    Special: chicken teriyaki tacos
    Caroline J.

Ate here with a party of five between lunch and dinner and all of us enjoyed our food, drinks and overall experience! Service was a little bit slow at first but our waiter then was on top of everything. It's not overly large but has a mixture of tables and booths and a bar area. Has nice decor inside! Food wise: The chicken empanada appetizer was delicious! That green sauce that came on it was so good! I enjoyed the chicken teriyaki taco special and it was very good as well. I also got a side of rice and enjoyed that as well. Others in the group enjoyed their meals and drinks as well. Would return if ever back in the area for some yummy food!

Great Sunday Funday. I enjoyed the Seafood poblano and mango habanero margarita. Cohort loved his pocho burrito a fully stuffed burrito filled with steak chicken and large prawn sized shrimp. He loved his sangria margarita. Ideal weather for outdoor seating. Our server was great

Heard about Pocho's opening recently and was excited to try it out! They had an extensive menu with everything from tacos and burritos to specialty dishes. The interior had an upscale, urban vibe to it, with sleek booths and a bar in the back. The potato tacos were super crispy with a layer of mashed potatoes inside. It was topped with lots of lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and lime. Since it was on the blander side I ordered their homemade hot sauce which does cost an extra $1.50 but was really good. I'm a huge fan of birria tacos so was pleased to see that they had it on their regular menu. The tacos had a lot of tender, shredded meat and cheese inside. The dip was very good as well and it came with diced onions, cilantro, and hot sauce on the side to garnish. The enchiladas are also a good option and came with 3 different sauces so you can try the cream habanero sauce, green sauce and red sauces. Service was quick although once it gets busy during peak hours there was more wait time. Prices are on the higher side in terms of Mexican cuisine but the quality was good and portions were big as well. They also have a lunch special on weekdays and happy hour specials if you are looking for deals.

My aunt and uncle recently moved to Granville and when visiting we decided to check out this little place they love. The menu is smaller than normal Mexican restaurants but covers all the good stuff. We started with the trio of dips and their salsa guacamole and queso are all really good! I tried the prickly pear margarita, which honestly was not good at all, it was mostly soda and didn't taste like a margarita nor show any flavors of prickly pear. For my meal I got the fajita burrito, and it was so delicious! Everyone else enjoyed their meals including tacos al pastor, and a bowl. The service was a little inconsistent but they didn't have much staff and the place was packed. Besides the sad margarita this place hit the marks for tasty Mexican food

We decided to try Pocho's Tequila & I'll and I am so glad we did. This Mexican restaurant took over the space that once was an italian restaurant and wow, they really made the space their own. I love the decor. Its very modern, with soft blue lighting at night. Nothing cheesy or tacky here. There are hanging lanterns and wall moss so it has a nice organic feel. Service was quick and friendly. Food was out of this world. This was the first place that came close to Maya NYC and Ghost Ranch, Tempe. Where it still isnt quite the creative, authentic menu as either of those locations.... It is now my fav mexican restaurant in Ohio.

Bloody Mary with all the fixings bartender's choice. My husband LOVED it.

Took a motorcycle ride to Granville specifically to hit a chocolate shop that sadly we found to be no longer in business. My husband asked if we wanted to grab lunch and we saw Pocho's was open so we hit it up. Tres Amigos is a flight of dips: guac, queso and salsa. Two glasses of cab and a Bloody Mary with all the fixings per bartender's choice. Grilled fish tacos were divine and they have black beans. The truest confirmation they cook with healthy ingredients. We'll be back. So good! Loved the bar area.

The ambiance is bright and the decor is a great vibe. Took my daughter for a little date night, someone was having a birthday and they blasted music with sparklers and everyone singing, it was cool. I ordered fajitas and they are fantastic, I went with the trio which gave you "a little of all three" chicken, steak and shrimp. They come with rice, beans, lettuce and a little pico. The portion was great for $20 and the service was wonderful. Nice spot and fun! We will be back, they made adjustments since opening and are dialed in nicely

    Tacos Al Pastor

Our recent visit to Pocho's Tequila and Cocina left me absolutely delighted! From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. But what truly stole the show were the mouthwatering dishes we had the pleasure of savoring. First and foremost, the Pollo con Calabaza was an absolute standout. The tender chicken paired perfectly with the rich flavors of cream sauce. It was evident that the dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, as every bite was bursting with flavor. Spicy cream sauce -- if you order spicy food regularly, this will be mild. If you have a mild palate, this will be spicy. Know thyself! Next up were the Tacos Al Pastor, and let me tell you, they were a true masterpiece. The sweet and savory flavors of the marinated pork and pineapple were expertly balanced. The meat was tender, juicy, and paired beautifully with the fresh toppings (cilantro, onion, lime, salsa) and warm blue corn tortillas. (I wish they had an option to order tacos a la cart) The salsa flight features 4 traditional homemade salsas. I would describe them as a red restaurant salsa, a spicy salsa (that I did not try bc it smelled intimidatingly hot), salsa verde/tomatillo, and a smoky Chipotle salsa. All were very good! Love that the sides are elevated beyond standard fare. The peppers and spinach were delicious, the frijoles were great, the cilantro lime rice is refreshing! Definitely more variety (eat your veggies!). The service throughout our visit was fantastic. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and made sure that all needs were met. The attention to detail and genuine care for the customers truly elevated the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Pocho's Tequila and Cocina is a gem that deserves nothing less than a 5-star review. From the tender and delicious Pollo con Calabaza to the savory sweet tacos Al pastor, every dish was delicious. Can't wait to return and explore more of their enticing menu!

Food was delicious and fresh. We tried the enchiladas and tortilla soup. Tasted homemade. Will definitely return. Ambiance was clean and modern and service was great.

We parked around the corner and walked to Mariposa. We Noticed that the man hole covers had maps of the Earthworks. The walk to Mariposa's restroom was interesting. It winds all the way to the back of the building past exposed brick walls showing the buildings history. There are maybe 10 booths or tables along the left or right walls Down the center is a HUGE community table. I came with a group of close to 30 seated at the community table. Which was perfect for us! We rolled in right at noon on Taco Tuesday. (They were expecting us) One waitress was assigned to our table. She was great! Chips +salsa was served with glasses of cold water for each diner at our community table when we walked in. The salsa was mild but also cooked and served warm. The chips had a hint of lime. Hubs had the smothered chicken burrito and said it was fantastic. One huge burrito stuffed with rice, beans, meat) with queso Blanco poured over the top. There may have been more inside the burrito. I ordered the "any 3 Tacos for $10" Special and enjoyed chicken, carnitas, baria with consume. I'm a big barra fan and never pass up the opportunity to find great baria. The barria was just ok but the consume tasted burned. And since the taco was grilled in the consume the entire taco was unpleasant. Also served on the side was a small verde salsa with a little kick. Loved it! I scraped the protein out of the tacos for a lower carb lunch with the zucchini and really enjoyed my meal. We agreed we would return next time we are in Newark. By the way, we were there to tour the newest UNISCO World Heritage Site- the Great Circle Ceremonial Earthworks. The museum is open Thursday-Sunday from 10-4. At 2:00 a Docent hosts a tour of the circle. Best $10 I've spent in a long time! Make a half day of it and visit the Earthworks and Mariposa while in Newark.

My rating would be a 3 on a few things and a 4 on others but the staff is so friendly and nice it bumps it to a 4 easy, Its hard to find genuinely nice people and they are either great actors or my guess is good nice staff!! Fajitas are very good if I would have only got shrimp, it was tender and delicious and all the veggies were perfect but the steak is not so good and would skip that next time. It's tough and not much flavor. The tacos were all good, the Beria taco dipping sauce was weird and not our jam. Overall a nice spot in downtown Newark that we will try again.
