After I told him what I needed he said go straight to the cashier tell them what you need and they will ring it up. This place is huge! I'm not sure why we haven't considered coming here before instead of always going to the one on NW Expy all the time. By the looks of it we will need to go back soon so we can finish looking at the outdoors part of the store as the husband's knee was bothering him. I bought so much while we were there because they carry just about everything! I was looking for some plants, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite, and a few pest killers, and they had a good selection as well as uninflated prices compared to some other plant places. Oh, and their plant pots were so pretty! They had a myriad of sizes of the standard terracottas and some really gorgeous ceramic ones. I now know where to go when I need them in the future. As a newbie container gardener it was quite a treat to see so many beautiful plants and they all looked healthy and taken care of. Plenty of succulents too! TLC was buzzling with lots of plant shoppers as it was a nice sunny Saturday. I can't say enough good things about this place and their inventory. Customer service wise, our cashier was lovely and the staff around the premises seemed happy to be working there. We won't be going back to the other TLC anymore that's for sure. read more

I love this store! Walking into the main greenhouse is amazing! They have a huge variety of plants and vegetables. Rarely do they not have what I am looking for. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Since today is the first day of the planting season, they were very busy, so it was a bit difficult to get around but totally worth it. Their vegetable plants are always about a dollar cheaper than Home Depot or Lowe's, and the quality is far better. read more

This place is FULL of poinsettias. I took some pictures just so you could see how insane it is. We came in to get some ideas for what we want to with our front garden beds at our new house, but I kind of doubt my husband would have brought me here had he known the greenhouse was truly wall-to-wall poinsettias. I could not leave there without half a dozen in various sizes. They also had lots of cute accoutrements, like nicer holiday pots, bows, and even little soft bags to go around the standard plastic pots. I think I made them mad when I went into the little potting shed area to add my own baskets and things, but it wasn't very clear that that was for employees only. Not my first time to step in it and probably not my last. We also got the cutest thing I've ever seen: a little rosemary bush, shaped like a Christmas tree. It's darling, and when it's a little warmer we'll plant it and have a good sized rosemary bush at our new place. I don't really want to think about how much money we will spend here over the years... but it turns out you can't take it with you, so why not buy flowers while you can? read more

I want to start off by saying I have a green thumb and I've been planting/taking care of plants for years. I spent over $200 on mums here. They weren't fully bloomed when I bought them, where other places such as Lowe's and Home Depot had them fully bloomed for a fraction of the price. Despite doing everything to care for them, they never fully grew and eventually became brittle. They went in the trash along with over $200 spent. I came in with my friend today and was very sad about our experience. I have been here once before and enjoyed it so I brought her along. Unfortunately,there were so many diseased and dying plants among all the healthy plants that it prevented us from wanting to buy anything new. Multiple of their Jade plants had fungi and were close to all their other plants. They need to separate their dying/dead plants into another area. Another sad thing to see was that about a third of their plants had weeds growing in them (this was a first for me to see in a garden center)! They earn the 3 stars because they have a large inventory and a lot of unique plants. Their employees are also very friendly and knowledgable and eager to help. The prices are a little high but they have some plants that you cant find many other places. I am sad my friend got a horrible first impression and won't want to come back again. My mom has raved about this place for years. I hope that this was an off time of the year and that things improve. I mihht come back another time and see if things have improved. read more

One of the most expensive nurseries in the area. They have a good selection of plants, but the prices are just too prohibitive. I have had hit or miss experience with the staff when visiting. If you're looking for a great selection of plants and flowers, you could do worse than TLC Garden Centers. You're also bound to find some helpful and friendly employees (Darrell in the Nursery and Rachel the cashier come to mind). Good times abound assuming, of course, that you're already a pro at all things gardening/landscaping and you don't have the displeasure of interacting with one of TLC's managers (Alendra? Alendrea? Alandra? I forgot how it was pronounced). The rod up this lady's butt must have a rod up its butt because every interaction with her has resulted in curt and derisive one-sided conversations. I'm totally new to this landscaping stuff so I was kinda overwhelmed when I walked into TLC for the first time. Not wanting to be the guy who just walks around aimlessly, I went up to a group of employees and asked, "Hi, where can I find lawn edging stuff?" To which a lady responded, "...in the edging section??" "...oh, okay...thanks" I'd later come to learn that that lady's name was Alandra. My wife immediately noticed her tone, as if we were dummies for asking her a question but we left it alone and kept shopping. We ended up redoing our entire front yard flower beds. We bought barberry bushes, juniper trees, flowers, sage plants, etc. and the bill came out to ~$1k over the course of a couple visits (while on the subject, plants and flowers are stupid expensive and my heart hurt when I saw the total bill). When we were working on getting our barberry bushes planted, we noticed that one of the six bushes we bought was rapidly dying. We watered them all diligently and the five bushes were doing great but this one was slowly losing leaves and overall just not looking great. So I took it back to TLC because I heard they had a 90 day return policy. It had been a week since purchase so I figured I could get my money back because we settled on only planting the five alongside everything else we had purchased. I brought the barberry into the store and located a cashier to help with a return. The cashier said, "alright we're going to give you back $43 and some change back in store credit" to which I asked, "is it possible to get the money back on my card?" (because, you know, I was kinda done with garden shopping for the foreseeable future) and she said, "well, let me check with a manager" and called Alandra over. Cashier: Alandra, this gentleman bought six barberrys and one of them isn't doing well and he was wondering if he could get a refund instead of store credit. Alendra: (long pause, looking at the barberry) No. He burned the barberry, I can't resell it. (now looking at me) This barberry is dying, I can't resell it so you'll get store credit (walks off). Have you ever just been dumbfounded because of the way someone said something to you and your only response is a blank stare? Like you needed a moment to register how dismissive and flippant someone acted? I haven't felt like that since I worked in retail as a cashier, but every moment of condescension came from the customer, not the other way around. Peoples at TLC, I have a couple questions 1. I spent so much freaking money on you and you're not willing to work with me over $43? 2. How is me being sold a dying bush suddenly my fault? Alandra came at me as if I actively and wantonly set out to kill a bush I spent money on, only to return it for the fun of it. 3. Seriously, Alandra...would it kill you to interact with people without acting like an elitist a-hole? I had plenty of good interactions with the nursery workers and cashiers, but this manager managed to suck any remaining goodwill out of me. Edit: This was a 2 star review but Frank's non-apology comment basically saying, "I'm sorry you feel that way" was enough for me drop it down another star. "As to your feeling you were not treated properly, I will definitely discuss wit[h] the manager of that department." isn't an apology, Frank. It implies that I *felt* like your manager was rude, instead of you acknowledging or owning up to the idea that your manager acted like a gardening cave troll. read more

Wow, all of these glowing reviews..I guess I'm the only gardening/landscaping fanatic that doesn't have a money tree growing $100 bills in my backyard. Because to me the prices here are outrageous. $30 for a basic Clematis?! $40 for a small Hydrangea! So many of their perennials and shrubs are Monrovia and other ridiculously overpriced (and overrated, obsolete) growers. If you are an Edmond elite with money to burn, this is the garden center for you. After all they have great selection and lovely grounds. But for average folk like myself, don't even bother stopping at this place. Unless you are taking out a healthy home improvement loan first. For you budget gardeners out there, the nursery just down the road is much easier on the bank account. Go there. read more

First of all, this place rocks. Their plants stew reasonably priced and they have a huge variety. In fact, I wish I had come here first. Oh well, next time I'll go here first. They had so many varieties of tomatoes it was amazing. Almost all of their plants looked happy and healthy. They have tons of hot peppers. I could almost sulk because I want shishito peppers and I didn't see any. But just almost. Because that's such a speciality pepper I really didn't expect it. It took us years to get our previous garden right because it was full, afternoon sun, but we wanted it to be colorful. Seriously though, if you have a chance to walk around this place with ear buds, I highly suggest queuing up these songs. The plants will start to dance with you! Okay, but to comment on this place in just simple adjectives would not do it justice. It's beautiful, huge, with the friendliest staff and most amazing amount of choices. Want to start your own rock garden full of about 30 different varieties of succulents? Want to build your own tree farm? Want to buy your mom a flower just because? This is the place. I want to build my house in one of the sections of this store. It's amazing. And did I mention huge? Yeah, it's huge. Fair selection of houseplants but be prepared to empty your wallet. $50 and $60 for a simple moth orchid (phalaenopsis) is nuts. Even the most common houseplants are far overpriced. I would only recommend this place for plants if you were needing something ASAP, perhaps for a gift. I don't know how to reply to the business owner so I will update my review. At this location none of the moth orchids were priced below $49.99 and some were $59.99. I am an experienced orchid hobbyist with several genus under my care - paphiopedilum, dendrobium, and vandas among my most prized. I have never seen these prices for phalaenopsis. $40 is a bit better, depending on the species but nothing I saw on that day stuck out. Perhaps the prices were due to COVID, I don't know. But I do know quality orchids when I see them and these were no different than what can regularly be purchased at Whole Foods or Sprouts. Common species, overpacked in sphagnum, which will need to be repotted ASAP. Also of concern, all of the orchids on that day were missing their genus and species tag. This is extremely important to the orchid buyer! Some hobbyists will avoid purchase of unidentified plants as this is an indicator of lower quality clones. Thanks for your reply though!! TLC is by far the leader in the Midwest when it comes to all things involving plants, shurbry, trees, shrubs, and everything one could imagine to plant, maintain, and diagnose issues like fungus, bug, etc. My family has been loyal customers for eight years. FYI : the elderly gentlemen in the front of the store does a Donald duck impersonation that our son adores!!! This is a family run business and has donated it's time and resources to the State by regularing partnering with OSU Cooperative Extension Service to demonstrate and highlight the abundant flora and fauna and proper management thereof as related to planrs, trees, and shubs(most of which are native to Oklahoma). TLC regularly appears on Oklahoma Gardening! And is a great employer from young to old. In fact, the curator of Myriad Gardens in down town OKC used to work for TLC (per an online article). We've been to TLC Garden Center several times even though it isn't close to where we live. They have great variety of plants (in-season of course) and they're reasonably priced. Everything from vegetables, to flowers, succulents, trees, shrubs, etc. The best thing is that they grow almost everything here locally. Either in their greenhouses or in Guthrie/somewhere close by. I'm sure that we'll keep coming back even though we typically go to Atwood's, Lowe's Home Depot, etc because they're closer. read more

This is my new favorite place! Spring is around the corner and I love the smell of fresh flowers and plants! Their selection is pretty impressive! My favorite thing about TLC is that they are a truly local gardening center - if you go to a big box hardware store for plants, it's hard to tell if you're buying the right plants for the unique climate of central Oklahoma. Same with lawn advice - you need central Oklahoma specialists to tell you about what shade grasses and full sun grasses will do best out here, and if you should overseed or pre-emerge or dethatch. It's nice to have a place to go where they can advise you on how to handle your specific situation, because once you start dealing with gardens and lawns, you realize just how many variables there can be. They also have a huge selection of plants and plenty of people to help you pick the perfect one. If I could give them NO stars I would. My husband and I have shopped there for years. We've bought not only plants and shrubs, but many pots and outdoor decor. The first time in over 10 years that we had a problem, we were not going to be helped. We planted 12 of their tomato plants and 8 of them died. When we called to see if we had to dig them up and bring them in for an exchange, we learned they no longer have a replacement policy. TLC will only replace shrubs or trees IF they planted them for you (and if you read the reviews that's not even true). We were shocked and sad to find out they didn't have our back. I'm a college student that wanted a few hardy, nice looking plants that attract butterflies and easily found them here. I was helped immediately once I got there. Doc and Phillip were incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly and helped me find exactly what I needed for my situation and even stopped what they were doing to walk with me to show me where things were and never pushed me to buy anything, just showed me my options. I am writing this review as a follow up to a previous entry. I did originally have a problem with my plants, and I did encounter an employee who was not sympathetic or helpful regarding my issue. However, I understand everyone has their "off" days and, since reporting my difficulties, each person I've encountered at TLC has been very helpful. They have helped to amend the situation to my satisfaction- even going above and beyond to follow up with me, and this is very appreciated.
