It live streams from their website at: https://www.sunny1057.com I have a special perspective on music radio because I got my first radio gig when I was 16 years old for a 2 hour show at my local radio station, it was a really big deal for that kid and I had a lot of part-time radio jobs around the country over the years. I finally decided to take the plunge, after several unrelated careers, and took the first of several full-time morning radio gigs. Those were fun times but I eventually had to get back to making better money LOL Radio is NOT the place to prepare for retirement :-) Anyway, the music mix is great at this local Island station and they don't gab or play too many commercial ads and while they do some stuff on the bird [satellite] on weekends they also have a nice locals show featuring music from local artists. It's my kind of fun beach music that jump from the Beach Boys to Boyz II Men, from The Hollies to Heart & Alice Cooper to Alicia Keyes, good stuff! This little station also promotes local events, local business and has a good website that supports locals with an Island guide for services, dining, entertainment and more. They also have a beach report and a daily 20 minute weather guaranty which is always a good thing for beach dwellers and the dreaded hurrucane watches alike. Bottom line: This is the first radio station review I've done, although there may be more to come, but since this is the one that's almost always on in my car I thought I'd give the dedicated radio geeks at Sunny 105.7 a big shout out. I have been a listener for a long time starting with when I came down to visit my parents in the…read more90's. I wish there would be more Metal, such as Megadeth and Iron Maiden, but at least they play Metallica. Most of their format consists of Alternative Rock, which is fine, it's still Rock. I called and voiced my disapproval with the insertion of some Rap/Hip Hop and Rap Rock, but I was told it was not a format change, just keeping things fresh. Okay, I'm not really your target audience due to my age of 69, but I still like to Rock and I appreciate there is still a Rock Station in the area. If you don't believe me check the App on your DVR or online. Clear Channel has bought out and ruined practically every good active rock station in the US. Another review for another time. The positive is this station simulcasts a few decent hard rock/metal shows. As of this evening new music from In this Moment, Crobot, The HU and FFDP on Hard drive. Occasionally throwing in some old school from bands like Prong and Corrosion of Conformity. The question is why does someone have to listen to shows like this to hear new Hard Rock? 2.75 stars because at least they carry some decent simulcast radio shows.
