they are so rude and disgusting. instead of taking care of customers on line, they have personal conversations amongst themselves and completely ignore the fact that their is a line .One had the audacity to say " was the blinker on did I call u up here" and just turn her head and ignore me completely,after clearly she was done with the other customer for a few minutes already. She waited until someone else took me and then called the next one . I don't know if it was an ethnicity problem she had with me even though she herself was ethnically different. Their has to be another way to hire people. If this is your job you HAVE to check the attitude by the door otherwise do t work at this kind of setting where you Should be greeting people with a smile. That's what I do at my work and I would like to think that others would treat me with the same respect . If I can give no stars I would I was a very frequent buyer at tj maxx and because of such rude customer service I will be shopping else where.
