I ordered the patacones picantes, which is two patties of fried green plantain topped with delicious steak, onions and tomatoes. It was on the starter menu but it was big enough for a nice lunch. Open since 2012, clearly the locals know about it - everyone here besides me is speaking Spanish. Definitely give this little place a chance - it's great!

Having never had it before, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many different parts of Asia seemed to influence this cuisine, especially given that Suriname is a South American country! Service is nice and quick especially since you mostly just interact at the back stand to order, and then sit down. It was a bit crowded inside but the vibe is nice and we were able to get a table without waiting too much. One minor note is that our cards were not accepted here (visa, Mastercard), so make sure you bring cash! They did a good job of communicating this before we ordered so we did not have to waste too much time, and luckily we had just enough cash anyway. Overall, very solid recommendation for Amsterdam!
