But we’re more than just a gym. We’re a community of passionate individuals committed to growth, discipline, and supporting each other both on and off the mats. In Thai, “Sanuk” is a deeply rooted cultural concept that means "fun" or "enjoyment." But it goes beyond just having a good time , it reflects a way of life. To Thai people, doing something sanuk means doing it in a way that is joyful, engaging, and worthwhile. It implies that life should be lived with a sense of pleasure, laughter, and positive energy, even when doing everyday tasks or hard work. A job, a conversation, or even a challenge should ideally be sanuk , fun, lively, and infused with a good spirit. It’s not just about personal enjoyment either - sanuk often involves others, encouraging social connection, good humor, and shared experiences. It’s a value that helps shape Thailand’s famously warm and welcoming culture. Sanuk Martial Arts is place where people don’t just train hard, they do it with joy, camaraderie, and a love for the art.

New studio/dojo in the area offering a variety classes!…read more I started with their virtual Fire & Ice HIIT and breathwork classes taught by Tom that were upbeat with fun playlists. I liked all the different exercises that Tom taught and especially appreciated all the variations he offered for each movement! I also really enjoy the Unify class with Dr. Tae on Saturday mornings. It's a combination of yoga, qi gong, and breathwork all in one. His attention to detail and focus on improving posture is what keeps me coming back. Love learning how to integrate the breath into the postures. I haven't learned a new skill in ages, but I saw students practicing kendo at Ki Body & Spirit and decided to give it a try. The kendo community is mixed ages, which I really enjoy. It's inspiring practicing with the kids and a welcome challenge being introduced to sparring. The dojo also offers iaido sword form, which I really like learning and a lovely practice of concentration and flow.

It has super high ceilings for aerial yoga and a full wall dedicated for wall yoga which I've never seen before. They also have yoga, HIIT, breathing classes and even Kendo for both kids and adults. Since it's located in a large plaza, parking was so convenient. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a unique and cool experience while trying to stay in shape or just to host a fun work event or a girls studio session. Can't wait to try out their aerial yoga and other classes.

Everyone was amazed that we were able to find a drop-in gym for kids, but these guys made it no big deal. They were communicative via email, welcoming upon arrival, and even recommended a more suitable class for my kid. Many of the parents also practice and from what I've seen, the teachers know what they're doing. They use humor to engage the kids, never screaming or forcing them. We would happily join this gym again if we're ever in the area.

As years went by I changed my focus to the Nashid karate system (which I still train in), and then my Sensei brought Professor André into our school...my love for BJJ resurrected! Though I did not find Professor André through Yelp, I wanted to help you, the Yelpers decision easier. He's an excellent instructor to everyone of all ages. The moment you meet him, his personality and love to teach shines through. I mean, it's kept me engaged for three years. In fact, I travel from NYC all the way to Great Neck to continue my training with Professor André and his students (every opportunity I get). So if you're looking for the right place to train, have your children train, and want a person fully invested in all of his students, there's no need to look any further. Just look at all the photos on his Yelp page...including the ones I've uploaded shows he is the real deal. Great Neck and surrounding towns, you're lucky to have Professor Andre and the A Force BJJ academy in your backyard. Thank you for everything you do Professor..ous

If you want to learn how to defend yourself and your family, this is the place to be. How do I know? Simple. I've been training here for the past three years in Krav Maga. The instructor (we call him Soke), Tony Morrison is a martial arts practitioner for the past 40 years. He is the best teacher I've ever experienced. He motivates you. He guides you and helps you understand how to use these techniques and strategies to protect yourself. Adult Krav Classes are held five days a week. You can come once a week, twice a week or five days a week, all for the same price. Personally, I come five days a week. (I wish he had classes seven days a week as I'd be there every day.) Soke Morrison is a 4th degree black belt in Krav Maga and the drills and training are amazing. That's why so many of us keep returning every day and every week. By the way, you get a great workout by the end of each class in addition to learning great skills to help you go about your daily life. Note, when reading reviews online, make sure you separate out reviews about the training and instruction as opposed to perceived injustices from people who have nothing to do with the training or the principles being taught at this excellent Krav Maga school. I wish I had known about Top Gun Krav Maga years ago, and I'm honored to be training with the best instructor in the business. What are you waiting for? Come down and see for yourself.

In my experience, charges can appear without clear notice or explanation, and resolving them can be frustrating. If you have ever purchased a private fitness training package or Pilates package, I strongly recommend keeping your own detailed record of the number of sessions remaining, cancellations, and any communication with trainers or the front desk. I have experienced mistaken charges related to private lessons, including charges that appeared to be connected to incorrect input by instructors or confusion around remaining sessions. Illnesses and unexpected situations can happen, but I found that the billing process does not always handle these situations carefully, and late cancellation or full-course charges may still appear unexpectedly. Another issue is the high turnover of private trainers and Pilates instructors. Customers can easily end up dealing with a new trainer or front desk staff who may not know the full history, especially if the prior trainer involved in the mistaken charge has already left the company. This makes it very difficult to resolve billing issues afterward. Overall, the billing and session-tracking process feels disorganized. I recommend that customers monitor their credit card statements closely, ask for written confirmation of all package balances and cancellations, and be very cautious about relying on the club's internal records alone.
