(Avoid This Seller) Please think twice before purchasing from TN Nursery. You will likely be disappointed. It is incredibly frustrating to see a company operate this way, taking advantage of passionate gardeners. Unfortunately, this is my second time ordering from them, and both experiences resulted in dead plants. First Experience: Upon receiving clearly unhealthy plants, I contacted customer service immediately. I was told the plants were simply "dormant" and instructed to wait two weeks before submitting evidence via a "thumbnail test." I followed their instructions exactly, but my concerns were completely dismissed. Second Experience: Lured back by relentless email and text marketing, I foolishly gave them another chance. The second shipment arrived completely rootless and visibly dead. Remembering their previous instructions to wait, I gave it a week before calling. This time, I was told I should have reported the issue within 24 hours. Their only solution was to offer a 10% discount on another order. No thank you. The Bottom Line: With TN Nursery, the customer is always wrong. If you call immediately, they tell you to wait. If you wait, they tell you it is too late. They are playing games with people who genuinely care about their gardens. I will never buy from them again.

Ordered live root blue irises. Several of the plants were a joke. They had as few as two roots. Why would they send me these? I found my answer when I complained. I was told that I didn't report the issue within 24 hours. Instead I had reported it in 48 hours. If I was you I consider a different company.

Garbage. I bought 25 bare root purple coneflowers for $59.99. I have attached pictures of the box of dirt I received. It appears to be seedlings in a partial flat of potting soil. The plastic in the pictures is a bag that was cut in half and the flat was shoved in the bag. So basically, I paid $59.99 for a box of loose dirt and some seedlings. The pictures on their website and that they emailed to me representing how my "bare roots" would look are a clear misrepresentation of the product. This is clearly a bait and switch.

Honest Review of TN Nursery In January, I placed an order for 150 pine trees, along with their buy-one-get-one-free deal on pecan and walnut trees. I was really excited about this order, especially since I'm working on planting on my property. When March came around and my order was supposed to arrive, I hadn't heard anything. I reached out by email asking for an update, and instead of responding, they just shipped part of my order. The only reason I even knew was because I have a UPS account and could track it myself. The first shipment (my pine trees) did arrive via UPS with the 2-day shipping I paid for, and that part went smoothly. However, my fruit trees (pecan and walnut) were completely missing. I emailed them again asking where the rest of my order was. Once again, no real response--just a shipment notification. This time, instead of using the UPS 2-day shipping I paid for, they sent my trees through USPS, which is taking about 8 days. That's a huge difference, especially for live plants, and honestly it feels very intentional. To make things worse, I was also shorted 15 pine trees out of the 150 I ordered. I didn't initially report it because I had them sitting in water for a few days while waiting for help to plant, and I didn't notice right away. But since I was already dealing with missing items, I brought it up when I called. I was told it was "too late" to report it and there was nothing they could do. There was no effort to help or make it right. Customer service overall has been very disappointing. Responses either didn't address my concerns or didn't come at all. At one point, they even told me to do a "scratch test" on the trees--which had nothing to do with the issue I was asking about. When I questioned the 8-day shipping, they responded by saying their trees are packed to last 15 days, instead of addressing why I didn't receive the shipping service I paid for. At this point, my remaining trees still haven't arrived, and I honestly don't feel confident about their condition when they do. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I do NOT recommend this company. On the other hand, I've had a great experience with Fast Growing Trees--their customer service and quality have been excellent, and I would recommend them instead.

I ordered six trees from TN Nursery in April 2025. Shortly after placing the order, I was informed that two Fuyu persimmon trees were already out of season and could not be shipped until the fall. I immediately requested cancellation of the entire order, but my request was denied. The problems continued with the bare-root pecan and chestnut trees that were shipped. Their survival became a prolonged dispute. I patiently provided multiple pieces of evidence to demonstrate that the trees were dead, but the warranty credit I eventually received was not even sufficient to cover the cost of replacement trees. The two long-awaited Fuyu persimmon trees finally arrived in December 2025, about eight months after I placed the original order. I immediately planted them in pots and cared for them. Neither tree produced any leaves. I communicated with TN Nursery multiple times about their condition. A scratch test in May showed green tissue in both stems, so I continued waiting. Now, in August, one tree is dead. The other stem is still green, but it has yet to produce a single leaf. After more than a year of dealing with this order, warranty claims, replacement issues, and repeated communications, I am running out of patience. Based on my experience, it would have been much easier to buy healthy, living trees from a local nursery or farmers' market, where I could inspect the plants before paying for them. Before placing an order with TN Nursery, I recommend thinking carefully about whether the potential savings are worth the time, uncertainty, and hassle if something goes wrong.

These guys are scammers, will send you dead sticks with no roots. I got 5 sticks from them and none survived. They sold me the trees with a 1-year guarantee which they no longer offer and ignored my emails when I asked about it. I ordered 3-4 ft trees this year thinking maybe the bigger ones would work better, and they sent me 2 ft trees as a "Substitution" with no partial refund, just here take this cheaper item instead. Avoid these scumbags like the plague.

Do not buy from this company. I purchased two mimosa trees and after months of them showing no growth what so ever I contacted the company and was told there was nothing they could do because I did not purchase the extra guarantee-- on something that should have been guaranteed in the first place. Then after reading a well deserved bad review I posted, one of the owners of TN Nursery wanted me to contact them so they could make this right (in their exact words) and after countess e-mails back and forth claiming they somehow can't place me with my order, not with my name, address, two different e-mails; yet when I first contacted them they had no problem assessing from all that information that i had no recourse because I had not purchased the extended warranty. This whole experience has been disappointing and frustrating.

My girlfriend and our families have been frequent customers of TN Nursery over the past year, and it's honestly become a big part of our lives. I'm much more involved outdoors than before thanks to TN Nursery, we now have healthy wisteria trees, sugar maples, ground covers, and recently added redbuds and pawpaws to our collection! We recently visited their location on our way to Nashville, and you truly could not meet more loving and compassionate people. We spent nearly an hour talking about our trip to Sequoia National Park, our struggles trying to grow redbuds from seed, and our shared love for horticulture. We even brought along a small Giant Sequoia sapling to show them, which they genuinely appreciated. You can tell immediately that they truly love what they do. It's rare to find a business that combines incredible products, great value, and real care for their customers and plants. If supporting small family businesses matters to you, TN Nursery is a great choice! read more

I received dead moldy plants. I was told that, because I did not purchase the "plant protection" insurance my plants would not be replaced. How can a business have such poor practices and stay in business? Seeing the reviews here now, I should never have ordered from them. read more

No communication. I ordered about 8 trees which arrived 2 months late. I noticed 3 apple trees were not in the order so I contacted TN Nursery and was simply told they were sold out and would ship in 2027!! First, if I hadn't reached out, I would still be expecting my trees. Second, if you change a customers shipping, don't you think a good company would reach out? Third, when I requested a refund, they refunded the cost of the trees but not state taxes...illegal. I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT, HIDES INFORMATION FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS. ADDED AFTER RECEIVING COMMENTS FROM BUSINES: 1. If items are sold out, don't you think you should inform the customer? Only reason I found out my order for the apple trees wouldn't arrive is by reaching out to you. 2. I had to ask for a refund. Your policy is awful, don't inform the company and then say the items will ship the following year! 3. If you sell more than you have, in the case Apple trees, you can't even track your inventory. Clearly something is wrong in your business structure. 4. My refund was just the cost of the trees. I had to reach back to you for the state taxes. The taxes should have been refunded initially. 5. I'm sorry you feel a honest review hurts your business but your lack of communication, refund procedures, and customers having to beg for information is true. Supporting small business is key but look in the mirror to see the problem, don't blame me and all the other 1 stars reviews. If I would have read the reviews first, I would have purchased from someplace else. read more

Several weeks ago, I created a significant order. However, the two for one quantities failed to show on the order review. I texted your virtual help AI no-customer service tool and asked that the total 2 for 1 orders show prior to completing the transaction. Your AI told me I would have to recreate the same order that was in the cart. AI said it could not see the cart. I utilized your file upload after taking pictures of the lengthy order. Your AI stated it can not see this file. I ended the AI conversation stating we hope TN. Nursery would review orders not placed and read the comments. A company that truly care for their customers' concerns would supercede AI and call the customer back. You never did. Clearly, your focus is on quantity, not quality sales. Six years ago, I spoke to a real person in regards to sending incorrect plants. He was arrogant and unhelpful. I see nothing has changed. Lastly, I attempted to provide TN. Nursery with this honest review, but interestingly, was unable to submit it. Don't you know this only encourages customers to share publicly? Hmm, something your leadership should consider? I will be sure to update this review once the order is received. read more

I ordered one '10 Deer Resistant Garden Plants' and five Fire Pink Plant. Order was placed on Jul 13th and I received the roots on Jul 18th. They had the roots in zip-lock bags!!!! no instructions what so ever. I have had bare root plants before with success, so I soaked the roots in water for four hours and planted them on the same day. Jul 18th to today, Aug 8th, only two echinacea cone flowers are showing new leaves. So out of 15 plants ordered, only two survived!!!! Total scam. My order total was $40.68 and I got 2 coneflower which costs $10 max in any local nursery. I have written reviews on TN Nursery website, but it never shows in their website, which means they will delete negative reviews. All in all total SCAM!!!!! Avoid them. read more

I have purchased too many plants that have died, and sent the wrong plants, and misled in terms of what I was going to be sent. It seems that one thinks they are buying a certain bundle., and the company sends you something completely different without consulting the customer. For example, I ordered anemone plants thinking it was a bargain. 10 plants for the price of five.. each one is struggling and they have no resemblance to anemone but look more like ferns. I provided well drained, soil amendments, and the recommended amount of water and they are just lying there producing nothing. Only three out of the 10 are just barely hanging in there. Yesterday, I received what was promised to be a butterfly garden with a variety of different plants. What I received was 10 trumpet vines which was not on the list of plants I was to receive. Trump vines are extremely invasive and choke out every other plant that you've planted because of the way their root system grows. Trumpet vines reach height of 30 feet and I would never have ordered anything that was that huge especially 10 of them. It is hit or miss with the other 10 plants because the base of the plant seems soggy. Unless you wait until the last minute when there are sales, but it's too late to put them in the garden, the pricing is extremely high. I wanted to trust this company because I heard about it on a YouTube site. I particularly like called the Appalachian storyteller. I will not be using this company ever again. Their claim to fame is servicing the Washington Gardens, and pictures display gorgeous gardens.. what one doesn't consider is the amount of maintenance people. It takes to maintain such a garden.. every plant I have received from them the subject to such extreme fungus. I've never seen before I would never buy from them again.. read more

AWFUL. Do NOT deal with this operation. Only filled half an order from Aug. 3, refuse to refund and still have not filled the order. Second time, (before I realized how bad they are), they sent rotten, stinking roots. Refuse to refund, no replacement sent. They acknowledge all the problems, but the only thing they can do is take money. I reported the rotting roots within 24 hours, but still nothing. Never had such problems with other online plant suppliers. How do they stay on the Internet? read more

Since this review I did get an email with a credit and they honored the credit. I was sent trees 2 redbuds and 2 aspens. The 2 aspens never grew. The 2 redbuds have flourished and are very healthy. Thank you for eventually acknowledging the mistake that at first was ignored until I followed up four times in total about your refund policy that was in place when I bought the bare root plants. I ordered two Fuyu Persimmon trees that were supposed to be shipped in 1 gal. containers (suggesting they were well rooted and grown in the containers). The good news is that the shipment arrived quickly. The bad news is that when I went to transplant the trees, it was obvious that these were bare root specimens that had absolutely no root ball on them and virtually no roots. The soil just fell away leaving the stems bare and exposed. TN Nursery claims that their plants are placed into the containers in the fall and winter and grown with an intent to ship the following year, implying, of course, that the plants were fully rooted out in the container. These might have been acceptable if the in-soil portion of the plants was prepared for bare root shipment (wrapped in plastic with the appropriate water bearing beads) but these were obviously cut for bare root purposes (roots virtually non existent) and just stuck in moistened soil moments before shipping. TN Nursery steadfastly refuses to consider the overwhelming photographic evidence contradicting their claims and continues to offer wildly implausible and outright inaccurate claims in an effort to avoid correcting their error. TN Nursery continues to tout that it is a family owned business. It was founded by the current CEO's father, Roscoe. But this does not excuse inattention to details and failure to fulfill orders based on their own published standards. Given the plethora of complaints lodged with Yelp, the CEO, Tammy Sons, needs to take a hard look at her business practices and do an immediate course correction. read more

Do not buy anything dormant from these people. They only refund you if you report a dead tree within 24 hours. How are you supposed to figure out if it dead if it's supposed to be dormant? OMG! After reading the many horrible reviews, I decided to cancel an almond tree purchased. The ad featuring the almond tree never said I had to wait until spring 2027 for delivery. I ordered pecan trees March 3, 2026 and they delivered ups. Total $59 for 2. They were planted as specified in the environment specified and we waited 3 months with no leaf action. Did scratch test and sent them pictures - they are dead. They refused to refund because we did not take out an extended warranty. I went online to see where there was a place to get that in the order and there was none. I called back to tell them I did not see any extended warranty mentioned and they said that they had taken that off after March 3 (in May) because too many people were taking advantage. Maybe it is because they were sending out dead trees. They offered me a 10% if I wanted to reorder. It's too late to plant pecan trees. I will NOT use them again. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! They are just looking for opportunities to scam customers. I placed an order with several varieties of plants. A few days later I got a notification that part of my order (3 plants) had shipped with a delivery date on the 10th. I received two plants on the 8th and assumed the third was arriving on the 10th per the shipping notification. When nothing arrived on the 10th, I emailed them to ask about it. This is a fraudulent outfit disguised as a reputable nursery. We ordered 10 "Red Rooster" crape myrtles in November 2024. All trees were delivered in December and planted. Fast forward to July 2025 when the first one finally blooms and .....PURPLE! I emailed their customer service asking what we could do to resolve this. Wasn't looking for my money back. Really, I just want my red trees so I was hoping they'd send a new batch without any friction. To my disbelief....ultimately I was blamed for not typing in "no subs" during checkout. Apparently hidden somewhere on their website it says they reserve the right to send any color they want if they run out of the color you actually ordered! WHAT!?!? Horrible customer service. Lied about the delayed arrival and later claimed they were not not responsible since I didn't request a warranty. Our order arrived VERY late, the plant material seemed like it was very stressed. We spent 4-5 hours planting them, mulched and getting it soaked in on the north side of the house. We noticed that the plants were a wad of mostly 'runners' with no root structure. They sold them as 'bare root' - came with no roots. With some of the smaller pieces, we took inside and tried to get them rooted-in with peat moss and root stimulator. Lightly watered all almost every day for about four weeks - no direct sun. Every effort failed. Everything is now DEAD but one plant. Only got an auto response. read more

Buy from TN Nursery at your Peril!!! These people cannot be trusted. I needed approximately 7 sq ft of moss, however just in case, I ordered 10 sq ft. I received 5 sq ft and they are telling me that I got 10! After I sent them this photo. I was even willing to overlook the fact that I had to put over an inch and a half between each clump, and I just asked them to send me 4 extra square feet to fill in the space that didn't have enough. Instead they just kept saying that I received 10 sq ft. Do not buy from these people. They are just trying to make a buck off you. Find someone else more trustworthy. read more

Terrible bare root plants and trees, and even worse customer service. I cancelled an order in October 2025, received confirmation IN WRITING that they would cancel and refund my order, less a 5% processing charge which I willingly agreed to...to then receive only a partial refund, and a portion of the order still shipped. When I received the notification of shipment, I checked the refund amount and found it was short, so I reached out to their customer service, forwarding the confirmation I had received from their company that they would cancel. Their response was "xyz employee doesn't work here anymore, and your order already shipped. The refund will not be issued." After a few back-and-forth exchanges I decided to write it off, but feel compelled to let others know that their rating on here is NOT indicative of the service, quality of product or integrity as a business. On top of all of that, one of the plants showed up snapped in half, anf their last response to me said I could return the plants, but I would have to cover the shipping and if they were dead on arrival they would not be refunding me. Absolute joke of a company. Horrendous all around, take your money elsewhere, trust me. read more

Bought 4 trees, Crepe Myrtle and Weeping Cherry, in December, they came to me as bareroot, which was understood. I soaked them for 2 hours per their instructions, then planted them. It is now April and none of the trees have started to bud or shown any sign of life. I did the scratch test to see if the cambium layer is still green, all four were brown. I had these trees of 4 months, and they only have a 24-hour guarantee on their trees! Twenty-four hours!?!?! They should tell us to do the scratch test right away then, what does 24 hours tell us about any tree we think is healthy and thriving, from a supposed good company. Buyer beware. Go to Fast Growing Trees where they give you a free year to make sure your trees survives! read more

I ordered cone flowers second week of March and requested April delivery. Got a notice April that the order could not be filled until the drought conditions were over. I notified them that if the order could not be filled by May 1st , I would like to cancel the order. Received no response. Called May 1st and was told they will be able to fill the order and expedite shipment. The plants I received were tiny bare roots with no green growth. Three of the four maybe salvageable the one that was shipped solo was completely rotten. Photo attached. I think the company shouldn't be shipping immature bare root plants. They should have just cancelled my order. read more

I ordered 20 trees in November 2025 and I planted them immediately. I have watered them regularly. Now that it is spring, I am waiting for them to green up, but only two of the 20 trees have greened up. The rest never came out of dormancy. I contacted the company and they said they have a 24-hour policy after receiving a product to report it. I received basically twigs, with faith that they would green up in the spring. How am I supposed to report leafless twigs within 24 hours? It is a bad policy and I am out $284.31. I cannot recommend this company. read more

My experience with this nursery has been extremely poor. I placed an order on October 15th with an initial delivery date of October 23rd. On October 19th, I received an email offering expedited shipping (2-3 days) in exchange for leaving a positive review. This offer implies they had the stock and ability to ship immediately in October. However, the original delivery date of October 23 was missed. When I contacted customer service multiple times, I only received general responses. They then informed me they are now shipping in November but refuse to give any concrete date. I asked to cancel my order due to the likelihood that it was too cold to plant by the time it arrived. Despite their contradictory and shifting timelines, they have repeatedly refused to cancel my order. This company makes misleading offers to pressure customers into writing good reviews, then fails to fulfill the order and locks you into a lengthy, unscheduled delay. Avoid ordering from them if you expect reliability or basic customer service. read more

Funny - I made a negative comment about them on FB and now they have blocked me! I received my four "3 to 4 foot" $155 paw paw "trees." Underwhelmed doesn't begin to describe my disappointment with the twigs I received. Doubtful they will winter despite my efforts to plant them perfectly. We planted an orchard this year, and these were by far the most expensive and least healthy looking trees we purchased. Do yourself a favor and buy local. Ordered two trees (sweet gum & tupelo) from them in January and received them in early April. Out of four trees (one free of each as per their site) only one has shown any sign of life, and that from the bottom of a 2' - 3' sapling. Have tried contacting the company numerous times to no avail. No email and no one answers when you call their number, only a recorded message. Very poor customer service. Guess I'll have to take the loss of $83. Do not order from this place. read more

Terrible Shipping Delays, Dead Plants, and No Customer Support I placed an order on July 14, 2025, for about 10 plants totaling $140. The entire experience has been a massive disappointment, and their customer service is non-existent unless you pay extra for a "protection plan." The Shipping Delays: Part of my order was supposed to ship in October 2025. It didn't. When I reached out, they promised to combine it with my November items. By November 24th, it still hadn't shipped. After calling multiple times, the plants finally arrived on December 11, 2025--months late. The Results: Because of their delays, I was forced to plant them in mid-December. This spring in Washington, the weather has been great, and I've been diligently watering them since April. Despite proper care, only 2 out of the 10 plants survived (an 80% mortality rate). The "Warranty" Response: When I contacted them about the dead plants, they refused to take responsibility for the fact that their late shipping caused the issue. They stated that because I didn't purchase extra "plant protection" at checkout, they only offer a 24-hour warranty. Their solution for my $140 loss was to offer me a 10% discount code to buy more plants from them. Do not buy from TN Nursery. They will delay your shipment, send you plants that won't survive the winter planting they forced upon you, and then hide behind a ridiculous 24-hour warranty policy. read more

I wouldn't order from this site again and I am astounded at how many reviews on this site sound exactly like my experience. I'm dumbfounded at the rude responses from the representative for TN Wholesale Nursery and am anxious to now see what response my review receives. Order Number is 21731. Anyone who uses Yelp knows the site discourages use of last names. I will attach all emails detailing everything if I'm able so there are no concerns about me being a 'verified' buyer. I am not a wholesale purchaser but did purchase more than 25 plants. I have pictures of the shipping box, the (lack of) packing material and the condition of the plants when they arrived. I opened the box, opened the plastic my 'bare roots' were wrapped in, saw the condition of everything and immediately drove back to the post office to return them to the nursery. The plants were in my possession for less than an hour. I have the time stamped USPS receipt with tracking number to show the time they were shipped back. They were mailed back via the same method they were shipped to me, in the same box, with the same paperwork. No packing material was used inside the box. The 25 vinca minor plants I ordered came smashed together in a handful with a rubber band around the spot where the 'leaves' and root meet. Many of them were snapped off and the remainder were clearly not viable plants. The forsythia had been rubber banded together in the same fashion with plastic wrapped around the root balls (no dirt intact) with some of that 'gel' substance in the bottom of the plastic. The root balls had been completely snapped apart. I called and emailed TN Nursery to notify them of the return. I received the standard question about the 'scratch test'. First off, this is not something a standard, trusting consumer would know, or should know, how to perform on plants that come from a reputable nursery. There would also be concerns about performing a scratch test on the 'roots' of a vinca minor plant shipped with a root the width of a piece of paper. Damage could happen and then I would have been liable for the damage. TN Nursery hemmed around for a week regarding my refund. In the interim I realized where this situation was headed and disputed the charges with my CC company. They seemed to be unable to locate my return for a full 5 days until I sent them not only a picture of the return receipt but also the tracking information from USPS clearly showing the return had been received. This morning I received notification from Lisa Anderson (email address tnnurseryhelp@gmail.com) notifying me that I was issued a store credit in the amount of 82.62 to use with the nursery. I responded with a notification that I definitely would not be using any type of store credit and want a full refund returned to the method of payment. The plants were returned in under the 24 hr time frame. EDITED: Sorry I can't figure out how to add the pictures and emails, if someone wants to direct me I will definitely upload. Also, NO, the name on my yelp profile is not correct, that's just a public profile with a generic name but the order number is correct (before the Nursery starts screaming I'm a fraud, which they likely will do anyhow based on the other reviews) read more

I ordered from them because the price was great, was buy one Get one. They sent me 3 pawpaws and two plum trees, though one of the paw paw trees had a broken root system But I only ordered 2, so figured it was worth seeing if it'd do anything. I message to tell them I didn't see anything happening, they had me to the scratch test on the other four, and they agreed one of my pawpaws was dead, even though I was pretty certain both were, along with the plum They gave me a credit, but never sent the plant. Fast forward to this year, I asked them about it and they agreed they failed to send it and said they would. I told them the other two plants that seemed dead still seemed dead, and sent them more pictures. They then preceded to ghost me for a few weeks, and when I called them out on it they then said t hey already gave me credit for one. Which was true... the one they never shipped to replace. And would not address the others, despite their 1 yr warranty. Each time I contact customer service email they seem like they forget we've been talking about the same thing for nearly a year now, and I have to rehash the whole thing over again only to get no where. I should have just paid double and with with Burpee or Stark Bros. Since they are now 3 weeks into ignoring my last pictures of their dead trees, and still haven't sent the replacement they agreed to send (a year ago) I went to the BBB, but turns out they are rated F for this exact reason. At your own risk with this one. May as well assume all sales are final and they won't honor or entertain their own warranties. ************************ They replied to the google review, stating that they gave me a credit and items bought with credit aren't covered by review. Obviously they haven't been paying attention. Not only am I not referring to items "replaced" they never even "replaced" the one they agreed to. This was their answer on google - "Response from the owner 37 minutes ago I apologize your experience was anything less than great. Looking at your email tread you were issued an in-store credit and purchased another tree. The tree you purchased with the in-store credit does not come with a warranty as stated on our website. Thank you. " They aren't even paying attention. So to further summarize. They agreed to a replacement of 1 of 3 dead trees after about 6 weeks on nothing from them. They never sent that one. I reminded them in January, they confirmed they never sent and they would. They reported March or April. I sent them new pictures, indicating the other 2 dead trees were still very much dead, while the 1:4 of them was filling out already. It's a year warranty, they've had a year to do ANYTHING. They are now claiming they gave me a replacement (via credit) despite never shipping one, and still haven't addressed the other ones. This place has no interest in honoring their own policies, and is counting on you to just pound sand. read more

Look up "fraud" in the dictionary and you'll likely find this company. From mixed up orders to shipping deadlines that puts the trees arriving dormant yet unplantable (because the ground is frozen), TN Nursery is the epitome of poor customer service with an even poorer reputation. One look on Reddit and you'll see this crew is problematic. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY -- if anything goes even slightly awry, you're on your own. We ordered nearly $500 of trees in the spring of 2025 with some arriving then, and others supposed to arrive in "early fall 2025", per our order -- safe to assume we'd be getting them by October (at the latest). We get an order notification that "all your trees are shipping" a few weeks later (in the spring). We contact Customer Service and let them know some should be arriving in September -- "oh right, our bad, we'll just send the few this spring that you ordered for the spring". Great. Some trees arrive, planted, all good. We contact their CS alias again in September to inquire about the fall shipment and now that date is "late October" -- fine, we'll cope. Contact them late October and "they'll be shipped out this week". Contact them at the end of "this week" and "they should be on their way any day". Contact them early November and "we'll rush them". Contact them 3 days later to see about the rush and "we're waiting to rush them". By now we've caught on -- they have no intention of honoring their original shipping deadlines...you know, the deadlines we purchased the trees under assuming they would be committed to. By mid-November in New England the snow is falling and the ground is frozen. If we knew an "early fall 2025" shipping timeline was turning into "early winter 2025" we wouldn't have ordered the trees in the first place. Plainly put, they lied to us, their customers. We make a claim for a refund (because they haven't held up their end of the bargain), and SURPRISE, no refunds. These people don't understand their product isn't only the thing they send to you, but the service they provide in the process. Based on my experience this company is a fraud -- they sell something they can't deliver in the time you expect. And then they try and keep your money. They lie and they cheat and they expect customers to roll over and take it. Good luck with that, TN Nursery -- you've made a forever evangelist out of me. One that will spread the bad news of your awful business practices and abhorrent customer service across the digital globe. You can get an "F" for service, and an "F" for the fraudsters you are. read more

PLANTS SMALLER THAN ADVERTISED, HALF NEVER CAME UP, REFUSED A REFUND. I ordered 4 kinds of perennials from Tennessee Nursery Feb. 21, 2024. The size of the plants were all significantly smaller than the photos they show. If you look each of them up on TN Nursery's website, you will see photos of what the nursery says they will ship and what they claim they will look like in the spring. I have uploaded photos of the butterfly weed and tiger lily plants that I received and the small 6" x 6" box they were all shipped in. The butterfly weed (asclepias) and tiger lilies never came up. The purple coneflower did not bloom last year but did bloom this year. The evening primroses bloomed last spring and are thriving. Last September, I requested a refund on the butterfly weed and tiger lilies and here is TN Nursery's reply dated September 23, 2024: "If anything planted below the surface of the soil is planted and temperatures are above 70 degrees, 1-5% may come in that spring or summer, but the majority of those will all come in the following spring. Please wait until your other plants come up and give your new plants a couple of extra weeks before you file a claim." There was nothing on the website by each of these plants that said 95-99% of the plants I ordered would not come up until the following year. Their reply said to wait until 2025 to file a claim and only after my other perennials came up. When I contacted them again in June, after all my other perennials had come up, they said the following: "The warranty on your order ended April 10, 2025." That's it. No other explanation. I went back to see if I could determine where they got the April 10 date from and found that was the date the plants arrived. You can see from the photos and the shipping box that the tiger lilies and butterfly weed were dormant. So why they thought my perennials would be up by April 10, 2025 when even their perennials are still dormant on April 10, I don't know. Why they did not tell me in September to contact them again before April 10, 2025, I don't know. Why they did not send all plants with big, healthy root systems as advertised in their photos, I don't know. The primroses are thriving and the purple coneflowers are blooming this year but the tiger lilies and butterfly weed were a total waste of money. read more

Terrible Customer Service and Fraudulent Warranty I ordered several plants from Tennessee Wholesale Nursery, and it's been a nightmare. None of the plants have shown any signs of life, and despite doing multiple scratch tests that clearly indicate they are dead, the company refuses to honor their warranty. Their customer service is unresponsive and dismissive, claiming the plants are alive based on incorrect scratch test results. I gave them the benefit of the doubt despite numerous bad reviews, but it was a mistake. I've lost a year of growth on these trees and missed the growing season. The company's warranty policy is a sham, and their business practices are fraudulent. They refuse to honor the warranty and attempt to use deceptive practices to void it, insisting that the plants are alive despite clear evidence to the contrary. Additionally, this company has an F rating with the BBB. BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning product issues; specifically, plants do not grow or are dead upon arrival. Consumers allege that the plants are dead when a scratch test is performed on the plants, per the company's direction. When consumers request a refund, replacement, or credit, per the company's posted one-year guarantee, they are told that it does not apply, or they do not receive a response. Consumers also allege they do not receive the correct plants or number of plants as ordered. On March 21, 2023, BBB submitted a written request to the company, encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints. The company has not provided a response to BBB. Moreover, the company is known to pay for good reviews, further misleading potential customers. This practice is unethical and only adds to their fraudulent behavior. I'm filing a BBB complaint and will be reporting this transaction as fraud to my credit card company. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this company at all costs. read more

**PLEASE NOTE THAT MANY POSITIVE REVIEWS SEEM TO BE MADE BEFORE PEOPLE HAVE EVEN REC'D TREES, or potentially AI GENERATED**** I have a small farm, we budgeted a chunk of money to plant an orchard this year. I made quite a large order of fruit trees. Among them were 10 native persimmon trees, Having read reviews I made sure to include in the notes "NO SUBSTITUTIONS". I was sent 10 Tulip poplars instead, and while they are native, they are in no way a fruiting tree. I have a whole stand of Tulip Poplars on my property and would never spend money on trees I have in plenty. Additionally the tulip poplars I received were MOLDY on the roots, not rotten, but moldy. I have emailed TWICE with NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER from TN Nursery regarding this swap or a refund. They do not provide a phone number but I will be attempting to call them, as well as disputing with my bank. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, and No Consideration for what I paid for and my explicit written notes. I also ordered three Native PawPaws, they arrived with ROTTEN ROOTS. I have planted them, but feel uncertain that they will survive. I photographed these and also video'd my unboxing. Many of the trees arrived in reasonable shape, however the paper strips accompanying the trees in the box were no longer damp , they were almost completely dry. The other trees appear alive, and are in suitable size for the most part. Two of the varieties they sent an extra tree. I was hoping to leave a glowing review and to be a returning customer, unfortunately, without remedying the current situation, I cannot do either. As many have said, Buyer beware. Purchase at your own risk. DO not expect follow up. read more

they sent dead sticks on a $200 order- when I called to cancel another order of $654 they said no refunds- but didn't deliver any product, they kept $600! I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a Moorpark Apricot and a Flavor Giant Apricot bareroot trees from TN Nursery, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I placed my order online to the swift delivery at my doorstep, every step of the process was seamless. The trees arrived just 4 days after placing my order, which was incredibly fast and appreciated. Upon arrival, the trees were in great condition. It's clear that TN Nursery takes great care in ensuring their plants are healthy and ready for planting. The quality of the trees exceeded my expectations, and they looked very healthy, showing signs of excellent care and handling. I've already planted them in my garden, following all the recommended guidelines, and I'm eagerly looking forward to the coming years when I'll be able to enjoy delicious apricots right from my backyard. It's a waiting game with fruit trees, but with the quality of these trees, I'm confident that the wait will be well worth it. I highly recommend TN Nursery to anyone looking to purchase high-quality plants online. Their service is top-notch, their delivery is prompt, and their plants are in excellent condition. Hopefully you are reading this before you ordered and find out to STOP and find another reputable company to order from because this place is a scamming joke of a business. Warranty is clearly stated on their website and won't honor anything just give you the run around. Trees didn't ship on time (broke their stated guarantee), didn't notify of shipment (broke their stated guarantee), shipped out of season per their website shipping dates (didn't follow their own policy), "lost" 1/3 of my order and was told I had to wait 14 days because most likely it just hadn't came yet but they had no tracking on it, ALL trees died and I got told well those trees only had an arrive alive guarantee. LOL arrive alive guarantee on "dormant" plants is almost comical. Lastly the customer service is all handled through email and all hours of the night, can't talk to anyone as they just tell you have to email the company. I wish I lived closer so I could hand deliver the dead plants and actually speak to someone in person but I'm sure they wouldn't be available. If you have money to burn, go to a casino as you have a better chance of winning there then with this company. Worst customer experience ever!!! read more

Tammy sent me an email this am and asked me to leave an honest review for her company. She didn't sugar coat nor offer me anything in exchange. I told her I'd gladly help her out on here. It's shameful that she ships to over 40,000 customers and a handful, not even 1% tries to sabatoge a reputation that's a good one and earned. My dad and I bought from her dad years ago. She took the business and has excelled with it. She makes us the best deals in the industry and I urge you to go talk with her! You won't find a more honest personal not to mention great deals and I guarantee it. Also i done some math, Tennessee Wholesale Nursery's feedback based on the amount of customer's they ship to is HIGHER than the Washington Monument, Empire State Building or The White House WOW! Instead of a few cons and maybe some unethical competition posting and she hadn't even shipped to them, you might want to read her replies. If they were cons and rip off's she wouldn't take credit for any of these reviews. I am totally in awe she found yelp last night and asked customer's to post good and honest reviews! Here is mine and I guarantee you I am the real deal! read more

I ordered 25 Spice Bushes...what I got was a bundle of cuttings (not from a Spice Bush...the leaves smell wrong...Spice Bushes have a fragrant mellow spicy smell when crushed, these don't smell like anything). So, order 25 PLANTS and get 25 twigs hacked off a plant (not even a clean cut)...I did my best with the cuttings to quickly put them in soil and attempt to grow something (god knows what type of plant they are actually from; (opefully not something noxious) where almost all of them proceeded to turn brown and die (the ones that aren''t dead yet are clearly 'on the way out'). So I paid $50 bucks for a 'bouquet' of dead twigs and they won't refund my money. I told them that they should be ASHAMED to put Tennessee on their name...they are FRAUDULENT SCAM ARTISTS...not a nursery. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM...when I complained they just referred me to 'their warranty'...which said NOTHING about my complaint. If you want to spend $50 bucks on something do yourself a favor and do something really nice for yourself, DON'T SPEND ANY MONEY HERE...IF I could give them less than 1 star, I would but I can't and still write this review. read more

customer service gets zero stars .... in may i ordered a B1G1 elderberry plant....it is now almost July and i have not received my order...i emailed the company asking when my order would be filled...they responded by telling me that my order would not be filled until November... i asked for them to please ship it now (June) and they told me that the plants are not in season and would be shipped in November...in november the ground is frozen solid (Maine) so i asked them again to please ship them now.... i was told they had to do it in november so i told them to please cancel my order and refund my money, which they promptly took off my credit card in May when i inititally ordered....so then i was told they would cancel my order but there was a 5 % cancellation fee... i dispute the cancellation fee as they not only took my payment in May but if the plants are not even in season yet, WHY IS THERE A CANCELLATION FEE??? the customer service at this company has no business ethics to deal honestly with their customers.. i have purchased from this company before with no problems because i love their B1G1 policy... read more

I placed an order with TN Nursery on March 28. My order included walking ferns, 10 perennials, 10 ground covers, and a snowball bush, items meant to support a meaningful science project for my children. Delivery was initially promised for mid April, but that timeline quickly slipped. I reached out via email and was told on both May 2 and May 13 that my order would ship "any day now." A tracking number was finally issued on May 24, with the shipment arriving at USPS on May 28. As of today, June 10, I still have not received my package. What's more concerning is that if these plants were dug in April, and only shipped nearly a month later, it's unlikely they are still viable, especially given the perishable nature of live plants/roots. That reality not only undermines the project we had planned but also represents a serious lapse in transparency and customer service. This experience has been deeply disheartening and frustrating. I cannot recommend TN Nursery to others, especially not for time sensitive educational purposes. Unfortunately, this ended up being a significant waste of both time and money. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I ordered 28 bare root red cedar trees and 12 loblolly pines 10-3-21. After I finally received all the trees that I ordered, as they had screwed up the order from the beginning, I planted them as instructed. The next spring all were dead. The nursery replaced them the fall of 2022 (10-18) and I planted them again as instructed. These were all dead by Spring, so I contacted the nursery in May and was told to wait longer as they might be late developing this year. Unfortunately after a few more months, the trees still did not show any signs of life. I contacted the nursery in October (2023) and inquired about getting a refund. I was told that they don't offer refunds, but that I would be able to get an instore credit to use towards other trees, but first I needed to do scratch tests on the trees to prove they were dead and take pictures to send to them. I did as instructed, and then was told the trees are beyond warranty. $440 down the drain and no trees. BUYER BEWARE, IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, ALL CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ONLINE ONLY! read more

I was looking to add a few more little things to several tiny terrariums and fairy gardens I started with my teenage son and daughter last year. We were so happy with the selection! The pictures are perfect and clearly labeled. Easy to filter to find exactly the color, size, shade, grow zone... everything. So browsing was fun & easy. I especially like it shows what to expect upon delivery & all of the flowers' details listed there. The customer reviews are very helpful. Checking out could not be simpler. There is even a chat-help icon that helped me with a 'buy one get one FREE!' on everything that was in my cart! My entire order of 6 live flowering plants, shipping and delivered to my home and with taxes included was just over $30.00! I was really extremely impressed and surprised to see that it was so easy and really so perfect. I enjoyed just browsing through the site. And will definitely be posting again to share with you and tell you what I receive. But the experience so far has been EASILY a 5 Star read more

Horrible customer service. I have ordered from online nurseries and had great experiences. Nothing but false advertising from TN Nursery. They will not cancel my order within 24 hours like they advertise. So the trees shipped and once they arrived I opened them to find I received Virginia Pines, not Eastern White Pines. I immediately notified them and they asked did you tell us this within 24 hours? So then I said yes I emailed right when I opened the box. They refused a refund and claim they mislabeled the trees and I should have planted them. Well I didn't because Virginia Pines are terrible for my yard and not what I wanted. I can't trust them as they falsely advertise. Now I have 13 dead trees that were put in dirt when they said they were mislabeled. I have no idea what trees I have. They lost my trust when they would not uphold their cancellation policy and attack my reviews with blaming me for not planting them due to their misleading business processes. read more

So the time has finally arrived. I know this might shock some people, but having to dig through a foot of snow and a half inch of frozen ground to plant a tree did not give good results. Instead of shipping in the 7 to 10 days they said, shipping 2 months later was not conducive to an Ohio transplant season. I had an arborist and two very skilled horticulturists look at these when I got them. They all agreed we were shipped dead sticks. But we put them in the ground with all the required hope. And, of course, dead sticks don't grow into fruit trees. All 6 are worthless. So I go to see the refund policy. And now it seem it is only "good for store credit". Maybe it always was, but that is nuts. If I lived closer I would sue them. I was a lawyer I would forma a class suit. If I was the state attorney general I would prosecute these criminals. They are soo wiling to give you 6 dead sticks for the price of 3 pawpaw trees. What a deal. read more

Wish I had searched for reviews about this company before buying anything from them. Everything stated by others about this company is true. Hidden in their "warranty" page is clause that they can send you anything they want essentially. They claim equal or grater, but what I received was a common grass plant rather than the more expensive plant I ordered. They will only offer store credit, but if you buy anything from them with such credit, you would have to keep in mind the substitution clause. If you read their reviews and their reply across the net, it is painfully obvious that this "business" is just scamming people out of their money. They took one customer to court for a review years ago (and lost) and have threatened people with ruining their credit by filing false unpaid debt claims and using collection agents to hunt them down and harass them. Both of these are violation of the law. read more

This will be my 5th order with TN Nursery. I keep returning for purchase of the many plants they offer that I cannot find easily nor affordably locally. I especially am impressed with the full catalog of plant choices available in one easily accessible shop. The mosses and ferns I have purchased have been very high quality stock, shipped quickly, and shockingly affordable. Not just that, the instructions and description of each plant allow me to successfully recreate a suitable environment for them to flourish. I have not found a nursery that offers the variety of plants I am interested in. I love that I can query those that are successful in my exact growing zone, so have the confidence of knowing that my purchases are not in vain. Thank you TN Nursery for providing everything I expect in a quality online shopping experience! I'll definitely be back to visit very soon! read more
