I love TJ Maxx. It's the only place I shop. The prices are unbeatable. The selection of items are amazing. It's my favorite place to shop.

this afternoon about 4:00 pm I was waiting in a long line in the Q. all registera seem to be open except 1. I believe I was asked to go to register 6. Ashley "Coordinator was at my register. she said "Hi". then continued her conversation with the cashier next to her. I was exposed to a home situation with the kids throwing away silverware so now she goes to Walmart and buys the cheap throw away kind-to- she had her schedule messed up and didn't know why she was scheduled like that and not sure what she was going to do about it. Ashley checked my receipt 3 times to make sure she charged me correctly. then at the end of my purchase. she said she she was going to ask me something but she forgot. I'm guessing "Will you be using your times card or would like to apply and save some money today?" I worked at Marshall's in Rockford IL for 7 years and not once were we allowed conversation among(cashiers) each other while our guest were being helped. It was always about the guest. She could at least ask how was my day? hope you found all that you needed. are you get ready for Christmas, finding gifts? nothing to me !!! I told Ashley she in my option was very rude! had other guest at the check out agree. just had to vent. I bought a pair of boots for this fall/winter season and wore them around the Kalahari for two days trying to break them in and the right boot will not loosen at all. I brought my receipt and the boots to exchange for a different pair of boots. The cashier called for approval and Brian G the manager on duty said he could not do the exchange because the boots were worn and could not be re sold. The boots could not be re sold because they are faulty and made unevenly. The boots are also in fine condition. I had my receipt and the sale was a week ago and the return policy is within 30 days with a receipt. I found Brian G to be rude and not follow the Tjmax return policy which is upsetting when I shop here so often! I will not be shopping this location again and I will be sure to give my opinion of this location whenever I have the chance! read more

Love this place! Wish they got new stuff more often but when i come i always find at least 100$ worth of stuff i don't think i really need lol! It's always super organized for the most part, considering it's a TJ MAXX and the employees are great about helping you in any way they possibly can. They always have great clearance items and new arrivals. You can never walk out empty handed. read more

I'm addicted to TJ Maxx & Marshalls. I love a bargain hunt. Like any other TJ Maxx you never know what you will get. They have a jewelry counter, handbags, shoes, clothes, & home goods. The staff are friendly. I usually spend a half hour to an hour here. I will say that their clothing hasn't always been the best as compared to Marshall's or other TJ Maxx stores that I have been to. I usually do come home with something. My husband sometimes finds good sports team related merchandise. Today I went home with a dress, shirt, Blackhawks hat for my husband & two pots for plants. So you see there is a good variety of items to browse. If you are not a Maxxinista yet be sure to check it out. Oh & they have a store credit card that you can rack up points pretty easy on. Every thousand points gets a ten$ certificate to spend in store. In store purchases count as 3 points per dollar. read more

Poor customer service. I felt as though I was treated like a criminal. Embarrassed me by saying my money couldn't be accepted. They believed it to be counterfeit. Further embarrassed me by congratulating each other in preventing counterfeit money from being accepted. Took the same bill back to my bank and they found nothing wrong with it. read more

I am a regular at this TJ Maxx branch and I am always pleased with the staff except for my experience today. I went Christmas shopping, so there was an assortment of stuff from clothes, shoes and toys. The cashier is named SOPHIA (I saw her ID). She was rough on handling stuff and put most of my stuff together in one bag except for 2 toys that are in boxes and told me just to carry them as they would not fit in their bag (I was trying to be as patient as possible). I know the other 2 toys in boxes will fit their giant bag, so I told her just to put them in a bag and she said it will just stick out. (Still trying to control myself) I said it's fine; so she put them in a bag and hola they did, in fact, there was still space. I didn't say anything to her. Then, she asked me to sign the receipt as I used my TJ Maxx card, I asked for a pen and she said I gave you one. I told her no, she didn't and she looked at the top of her cash register and hola, saw her pen there and she said, "oh yeah." No apologies. I went out of the store, very upset with this so I decided to talk to one of the staff that I saw close by and asked if Sophia is new and she said no, and I explained to her what happened and showed her how she put so much in that the bag was about to break. She offered to give me a bag. I just said thank you and walked out of the store. I didn't know if she talked to SOPHIA. read more

This store used to be in the same strip mall as Marshall's, and it seems like the selection has gone downhill since. I think the old location may have been bigger, but it is rarely worth the drive to go out to Machesney Park from where I live just to go to this store. Even when I stop in while in the area, I usually leave empty handed. read more
