This Machesney Park Target was always excellent. Not sure what happened, but this last year or so, it's always filthy, out of many items, staff is rude & lazy overall, and has a completely different vibe. Feels like Walmart now, which is a huge disadvantage. Had a good thing going, but it's disintegrating. Also hate to see Target no longer carrying most organic foods & clean products. Seems they've lost sight of their core demographic & are catering to the whims of politics & culture. Unfortunate. read more

If you plan on using the drive-up option for this store, be warned. Twice in the past month, we have placed an order for one item we needed at this retailer, only for them to wait for over an hour and a half to cancel it. Then, because their online system stated that there were 2-5 of the items in stock, and they were necessities like dog food, I went in to see if I could find the items. Both times, they were right there on the shelf, with plenty in stock, but I couldn't take them up to guest services and walk out with a receipt because they already cancelled the order, so now I have to wait for 5 business days for the money to go back into our bank account, all while making the exact same purchase in store. It looks like we will be moving all our business over to Meijer. read more

Not reviewing the electronics because there's nothing special in this department. The rest of the store, however, is OK. Reasonable selection of towels, linens, sportswear, DVDs, Cd's, OTC meds, clothing, toys, housewares. Nothing noteworthy or outstanding. Haven't been to any Target stores much in the past, for "no particular reason" (Gump). Have been back several times and had average experiences. Store personnel were fine. It's always busy when I go there, have to park further out; but has what I'm shopping for & it's convenient. They moved the long line efficiently during COVID & had distance markers. Omg!!!! Turn down the music! I cant hear myself think!!!! Geezzzzzzz. Hate the remodel. Cant find anything. I ran in for emergency medicine now I remember why I never shop here anymore! Between the loud music and the staff just standing around, complaining about their junior college professors instead if stocking, target has become an unpleasant place to shop. It's no longer a nice leisurely stroll down each aisle but an overstimulating, hunt for the basic items that you need. All in all stressful. They have a decent food selection, not the best but yet not the worst, They recently switched from carrying the big boxes of Minute Rice to big boxes of Market Pantry white rice and minis of Minute which is barely enough to make a meal for my family. They discriminate against people with SNAP and WIC at this store particularly one manager. I had to file a formal complaint with corporate. The policy clearly states and the customer service rep verified that gift card deals are open to anyone including those on SNAP and WIC. I was denied my gift card and proper service for using SNAP on my son's formula. And before anyone judges I work 2 jobs and yes I receive snap. This was not the first incident with this woman either. She said to the cashier ringing me out that they no longer give gift cards to anyone with SNAP or WIC. read more

Not a bad place to shop! It's in a large shopping center but is the only general goods store, with the closest Wal-Mart being a good 20 minutes away. This store has everything you'd expect at a Target that also has a grocery area. What this means is that there's a fairly wide selection of items, but there are still many specialty goods, and sometimes even standard goods missing. We couldn't find any fresh radishes while we were there, for example. Additionally, the freezer section doesn't have too much stuff. The pharmacy is great, but its hours are fairly limited. In general, you can find what you need here if you aren't too adventurous. If you need stuff not stocked at this Target, it might be worth a trip to Wal-Mart, which will almost definitely have five different options for what you need. read more

For the area Target is a lot better choice than Riverside Walmart and Rockton Walmart. They don't carry bulk items though so if you want a 24pk of pop, they don't have it. It seems like they move inventory quickly and never bring it back once it's moved. They used to carry a baking soda shaker style bottle, but once they sold it...haven't seen it again. They once carried Glade's heated oils that came in a pouch, but once it sold out they never carried it again. They have good products, variety of products and are well priced! My family shops at this Target location about twice a week. The store is almost always clean and organized (it is retail and yes it's hard to always be on top of everything), if we ever needed help it's been easy to find someone and they've been friendly, the store manager seems really nice from what we've seen, and most of the cashiers are awesome. Steve is one of the best cashiers and most of the girls (and Tyler) are pleasant, fast, and great with my kids! Pam, however, has always been rude so we avoid her lane. I was in from CA, helping my daughter move into her dorm room, and had a long list of last-minute things she still needed, so I Yelped for the nearest Target and this was it. I've been in many Targets but I've got to say, this one really impressed me with the availability and helpfulness of the workers. I had a ton of stuff to buy in many different departments and it would have taken much longer had there not been so many helpful people. Other non-Target stores were closer, but this was definitely worth the drive. read more

I like Target very much. It's very bright, clean and welcoming as you come in. The shelves are usually very well stocked, and the employees are friendly and helpful. My only issue is with the Plus Sized Department. There is not enough of a selection of clothes in that department. It has just as much or less of a selection as the maternity section of clothing. I think if Target beefed up their plus sized department it would benefit them greatly. read more
