It says a lot about the ethics of a company when the vice president of the company Candice Becker writes her own review on Google. It makes the reviewer believe she is a paying customer. It really makes a person wonder how many of the other reviews on there or here are authentic customers. We wanted biweekly mowing during the summer. The person we spoke to said the owners don't like to do biweekly mowing even if the grass does not need to be trimmed and will refuse to set up business accounts for those who want it completed biweekly. He stated just to call prior to the scheduled mowing date to cancel for the week and that would be sufficient. Despite canceling with sufficient notice (well over 48 hours) they repeatedly sent staff to the residence to complete yard work and billed. Their customer service is sub-par and the way the staff verbally treats customers is unbelievable. I will say their work is above average and they are punctual but that is as good as I will give TLC. In my opinion keep a file with complete names, dates, times, and the content of conversations when transacting business. I learned the hard way by not documenting everything down to the minute detail and won't ever make this mistake again. Get everything in writing, including if you cancel service for any reason whatsoever. They have e-mail. And, if you are really wise, record all the phone call discussions, including when you cancel service. All smartphones have a recording option. This way if you ever have a dispute you will have hard evidence of their discrepancies along with phone records. They could be recording their own phone calls but record your own just in case since Kansas state law is one-party consent. This means they don't need to disclose they are recording conversations and you don't have to disclose you are recording either. read more

We've had TLC Lawn Care for years & we wouldn't go anywhere else! Their work is fantastic and their customer service spot on whether its a field worker or office staff personal! We own our own business as well where prepay services are available to our customers. I mention this to address the lunatic "Chris T.". It is the government who raises taxes, not the people, did you know that, Chris? My company has over 10,000 loyal customers who 'get it'! If my customers did not have brains, & didn't want to pay the raising of taxes each year, we would loose 10's of 1,000's of dollars. I imagine this 'Chris T.' person lives off of the government & probably still complains about the mistreatment they receive on every level. We hired them because others in our neighborhood use them, and their lawns look very good. They never burned our lawn with their treatments, and the yard looked fine for the most part, except for the time they had to come out three times to reapply the weed treatment. One specific problem I had with them was over communication issues, which took too long to resolve. If it wasn't for these issues, we would have resigned with them and I would be giving them at least four stars. They'll do a fine job on your yard, if you want to hire them. I sadly had to fire TLC Last spring. Their "new guy" thought my 2 ft high sunflowers in my flower garden were weeds! When brought to the service managers attention he justified the workers actions by telling me he was a nice guy and asked me what I wanted him to do about it?...all in the same sentence. ( f*k off dude.) If you have to ask your customer "What do you want me to do about it?" I was using another company and paying a lot to stop the bag worms and the needle shedding and dying branches of our white pines and spruces. We spent so much time picking bag worms off our trees. We switched to TLC and our trees are bagworm free and much healthier than they were previously, and we saved money!
