Great burritos, rice and beans. Nice bartender and drinks are affordable. Good sauces and flavor with fresh tortillas. Nice seating and kind service.

Best Mexican spot in Heath! Tlaquepaque recently bought out the old Mexican joint that used to be here, though not sure what happened to the other. Love their staple items. Queso is fantastic, not too spicy not too expensive. Great spot when craving some good Mexican food.

    Chicken Tacos were great!

I ordered the chicken tacos (3) they fantastic. Seasoned very well and the Mango Margarita was very good! This place is clean and the bathrooms were on point. I think this restaurant is a Newark area favorite because I l'm told it's always packed with great customer service. They food came out quick, hot, and flavorful.

What a nice little surprise and it's been a hot minute since I have had Mexican. My mom, who lives…read morein Kentucky, told me about this restaurant she had eaten at years ago and that had the absolutely best Sopapillas. They way she described them and her excitement told me it was a must try. After piecing it together and some google searching she confirmed it was La Paloma's. I decided it would be a perfect Saturday adventure and that my partner and I could do a late lunch. Not sure if this is the exact location but I went to this location in Health, Ohio. It is about a 45 minute drive from downtown Columbus. There is another location in Mount Vernon and a few that had closed. So off we went on our Sopapillas search. First trip out to Heath, but the restaurant was easy to find. It sits back off SR-79 (Hebron Rd), and there is plenty of parking. Outside is a neat looking building, I am going to guess late 60's/70's design. We parked and went in and were warmly greeted and placed an order. A large spacious dining area with tables and booths for seating options. We paid, seated ourselves, and when the meal was ready brought it out to us. I went with the beef and cheese Sopapillas and that crust is amazing! The beef seasoning was perfect and had just the right amount of cheese. I went with the large and it was perfect. The hostess said most folks go with this size but they offer several options. I had lettuce, diced tomatoes and a side of sour cream with mine. Chris H. had the Chicken Burrito con Queso. He loved it and of course I had to have a bite as well. It was good and had a slight kick to it. We both used the table sauce on both of ours and it was more mild than hot. Food was good, and it didn't dissapoint. I think I enjoyed talking to my Mom and sharing the adventure and that I was able to try their Sopapillas the most. Not to mention, it's just fun to say the word Sopapilla. I absolutely recommend trying one!

Over the…read morepast couple of years the Heath location has gone from a sit down style family restaurant with a hostess and wait staff to fast food. Something is missing. You walk in order and pay. They of course ask for a tip. They tell you where to sit using a table number system. You get your drink at a fountain and sit down. The cashier brings you your food when it's ready. The food is the same as it's always been but expensive. $26 for lunch. My chief complaint is asking for a tip at a fast food establishment. LaPaloma has been around for I'm guessing 40 years. I suspect they are on the verge of closing. I hope not. The vibe is gone. The place is empty. The food is still good but if I wanted fast Mexican food I'd go to Chipotle and save $10

Service: waiters are friendly, but normally a younger crowd so can give off that "just doing my…read morejob" attitude at first. Sometimes a little slow and can find yourself waiting for water at times. Ambiance/Atmosphere: the inside is very nice and although narrow doesn't feel crowded or stuffy. Lighting is dimly lit enough for a nice date night, but not at all to dark. Food: The pocho burrito was amazing the first time I had it, followed by the second and third time even. Just a delicious burrito with an amazing habanero cream sauce and packed full of all three meats. I'd genuinely argue from my memory that it was the best burrito I'd ever had. That being said, I'd highly recommend skipping to go. The last 2 times I had it which has been over a year because I simple could not return it was just that disgusting. I was disheartened to have wasted my weekly cheat meals on it not once, but twice in arrow of dining here. The shrimp was hard, bland as if nothing was in my mouth, but still disgustingly fishy. The habanero sauce was tasteless and the avacado most definitely was not fresh. The chicken, steak, and peppers along with the tortilla still tasted good, but it was almost impossible to enjoy it pushing past the disgusting shrimp. The enchiladas were ok, but definitely a waste of money and calories. Not at all special. It seems that now this place is doing a bit better and has back to back 4 and even 5 star reviews. I'm giving Pocho's a 3 regardless of how awful my last two experiences were due to the fact the Pocho burrito was truly that delicious the first few times I had it. I raved about it and went back 3 weeks in arrow and even told my friends about it who loved it all the same. I used to even get two dining in and all three times getting it to go. Maybe it was my fault for trusting to go orders to much, but the first time it was just as amazing as dining in. I may give it another try as I truly do miss that delicious burrito, but I've discovered much better Mexican and don't want to risk wasting my time. Only time will tell if I give this place another shot.

We parked around the corner and walked to Mariposa. We Noticed that the man hole covers had maps of the Earthworks. The walk to Mariposa's restroom was interesting. It winds all the way to the back of the building past exposed brick walls showing the buildings history. There are maybe 10 booths or tables along the left or right walls Down the center is a HUGE community table. I came with a group of close to 30 seated at the community table. Which was perfect for us! We rolled in right at noon on Taco Tuesday. (They were expecting us) One waitress was assigned to our table. She was great! Chips +salsa was served with glasses of cold water for each diner at our community table when we walked in. The salsa was mild but also cooked and served warm. The chips had a hint of lime. Hubs had the smothered chicken burrito and said it was fantastic. One huge burrito stuffed with rice, beans, meat) with queso Blanco poured over the top. There may have been more inside the burrito. I ordered the "any 3 Tacos for $10" Special and enjoyed chicken, carnitas, baria with consume. I'm a big barra fan and never pass up the opportunity to find great baria. The barria was just ok but the consume tasted burned. And since the taco was grilled in the consume the entire taco was unpleasant. Also served on the side was a small verde salsa with a little kick. Loved it! I scraped the protein out of the tacos for a lower carb lunch with the zucchini and really enjoyed my meal. We agreed we would return next time we are in Newark. By the way, we were there to tour the newest UNISCO World Heritage Site- the Great Circle Ceremonial Earthworks. The museum is open Thursday-Sunday from 10-4. At 2:00 a Docent hosts a tour of the circle. Best $10 I've spent in a long time! Make a half day of it and visit the Earthworks and Mariposa while in Newark.

Fajitas are very good if I would have only got shrimp, it was tender and delicious and all the veggies were perfect but the steak is not so good and would skip that next time. It's tough and not much flavor. The tacos were all good, the Beria taco dipping sauce was weird and not our jam. Overall a nice spot in downtown Newark that we will try again.
