Good news: you too can look like Melinda, because her racks are filled with tons of dresses, tops, pants and skirts...natural fabrics and so pretty. She also has eye wear...like REALLY COOL eye wear. Awesome home wares, too. And I bought a super special candle that will always bring me back to Hudson when I light it. Smells like fancy pine. Also! After telling off my kid, he went back to ignoring us by the register, not looking up from whatever he was reading. I lost interest in the cases, accessories, and furniture. Dogs on leashes were in the store (no complaint from me; love me some doggoes) and no one was chasing after them to not touch the furniture. Whatever bad experiences they've had with other children is no excuse to embarrass my child or make her feel like she did anything wrong, and yes, the tone clearly made her feel that way despite us cooly, and quietly leaving.

Over the course of this project (and through 2023) we also tasked Pondside to advise and follow through on design, landscaping, and hardscaping (large deck, bluestone terrace, plantings, fencing, etc) our property, which the Pondside team completed without unnecessary follow up and seamlessly worked with our building contractors. You get what you pay for.... Jake and the Pondside team are exceptional, and we are lucky to have found a a trusted contractor (for years to come) who is responsive and consistently delivers above expectations without the BS.

After spending thousands of dollars purchasing trees from Jake's Pondside Nursery and having them…read moreplanted through their service, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of follow-through and customer care. The trees came with a one-year warranty. Unfortunately, two of them died within that warranty period in 2025. I contacted the nursery numerous times and spoke with Heather, who manages the business. I was repeatedly assured that the issue would be addressed and taken care of, but no resolution was ever provided. After following up again in 2026, I was surprised to be told that the trees had supposedly been planted by "someone else," despite my understanding that the purchase and planting had been arranged through Jake's Pondside Nursery. I gave the business many opportunities to honor their warranty and resolve the situation, but after repeated calls and promises, nothing was done. Based on my experience, I found their service disappointing, their prices high, and their customer support after the sale unacceptable. I would strongly caution others to get all warranty promises in writing and be careful before making a large purchase here.
