Its studios are in Pensacola and its transmitter is in Robertsdale, Alabama. It's one of my go-to stations for a nice mix of classic rock when in my car. From Queen to The Beatles or James Taylor to Led Zeppelin it's a mix that works for my drive time. For a "big radio" station they have a good local vibe with contests, local band and charity support without a lot of unnecessary or gratuitous chit chat and clutter. As a former radio guy I am not a fan of these "big radio" conglomerates like Cumulus that has 415 owned-and-operated stations across 86 markets and are partners with nearly 7,300 affiliated stations through Westwood One, which is the largest audio network in America. I've got a very strong opinion about the negatives of big companies gobbling up radio stations over the years, but I digress. On-air include Maria Danza mid-day's, and the rest of the day into the night are a couple real renaissance radio dudes with Steve Taylor doing afternoon drive and Steve Millin on PM's. Their morning show is a syndicated show Bob & Tom, not my cup of tea, but I gotta give these guys props. It's Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold from their home station WFBQ, in Indianapolis, where they've been since 1983, and syndicated nationally since 1995, nicely done guys. I've been extremely encouraged and blessed listening to this station. The music played is classic…read morehymns and music that features the truths of God's Word! I did not hear this growing up and had to transition decades ago to this genre. Contemporary gospel music is fun, but this station offers, from my view, the music that gives my soul time to breathe and meditate! Some drama for kids and adults, and Creation info is instructive and fun.
