Kids classes are group instructions, and depending on the day of the week can be crowded or as low as 1 or 2 kids. As a former student of wingchung, I appreciate how much effort they put into teaching the kids discipline and restraint alongside the physical core of Jeet Kune Do. Good effort by students are reinforced while distracted/distracting kids are often reprimanded immediately, which is good. The lessons are a one year commitment, offering 2 lessons per week. The place is clean, bright and open. Parking is ample as it is located at an open Mall. My kids are eager to attend their lessons and overall I'm happy with this school.

I first joined because I wanted to lose weight and learn how to handle conflict, but I've gained so much more than that. The training has helped me become stronger, both physically and mentally, and my overall mental health has improved in ways I never expected. I feel more confident, calm, and able to handle whatever life throws at me. The instructors are amazing and truly care about every student. They're patient, encouraging, and make every class a great experience. The community here feels like a second family, and everyone supports each other. I'm so grateful for the love and guidance from the instructors and my fellow students. If you're looking for a place that can help you grow in every way, I can't recommend the New Martial Arts Academy enough. It's been one of the best decisions I've ever made! Tt was pretty affordable, they let you pay monthly under a 12 month contract, or you can payoff the whole contract at once if you can so that you can avoid the monthly expense. Plus they have direct connections to Bruce Lee, some of his closest students even recommend New York Martial Arts academy as the Best place in New York to learn traditional Jeet Kune Do. https://youtu.be/uoMrfE6wLzQ?si=r_Hfo-M0hSpAa4Ea&t=38 Go to the New York Martial Arts academy. I, as a parent, have fully supported Champion's Taekwondo's curriculum and teachings from day one. Trust the process!! I can't speak for the parents and kids who didn't get the same experience as we did, but to achieve results, you have to put in the blood, sweat and tears to have the gratitude of how enriching the experience is. Maybe it's just the mainstream media and politics that is brainwashing and herding the sheep mentality making today's generation of children's parents into thinking that every issue is a medical condition and the cure is medication and therapy? Trust the process!! Kids from my generation, we didn't have these issues because we went outside, played and were social. Nowadays, Tik Tok, video games, social media have made today's generation couch potatoes, introverted and just plain lazy. You have to tell your kids to go outside and play with other kids. Martial arts is a mental, physical and social stimulation interaction. I can't speak for the previous management, but current management and hired staff have the experience and knowledge to properly teach the basic fundamentals for a strong foundation moving forward. Master Chris, Master Priscilla (Formerly Instructor Priscilla), Instructor Jordan and Instructor Sunnie (Formerly Chief Staff Sunnie) have been under Master Ro and Grand Master Oh for over 14+ years. I am grateful that this location now has a great staff and that the community has the privilege to learn from such accomplished athletes that have set a true example of how Taekwondo has changed their lives. Trust The Process!!!! The current staff have a long list of credentials and experience that they know what it takes to develop into a champion! Trust The Process!!! Put your trust into the hands of the staff and not question their methods. Trust the process!! Otherwise, you got the answer as to why your child isn't improving. From the very first class, Master Kim's energy, professionalism, and genuine care for each student stood out. He maintains strict discipline while being kind and approachable, fostering both respect and growth among students. Classes are well-structured, combining technique, physical training, and focus, which has helped improve skills, confidence, and perseverance. Master Chris includes 1 minute quizzes at the end of every class which keeps students engaged and excited. What sets Champions apart is the strong sense of community and support. Whether a beginner or working toward a black belt, students are challenged and motivated to do their best. We highly recommend Champions Martial Arts Little Neck Taekwondo to any parent looking to build not just a stronger athlete, but a stronger person.

I liked all the different exercises that Tom taught and especially appreciated all the variations he offered for each movement! I also really enjoy the Unify class with Dr. Tae on Saturday mornings. It's a combination of yoga, qi gong, and breathwork all in one. His attention to detail and focus on improving posture is what keeps me coming back. Love learning how to integrate the breath into the postures. I haven't learned a new skill in ages, but I saw students practicing kendo at Ki Body & Spirit and decided to give it a try. The kendo community is mixed ages, which I really enjoy. It's inspiring practicing with the kids and a welcome challenge being introduced to sparring. The dojo also offers iaido sword form, which I really like learning and a lovely practice of concentration and flow.

But we’re more than just a gym. We’re a community of passionate individuals committed to growth, discipline, and supporting each other both on and off the mats. In Thai, “Sanuk” is a deeply rooted cultural concept that means "fun" or "enjoyment." But it goes beyond just having a good time , it reflects a way of life. To Thai people, doing something sanuk means doing it in a way that is joyful, engaging, and worthwhile. It implies that life should be lived with a sense of pleasure, laughter, and positive energy, even when doing everyday tasks or hard work. A job, a conversation, or even a challenge should ideally be sanuk , fun, lively, and infused with a good spirit. It’s not just about personal enjoyment either - sanuk often involves others, encouraging social connection, good humor, and shared experiences. It’s a value that helps shape Thailand’s famously warm and welcoming culture. Sanuk Martial Arts is place where people don’t just train hard, they do it with joy, camaraderie, and a love for the art.

I don't get the members throwing used paper towels on the counter or floor literally 12 feet away from 2 empty garbage cans( photo 1) . The fact that empty Gatorade and water bottles are also left on benches just a few feet again from the big garbage cans by the day care. ( photo 2). The selfish members who bring the dumbbells all the way from the free weight area to the racquetball courts 500 feet away and leave them there for us to trip over and hurt ourselves. The moron who does not wait to scan his gym card and sneaks in at 7:01 am on Saturday 5/30 ( Thinning hair, glasses, 5'11", 195 lbs, white sport shirt over his t shirt) - Yes idiot you are on camera. All these actions make things harder for all. Then these very same members get mad at LAF Mgmt and the maintenance staff for not doing their jobs and cleaning their mess. Go do this same crap at your home. Are you f'ing kidding me? This is a good gym that is open non stop from 4 am on Monday to 11 pm on Friday. This is a place where I leave feeling a million percent better with the endorphins going after the cardio and the workout. Love the Nergizer Juice bar where the awesome Arsenio and coworkers make the best PB smoothies. Members take some f ing pride and do your part. Please be respectful. The dumbell rack, which is extensive, from one wall to the next is usually empty. Nothing is where it should be, and the floor is littered with wipes and dirt. More time will be spent walking around the inside looking to find what you need to get your workout done than actually working out. A horrible experience!
