I absolutely love TJ maxx, always shopped everything else other than clothes. I started shopping the clothes and went into the fitting rooms for the first time. Of course I didn't know there fitting room procedures so I asked the girl (Adriana or Ariana, whatever her name was) if I hang up the clothes on the little stand and off the bat her demeanor was so off with me. From the moment I went to the fitting rooms and came out, she was just not friendly. I even asked when I came out if I put the clothes back on the rack for her to count and still had a nasty tone with me. I work in retail too and it's not that hard to put on a customer service tone even if it's fake. pls do better read more

They could use more checkout workers, i've put things back multiple times just because the line was wrapped around the store and they only had 2-3 people working the front. Bathrooms could also stand to be cleaner read more

Okay, first things first, I love TJ Maxx. The stores are great, and I always find too much, lol. I had gotten a pricey necklace for Christmas that wasn't my favorite because it was gold, so I decided to return it so the money wouldn't go to waste. On the way in the store, a lady who worked there said we couldn't return it if the jewelry didn't have a tag on it, even though we had the original packaging and receipt. She sent someone over to the jewelry counter to help us. He was very nice and called the manager to help him out because our return was over 200 dollars. She ended up letting us return it for store credit, which was nice. Now, to the bad part, about halfway through our shopping, we had to use the restroom. The first thing we noticed was the smell. It was awful, but it is a bathroom, so we understood. I go in one of the stalls and it was dis gus ting. Someone had wiped their butt and put the soiled toilet paper on top of the already overflowing trash can. I wanted to throw up. My mom and I were talking about how gross it was, and then an employee walked out of a stall and gave us the dirtiest look ever as if us talking about the disgusting bathroom offended her. If it offended so badly, she should've done something about it... Overall a good store, we found lots of stuff, and our cashier lady was super friendly, but we definitely will NEVER use their bathrooms again. read more

Mine stopped working and def a gym necessity. Long line checking out that moved pretty quickly. Saw a cute clearance sign and picked up that. My Husband and I are getting ready to go on a vacation to Scotland. We stopped in TJ Max to look for warm sweaters and travel accessories. We found this set of Samsonite luggage for a really good price! We were having such a laughable hard time trying to figure out how to get them into the cart. A sales associate offered to put them behind the counter so we could keep shopping. I thought that was really nice! When we were finishing shopping a different sales associate, who is ringing us up asked if she could put all of the luggage into each other so it would be easier for us to walk out with. read more

BEWARE OF MAKEUP -- i used a mascara from two faced i bought here, while the deal/savings were great, the EYE INFECTION WAS NOT. My eye is so swollen and puffy, so irritated with a large bump in my lower and upper eyelid, and this was the only eye product i had been using so evidently this was the cause. hopefully itll go away but im never buying makeup products from here again. read more

Stores open at 11am on Sundays and be prepared for a crowd of early birds. Social distancing and mask wearing patrons eagerly waiting to find treasures at this location. Store manager did a wonderful job of preparing her store for the morning rush. My family and I were the first ones in the door and let me tell you why this was a five store shopping experience (even though we didn't find the gem we're looking for) l. Store was SPOTLESS! Happened to be running some errands in Turlock and wanted to come here to look specifically for Korean and Japanese beauty products. I assumed they would have a good selection since I've seen Marshalls carries a lot of those products and they're the same company. The Korean beauty products are slim pickings and they're tucked in the back, so you do have to shuffle around to find them. They do have a lot of foot masks though, I guess they are not as popular with the customers. As for the Japanese beauty products, they don't have anything aside from Shiseido. A good amount of the cosmetic products have their packaging tampered or damaged, so you do have to look out for that. Walked away with oil cleanser, 3 in 1 cream, and 5 rose masks for around $12 though, so win-win. read more

The associate was very friendly at the register. She frequently acknowledged the long line of customers waiting to check out. There was another register that was open, but the associate left for some reason to check on something. The customer stood waiting at that register. While all of this was going on their was another associate by the line and later moved behind the counter. As we all stood in line, in her view, she didn't open another register. Our Turlock TJ Maxx is one of my faves. Lots of designer stuff and great customer service. Recently I ran into a little issue with a turquoise necklace I had purchased there and was defective. The manager Felisha was so helpful and professional. Although the return date was past due, she offered to check other stores to see if they still had it, and said she would call me back. So I left not very happy and honestly I thought she was just pushing me away to not deal with it. To my surprise I got a phone call a couple of weeks later, informing me that she was not able to find another similar necklace, but to go in and get a store credit. That is why I enjoy shopping there, great service and of course the selection of designer items at discounted prices. read more

Once upon a time when I was married, I use to heart this store. I would find the best deals in home furnishing and decorate my home as a floor model. I took pride in creating a warm and friendly atmosphere when entertaining my friends. Mother wanted to go shopping so we stopped by here to see what was hot here. Uh....nothing really to my surprise. There were very few Max Mira clothing and the styles....yew....a total pass. The home furnishing although brought bad memories, were really nice here. The tore seemed old and not a TJ Maxx atmosphere....it was no different from a Ross but more expensive. Just not impressed in any form. The -1 more star is for the unpleasant sales clerks. Poo! I love getting lost in this store, I have so much fun browsing the household goods, decor and kitchen aisles! The only thing unfortunate thing is the long lines. The lines can get so long that I just have to go back and browse because I hate waiting in line. They do their best to manage it but certain times of the day you could be stuck in line for 15 mins or longer. I've left the store before because I was in a hurry and could not afford the luxury of standing in line or continuing to browse while waiting for the lines to dwindle down so I only stop by when I have ample time to browse and possibly get stuck in a long line. read more

Clean store but the checkout line took 20 minutes. An older cashier took her sweet time doing a return for an off duty employee(going on vacation to Oregon). It's frustrating to be in line with 15 other people and the cashier is chit chatting. Another older cashier seemed to be struggling with counting money. One of the male employees walking around should have jumped on a register to help out. Oh and the line greeter getting hangers from people was picking his nose. Horrible!! Well, let's face it... this is probably the best store to shop for hip fashions in Turlock. Not much in the way of clothing stores in this town, so TJ Maxx is the closest. I have found tons of fun and necessary items here for great prices, from bras to workout pants, and designer jeans to designer home items. My advice is to go early in the morning when they have everything cleaned up so you can see what you're shopping more easily. When it's messy after the racks have been shopped, it's much harder to see what's there in your tastes. read more

I went to return a purse and had cut the tags off but they let me return it. Had been used once for a couple hours and they were so sweet. They carry brands like abercrombie, american eagel, ed hardy, juicey, ecko red, dooney and burke, roxy, tommy stuff, puma etc. I go to their clearence section first because that's where if you look in the right spot you'll find a great deal for like 5 or 10 or even 3 bucks. Careful with checking out their furniture, it's kinda beat up already. they have great deals on kids toys. What would cost you 20 bucks at toysrus would only cost you bout 7 or ten bucks. read more
