I would give TLC Pet Transport ZERO stars. I hired them to transport 2 cats from MD to MA, about an 8 hour drive. I was promised a crate for each cat, with room in each crate for cat litter, food and water In a large van. The driver texted me from the pick up site, and he had no crates with him. He bought crates. The cats were in 2 small soft sided crates In the back of a small car. Neither cat had room in the crates to lie down. Neither had food, water or litter for the 8 hour drive. Luckily both arrived healthily. When I complained about this to the contact in TN, she blamed it on the driver, refused to give me a discount and told me I had to contact the driver directly to get some money back for this debacle. Further, she said she would call me back after calling the driver. I never got a call. Tho she was the contracting party with the driver, she refused to take any responsibility for not fulfilling the promised conditions of the transport. We had an excellent experience using TLC. We had our 3 large, anxious dogs transported from New Mexico to New England. Gale and her team were very accommodating in having three people transport them as our dogs are very strong and not the best behaved on leashes. They were able to pick the dogs up from our local boarding facility which was SUPER helpful when it came to coordinating the transport with our moving schedule. As a bonus, they sent us plenty of pictures and videos of our dogs along the ride. They even stopped at dog parks along the way! They dropped them off intact and happy. The price was reasonable considering the distance. We were super nervous using a transport service because of the size and strength of our dogs and were very afraid they would run away or bite but the transport team clearly does a good job and our dogs knew they would be cared for. They cannot take ownership over their own clerical mistake. Initially, I had one date in mind to ship my dog cross country and then changed it, which was confirmed in an e-mail. Gail made the mistake of keeping the initial date in mind. While I did sign off on the wrong date, the rest of my paperwork reflected the actual date I wanted. You would think this would have been double checked by TLC. But, no. And while I tried to explain this mishap calmly, I received unprofessional e-mail responses back, in all caps, as if yelling at me was going to make things clearer. I felt really disrespected by this company. And to think, I was going to put the love of my life into their hands. I can admit when I make an error, but certainly they cannot. Luckily, she did give me a refund (mostly because I sent her a screen shot of her literally saying the date I wanted was available), but again, extremely rude. Tried to make me feel like the idiot. I am still upset that I won't be seeing my dog as soon as I hoped. Fair warning- re-read and re-read all of the paperwork. Follow up immediately with TLC because they certainly do not read and follow through on their own paperwork. I would think twice using this company. read more

We moved across country this past spring and the most stressful part of the move was trying to figure out how I would get my very anxious cat and dog to California. I was DREADING the idea of flying them and after weeks of research, I decided to contact TLC. I could not be happier with our choice to hire them. The paperwork and payment situation were quick and easy, and Gale provided a set date/time for pickup extremely quickly. Doug was our driver and I cannot begin to describe what a kind, gentle soul he is. I would hire him to care for my pets 10 times over. He allowed us to call as often as we wanted to check-in and never made me feel like a nuisance for it. He took great care of my boys and made it across country in just 3.5 days. So, I contacted this rude person, Robert, regarding their credit card practices. I wrote: "I was needing your services from CA to TN, but you listed a very unethical and illegal practice: 'There is also a 2.9 credit card processing fee.' Merchant account companies FORBID this in your contract and it is illegal. For that, I am not interested in your company and will consider contacting the legal resources about this." His response back: "I try to give my customers a cheaper cost. I could have just quoted you the higher one and given you no choice what so ever. Why do you want to be such a jerk about it. I don't like to transport for people with your disposition anyway. I'm glad you showed your true colors. I sure hope you treat your cat better Robert. God's blessing to you in the future." How dare this jerk try to give me "God's Blessings" when he is breaking the law and screwing over customers. I would suggest that all of you that have used their services with a credit card, check your receipts for the additional charges. You can report it to the merchant services for that card (i.e. mastercard, visa, american express, etc.) This company will lose all merchant services rights and will no longer be allowed to accept those cards. read more

It has taken me almost 2 months to calm down enough to be able to write this review. While my cats arrived safely, I was not happy with the manner of transport as it was not what I paid a LOT of money for. The kennel cats were flimsy $15 nylon ones from Walmart, not the canvas sturdy framed ones they claim. The vehicle was a smaller suv, not the van as promised. So while I was told I could send extra suitcases with the cats (private transport) they didn't fit. The owner acknowledged she had prior problems with the lady driver from Texas using the wrong crates, but did nothing about it, other than suggesting she drive all the way back to TX from AZ pickup before heading XCountry. My cats didn't need an additional 800 miles in the van. The driver did not make provisions for water in the crates, no way to secure them, but I insisted as cats don't drink on command like dogs. When I further complained they both threw each under the bus, blaming the other. Owner wanted driver to refund me some money, she refused to. As the owner is ultimately responsible, she should have refunded some money as she is the one who knew this driver was a problem and used her anyway. If you do use this company DO NOT pay 100% up front as she demands. You have no recourse when you do. If you can find a different company, use someone else. read more

We used TLC to transport our 1 year old mixed breed pup, Penny, from Oregon to Tennessee. The pricing was reasonable and our driver, Doug, was fantastic. We hired TLC to transport our cats 1300 miles across the country in 2019. A drive that should have taken 28 hours took 44 hours! When our cats arrived at the veterinarian's office, where they were to be boarded until we arrived, they smelled of cigarette smoke. One of our cats, who was transported to have a special medical procedure performed ended up passing away several weeks after the transport. The other cat has severe respiratory problems to this day. I called to have my mother in laws dog brought to us, due to her diagnosed with cancer. I spoke with the owner Gale and I can't say enough great things about her and her company. You can tell she cares about your pet. Her drivers are GREAT. We also had to have a puppy transported to us. We had to use another transport company , TLC only does across the country trip once a month. Both dogs got here the same day and I was just so shocked by the difference of the company's. The driver for TLC, James was so kind and made sure our baby was taken care of. He texted at least once a day to give me a update. The other company texted me at 4:57 am that there was a problem with the puppy. I texted them for 13 hours, with no response. I am a breeder of Bulldogs and I will TLC again! Their driver was 36 hours late and finally cancelled causing us to lose the price of airfare, change fees, rental car to drive our pets ourselves, days off of work, and extreme stress. The company did refund but were very pissy about doing so. Kept trying to get us to put our cats in a kennel so they could pick them up after we moved. Their driver ended up cancelling by stating his vehicle could not go over mountains, this after calling from Las Vegas saying he would be late. As far as we can determine, he lost everything he needed to do the job and found some excuse that we were supposed to buy. We had our sweet puppy delivered by a TLC flight nanny yesterday and it was the MOST positive experience!! Not only were they able to arrange a flight nanny within a few days of our request, but Mary, the flight nanny, provided a nurturing experience for our Mini Bernedoodle. Communication was absolutely excellent: we received continuous text updates including photos of our pup through both legs of their trip; she communicated effectively with the breeder as well. She made sure to feed and walk our puppy before the connecting flight. She arrived on time and all the flights went well. I am giving this business 3 stars because of the transporter his name is Tim. Tim was absolutely wonderful with my black lab Yankee. My issue was with Gale Lang the owner and her untruthfulness about the way the dogs are transported and crated. As it turned out our Yankee is very well behaved and well trained so Tim felt he was fine without a crate which was good as the crate that Gale designated for him was too small he could not stand straight and he could not turn abound. A review on Brandon who drove our French Bulldog from Boston, MA to Portland, OR: I truly don't have the words to express how grateful I am for the care and consideration that he showed both Roli and me throughout the transport process. On our initial call, he was focused on learning all of Roli's special needs as well as my expectations of him during the trip. We were struggling with getting a hold of Roli's food over the holiday and he was willing to pick it up on the ride back in order to stick to the schedule. He even came prepared with a seat belt for Roli. Every day we received calls, updates, and images of Roli. It was clear from all of his observations how very close the attention was that he was paying to our little guy. He noticed things that even his dad sometimes doesn't pick up! I was blown away by his suggestion to give Roli a bath because he was exhibiting signs of allergies. He took the effort to get the right shampoo and gave him a bath so he was fresh and comfortable on the day he returned to us. I know full well that I am a crazy dog mom. Roli was my first "baby" and I was super nervous about sending him across country without us, given the anxiety and car sickness he experiences, not to mention all the typical Frenchie problems and the recent back surgery he had. Brandon was so empathetic to me and by day 2, I had almost zero worries for Roli under his care. Relocating cats is difficult. Relocating nervous cats that are rescues is REALLY difficult!! Gale and Leigh (our driver) made it seem easy. I needed to transport two 7-month old rescue cats from Miami to MA. I called around for quotes but only Gale at TLC put me at ease and treated the cats like family and not cargo. Our driver, Leigh, was an absolute rock star! Connecting with me and immediately reaching out to the adopter in MA, she was very proactive and coordinated between pickup and drop off. We had TLC Pet Transport move our dogs from California to Missouri. Originally we wanted to use one of the group transports that monthly goes West to East, but the closest TLC could get to our house in MO was over 150 miles away, making it not feasible given our needs. Luckily the cost to move 2 dogs via their private transport service was reasonable so we opted for that option. After several emails and calls with Gail, she was able to find a driver but not until 2 weeks later than we were hoping for. Nevertheless, we booked the trip and were off. While we weren't there for the pickup, our driver Christian, kept in regular communication via text message and managed to get our dogs to us on time despite one of the craziest spring storms on record in the mid-west. The dogs arrived in good shape and on time and we'd use TLC again should we need to move the pups again. read more
