I honestly love this TJ Maxx. The location is great, the store is well-kept, and they have a good selection of items. I'm only giving it 3 stars, because I had an unfortunate experience with this store today. I had my eye on a piece of furniture yesterday, and had called the store today to 1) see if it was still available and 2) put it on hold if it was still there. I didn't know it at the time, but I was speaking to the manager over the phone. The call was rushed, and she took my name but not my phone number. When I asked her to confirm whether or not the recliner was still available, she said "yes" without putting me on hold and physically checking.
Later in the day, my husband and I were able to get a truck rental and made it down to TJ Maxx to purchase and pick up the piece of furniture. The manager I had spoken to earlier made a mistake, and didn't realize that another customer came into the store and put the recliner on hold before I called. She apologized, but as you can imagine, my husband and I were very distraught and now had to deal with going back to return the truck rental and hopefully getting a refund for not technically using the truck.
She did, however, take my phone number down and said she would call me near the end of closing and let me know whether or not the person who had put the recliner on hold before me came or not for the furniture.
Fortunately, I received a call, and they didn't. My name is now back on the hold for that piece of furniture. This was a stroke of luck, though. I will be calling again tomorrow to double check that the furniture is on hold under my name... read more
