Nothing but fluff. Though I may give the actual host some benefit of a doubt. But the rest of the cadavers are consider the source.

A new idea for a reality show - "The Kunts of Kalabasas"! Fits perfectly with the Kris Jenner alliteration. I own the trademark!

I'm a big fan of NPR and its local stations, KCRW and KPCC, which are both in constant rotation in my car. I visited NPR West last month to record an interview for All Things Considered, which aired on October 30. My new book had just come out, and it was an absolute dream to talk to Ailsa Chang about it and hear the interview air on my commute a week later. A life experience I will never forget. The offices were cool, though most of my time was spent alone in a recording booth. It seems like someone on this page was disappointed there was nothing in place to cater to NPR fans and tourists, but that didn't surprise me. This seemed more like a place for L.A. area employees and guests, to facilitate programming from a hub in a large West Coast city. I had guest parking with my name on it in the lot, and I geekily took a picture that I will treasure for all time. It was an honor and a pleasure to visit NPR West. I'm a regular listener and supporter, and I'd be at least 10% stupider if it weren't for public radio.

But repeatedly, no one answers the phone, and they repeatedly never respond to voicemail messages. They used to, but not anymore. I know they were sold again recently, so it's starting to appear that they (like other print publications) may have stopped their printed editions in favor of just being made available online. All said, they've always had GREAT content, but WHEN or IF you can pick up a copy locally anymore. And at least either answer your phone or respond to inquiries because we've started to lose interest.

My expectations for pseudo-investigative journalism and political pieces flanked by editorials filled with foaming-at-the-mouth liberalism were so high. The Austin Chronicle puts you to shame in these departments. I'll give credit where credit is due, though. Thank you for a rather thorough concert calendar. And thank you for being free and plentiful, as well, because you'll come in handy the next time I have to move and need to wrap my dishes again.

Frosty is a great pianist, Frank is the man's man (FRANK ARMY) and Heidi, what's not to love, she's a lesbian, every man's fantasy...and don't forget that tongue! They talk about nothing, make fun of each other, make fun of stuff on the news and you just can't help but love those three. They're a great pick me up in the mornings. Always a great and a new(unique) show. Tom Leykis was the first talk radio show I have ever listened. Very entertaining, except sometimes he tends to talk about same stuff over and over. Not many people seem to like him, as you can tell by other reviews but you just can't help it but agree with him 99% of the time. lol If you get tired of listening to your MP3s, and can't stand the music stations that play same 10 songs over and over, you should definitely give this radio station a try.

I use the Culver City Observer to finalize my business license with the DBA filling and newspaper publication which is required by law upon setting up a new business. The Culver City Observer gives excellent and friendly service. They will also help you take care of the DBA filling at the LA County Registar office. All you have to do is just fill out the DBA form and supply a separate check for the LA County. What great service, totally saving me a trip all the way down to Norwalk and avoiding the awful experience dealing with the government employee attitude...it's not a pleasant experience just like the DMV. This is a mom and pop operation but it gets the job done and it's a great alternative to the other major newspaper. I rather support the local businesses. Note: Use the front entrance of the Barber shop and walk to the back to Culver City Observer. You can't miss it. It is also located right across the street from Tanner's Coffee on the same side of the street. Also they have changed their telephone number to: 424-835-4209.

In fact, when the writers would get paid, we would intentionally go to check cashing places to avoid screwing up our banks! That way, if the check bounced (and there was a 50/50 shot it would), at least we knew the check cashing places (and not our individual banks) would take the hit and ultimately go after the owner-operator Steve Hadland, who's also listed in some of these other reviews! Somewhat shocked that I even found them here on Yelp! What's more, the owner now doesn't even live or operate the business in Culver City, but rather runs it out of state, remotely. I guess you could say he really has his hands on things, a real boots on the ground type of guy! Yeah, right!

I can only find five listenable L.A. commercial radio stations including, grudgingly, easy-listening 94.7 The Wave, in case of a miracle. But memory button #1 is set at 88.9, public radio from Loyola Marymount University in Westchester. To me, a sporadic indie-music listener, almost everything KXLU plays is uncommon, refreshing, and a hopeful note for music's present and future. Some of the DJs are noticeably underripe, but it's fun to hear young broadcasters as they develop their air personas. The station streams live on kxlu.com, and could broaden one's tastes with its variety of specialty programs, some including "noise music" (Oh, how I wish a radio station would have played that back in the homework days). TIME-WARP DIALOG...Mom: "What's that NOISE you're listening to?" Young KXLU Listener: "Noise, mom." International music consists of mostly Latin titles as played on its durable weekend fixture, "Alma del Barrio," bringing to mind loitering over empty pitchers of sangria at Venice Boulevard's Versailles Cuban restaurant. After a lengthy listening hiatus, it was a delight to find an old favorite, Reverend Dan, still hosting "Music for Nimrods," a program in the spirit of '70s phenoms Frazer Smith, Rodney Bingenheimer (both on KROQ) and Dr. Demento (KPPC, KMET); a bonanza of old, new, rare and novelty tracks, and DJ patter nimbly fitted to end with his production-music backing tune. It's a great segue into a Saturday hangover (3-6 a.m.). My recent return to KXLU, due to disgust at blocks of radio commercials with occasional rock-music interruptions, has me hoping it won't be necessary to again work the TEAC remote's memory buttons--except for maybe #3, The Wave.
