(Avoid This Seller) Please think twice before purchasing from TN Nursery. You will likely be disappointed. It is incredibly frustrating to see a company operate this way, taking advantage of passionate gardeners. Unfortunately, this is my second time ordering from them, and both experiences resulted in dead plants. First Experience: Upon receiving clearly unhealthy plants, I contacted customer service immediately. I was told the plants were simply "dormant" and instructed to wait two weeks before submitting evidence via a "thumbnail test." I followed their instructions exactly, but my concerns were completely dismissed. Second Experience: Lured back by relentless email and text marketing, I foolishly gave them another chance. The second shipment arrived completely rootless and visibly dead. Remembering their previous instructions to wait, I gave it a week before calling. This time, I was told I should have reported the issue within 24 hours. Their only solution was to offer a 10% discount on another order. No thank you. The Bottom Line: With TN Nursery, the customer is always wrong. If you call immediately, they tell you to wait. If you wait, they tell you it is too late. They are playing games with people who genuinely care about their gardens. I will never buy from them again.

I ordered six trees from TN Nursery in April 2025. Shortly after placing the order, I was informed that two Fuyu persimmon trees were already out of season and could not be shipped until the fall. I immediately requested cancellation of the entire order, but my request was denied. The problems continued with the bare-root pecan and chestnut trees that were shipped. Their survival became a prolonged dispute. I patiently provided multiple pieces of evidence to demonstrate that the trees were dead, but the warranty credit I eventually received was not even sufficient to cover the cost of replacement trees. The two long-awaited Fuyu persimmon trees finally arrived in December 2025, about eight months after I placed the original order. I immediately planted them in pots and cared for them. Neither tree produced any leaves. I communicated with TN Nursery multiple times about their condition. A scratch test in May showed green tissue in both stems, so I continued waiting. Now, in August, one tree is dead. The other stem is still green, but it has yet to produce a single leaf. After more than a year of dealing with this order, warranty claims, replacement issues, and repeated communications, I am running out of patience. Based on my experience, it would have been much easier to buy healthy, living trees from a local nursery or farmers' market, where I could inspect the plants before paying for them. Before placing an order with TN Nursery, I recommend thinking carefully about whether the potential savings are worth the time, uncertainty, and hassle if something goes wrong.

Garbage. I bought 25 bare root purple coneflowers for $59.99. I have attached pictures of the box of dirt I received. It appears to be seedlings in a partial flat of potting soil. The plastic in the pictures is a bag that was cut in half and the flat was shoved in the bag. So basically, I paid $59.99 for a box of loose dirt and some seedlings. The pictures on their website and that they emailed to me representing how my "bare roots" would look are a clear misrepresentation of the product. This is clearly a bait and switch.

Honest Review of TN Nursery In January, I placed an order for 150 pine trees, along with their buy-one-get-one-free deal on pecan and walnut trees. I was really excited about this order, especially since I'm working on planting on my property. When March came around and my order was supposed to arrive, I hadn't heard anything. I reached out by email asking for an update, and instead of responding, they just shipped part of my order. The only reason I even knew was because I have a UPS account and could track it myself. The first shipment (my pine trees) did arrive via UPS with the 2-day shipping I paid for, and that part went smoothly. However, my fruit trees (pecan and walnut) were completely missing. I emailed them again asking where the rest of my order was. Once again, no real response--just a shipment notification. This time, instead of using the UPS 2-day shipping I paid for, they sent my trees through USPS, which is taking about 8 days. That's a huge difference, especially for live plants, and honestly it feels very intentional. To make things worse, I was also shorted 15 pine trees out of the 150 I ordered. I didn't initially report it because I had them sitting in water for a few days while waiting for help to plant, and I didn't notice right away. But since I was already dealing with missing items, I brought it up when I called. I was told it was "too late" to report it and there was nothing they could do. There was no effort to help or make it right. Customer service overall has been very disappointing. Responses either didn't address my concerns or didn't come at all. At one point, they even told me to do a "scratch test" on the trees--which had nothing to do with the issue I was asking about. When I questioned the 8-day shipping, they responded by saying their trees are packed to last 15 days, instead of addressing why I didn't receive the shipping service I paid for. At this point, my remaining trees still haven't arrived, and I honestly don't feel confident about their condition when they do. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I do NOT recommend this company. On the other hand, I've had a great experience with Fast Growing Trees--their customer service and quality have been excellent, and I would recommend them instead.

These guys are scammers, will send you dead sticks with no roots. I got 5 sticks from them and none survived. They sold me the trees with a 1-year guarantee which they no longer offer and ignored my emails when I asked about it. I ordered 3-4 ft trees this year thinking maybe the bigger ones would work better, and they sent me 2 ft trees as a "Substitution" with no partial refund, just here take this cheaper item instead. Avoid these scumbags like the plague.

Do not buy from this company. I purchased two mimosa trees and after months of them showing no growth what so ever I contacted the company and was told there was nothing they could do because I did not purchase the extra guarantee-- on something that should have been guaranteed in the first place. Then after reading a well deserved bad review I posted, one of the owners of TN Nursery wanted me to contact them so they could make this right (in their exact words) and after countess e-mails back and forth claiming they somehow can't place me with my order, not with my name, address, two different e-mails; yet when I first contacted them they had no problem assessing from all that information that i had no recourse because I had not purchased the extended warranty. This whole experience has been disappointing and frustrating.

Bare root, Crepe Myrtle stick planted upon arrival Nov 2025. No sign of life yet May 2026 and told to give it till end June, as "notorious for late dormancy"!! In good faith I did wait thru June but finally gave up and pulled the twig early July. They had charged me $70.21 for a bare root stick and would not stand behind their product. No refund offered since I hadn't purchased their "plant protection". I'm done with TN Nursery!!! Robin R :(

I ordered pecan trees March 3, 2026 and they delivered ups. Total $59 for 2. They were planted as specified in the environment specified and we waited 3 months with no leaf action. Did scratch test and sent them pictures - they are dead. They refused to refund because we did not take out an extended warranty. I went online to see where there was a place to get that in the order and there was none. I called back to tell them I did not see any extended warranty mentioned and they said that they had taken that off after March 3 (in May) because too many people were taking advantage. Maybe it is because they were sending out dead trees. They offered me a 10% if I wanted to reorder. It's too late to plant pecan trees. I will NOT use them again.

This is a fraudulent outfit disguised as a reputable nursery. We ordered 10 "Red Rooster" crape myrtles in November 2024. All trees were delivered in December and planted. Fast forward to July 2025 when the first one finally blooms and .....PURPLE! I emailed their customer service asking what we could do to resolve this. Wasn't looking for my money back. Really, I just want my red trees so I was hoping they'd send a new batch without any friction. To my disbelief....ultimately I was blamed for not typing in "no subs" during checkout. Apparently hidden somewhere on their website it says they reserve the right to send any color they want if they run out of the color you actually ordered! WHAT!?!? I've copied/pasted the entire email correspondence without any changes (except removing my personal info). Read if you must. But don't ever buy from these people. Fraudsters. Terrible order fulfillment and absolutely no customer service. I ordered 25 willow oak saplings. The company sent me 25 white oak saplings (very slow growing) tagged as willow oaks. I contacted them with a photo of the white oaks (they had leaves) and the willow oak tag and asked them to replace the white oaks with the correct tree. I got back a two line email informing me that they have a right to substitute plants "that were hardier". Which is stupid because willow oaks grow in Zones 3-9 and I'm in 7. I emailed multiple times and only got back the same insistence that they could send me any plants they wanted in response to my order. How is it possible to stay in business like this? I got my money back from the credit card company and will NEVER use this company again. Stay far, far away. read more

Completely awful! Received about 2/3 of my order and in zipblock bags. Some looked dead upon arrival, the rest died shortly afterward. Any attempts to get a resolution with these people have been futile with responses like, "I'll forward this to management." I never did get a refund or the rest of my plants. This is several emails and about 4 months later. read more

On august 6th 2023. I placed an order for waxy privet. The same day i canceled the order do to a change in plans. This type of order would not be filled until the end of October 2023. When i called to cancel the order the lady stated that it was no problem, and to expect a full refund including shipping charges, but processing would take up to 12 days. I never received the refund and have since called the 2 numbers on the site everyday. Multibke times a day with no answer. I contacted them via chat from the site and they stated that the refund would be processed within 7 days, but with a 20% restocking few. After that period expired with no fefund i contected them again via chat and they said sorry we will refund withing 3 days. A week has gone by and still no refund! This is a horrible company to do business with. Still trying to get my refund to no avail! Please do not do business with this company read more

For your forewarning and entertainment: I ordered red twig dogwood bushes last fall for spring delivery not knowing I would be selling my house. I then sold my house and wanted to cancel the order so the new owners aren't supremely confused. The following is a true story from my reaching out emails: "Is the order a ship now order?" Me "I forwarded the email from when I ordered it" "What is the order number?" Me "[Transaction ID and Invoice Number]" "What is the name on the order?" Me "[My Name]" "I am not able to find an order with that name. Is it possible you used another name?" Me "No but I can forward the email again of the receipt" On the first forwarded receipt email: "How can I help you?" On the second forwarded receipt email: "What is the issue? This order was from August of last year." Me "I need a refund, never received items and they were supposed to come this spring. I sold the house so there is no need for them anymore." read more

Stay away from this business!!! I made a mistake when I ordered some plants on their website on July 06, 2023 thinking that I will receive my order in a few days as it said when I checked out the plants on their website. It turns out that my order won't be shipped until October, 2023. I asked them to cancel my order on July 21, 2023. On July 31,2023, after a few email back and forth between TNN Nursery and me, they agreed to cancel my order and give me a full refund. However, until now I haven't received a refund back into my account yet. The charge was posted on my credit account on July 7, 2023. I sent them an email on August 8 to ask when I should expect to see the refund back into my account. They said it should take up 7-10 business days. As of today, August 18, 2023, I have not received my refund yet. You do your own judgement to see if you want to order something from this business. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING. I bought 10 "plants." None were alive. I followed all directions. When I told them, they made me do a scratch test and photograph every plant. After weeks of back and forth, all they would do is give me a PARTIAL CREDIT TO REBUY. MORE!!!! Are you kidding. 10 dead plants. No replacement. No refund. They said partial credit is their "warranty." That's not a warranty, it is theft of my money. read more

Dishonest seller! I ordered 4-5 ft tall pine trees and they came in a 4 ft tall box. Since the tree root structure takes up 8 inches in the box there was only 40 inches left for the above ground tree measurement. They also included this year's new growth in their measurement, which is not acceptable in the industry. I sent them pictures; they admitted their deceit, so they refunded me the difference between their 3-4 foot trees and the 4-5 foot trees but refused to take the trees back and ship out the correct ones. If I had wanted 3-4 foot trees I would have ordered those. Would have taken this up with my credit card issuer but, of course, the trees were ordered in May, billed in May, but shipped in October, so the credit card issuer wont get involved since the billing transaction is over 60 days old. These folk are cheaters. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Horrible customer service and even after showing them photo proof of non-living plants, they refuse to refund. Summary: I ordered 3 dormant trees in the '21 fall (two dogwoods and one maple). They arrived in November and I planted them the next day. It is now June 10th and only one of them is showing any signs of life. Two of them are completely dead. Now I have to wait until next fall to plant other trees because if I plant one now, by the time the July heat hits us, that tree will die too. I also ordered 5 hydrangea bushes and 9 butterfly plants. They arrived in March '22. Again, planted next day and watered according to instructions. Every single one of those plants and bushes are dead. Pro Tip: do not buy their dormant items because you will not know until the growing season begins if your investment is still alive. Purchase at your own risk. Spend a few bucks more to buy living, established plants and plant them in the spring or fall when the weather is reasonable. I have done this for 4 other trees, a full garden, and many other bushes. Why I thought this company would add anything to my yard is beyond me. What a mistake. Avoid Tennessee Wholesale Nursery LLC at all costs. read more

They were supposed to ship in April. The Lady on the phone said I had to cancel the order with customer service which I immediately did. They shipped the day after the day I cancelled the order. They said they used the post office to ship. I had to hire someone to check the post office since I was out of town. I discovered they actually used UPS, not the post office. I had to hire the same man to plant the dead plants they sent. The grass was watered every day. 5 out of 140 may survive. They are not the grasses I ordered. I sent pictures. Then I sent more pictures. I've had to continue to water dead plants because of their non-responsiveness. Today they said I get in-store credit. Really? Like I'd order from them again? Like they still have the grass I want available to ship? This place is the pits. read more

This place had the worst customer service of any business I've ever dealt with. Do not expect any results from this company. They have no issues with selling dead products. They have no issues with keeping your money. And they expect you to pay shipping (again) to return the dead stick they originally shipped in the first place...."to replace it". They will hang up on you when you try to contact them or just not answer the phone. If you email them, if they decide to reply, it's a week or two later. Pathetic that this is acceptable practice and that this company is still in business. read more
Looks can be deceiving & the pictures posted on the TWN website are the perfect example. In the middle of July, I had attempted to purchase 10 square feet of sheet moss, although the information provided on the site does not state the moss would actually arrive in a sheet, it does typically grow in large carpet-like mats. Making it an easy & quick ground cover to install. However, that was not the case when I received my order. Although my package did arrive within a week, what I received was useless & @ a total of $54.00 I expected better quality. Naturally, I knew the moss would need a little tlc & didn't mind picking out a few dead leaves & twigs. But the pieces I received were so small ( less than 120 millimeters) that once you removed the seedlings (one of them being poison ivy & 3 of them being pine trees, etc) there was nothing left. The rest was just crumbles!!!! When I tired to pick it up out of the bags it was shoved in, it fell through my fingers like sand. The pics on the website make it appear to be large, beautiful soft green mats- mine were more like moss scraps. I must've been speaking a foreign language when I emailed customer service. That & the employee who responded is blind or in desperate need of glasses because even after providing pictures along with my measurements ( the moss did not even completely cover the 39" x 19 1/2" section of my garden) they responded with " So you are saying you only receive 6 square feet of moss"? I even stated in a previous email that I was more than 4 square feet short of receiving 10 ft. They refused to give me a refund & said I should've read the warranty before ordering even though their site guarantees their products. If you read their warranty, you'll see why it was pointless for sales to even bring it up considering that I did contact them because I was shorted/quality. Anyways, even with a ruler next to the moss in my pics; they still couldn't comprehend that they shorted me. They never apologized, never said what their game plan was to resolve the issue...this went on until September!!!! Of course, without any notification, I received another box of moss from them. However, it arrived the night I left for an out of state ,10 day trip so it sat out in the hot sun with no water/air. Had they sent me a message stating this is what they were going to do, I could've made arrangements for someone to come & take care of it while I was gone. Luckily, it rained hard enough for 2 days that it saturated the box & the quality I received for the second shipments was what I should have gotten on the first. Although if I had to rate the quality using the 5 star method ; it would only get 2 stars. I've found better moss in my woods- perhaps the staff @ TWN simply don't know how to harvest moss correctly??? read more

I bought an order of 100 trees and indicated on the order that i wanted them delivered in the spring when I could plant them. They came in the middle of January. I live in the Rocky Mountains and I'm supposed to plant 100 trees in January???? I don't think so. Phone support was craptacular at best. They simply said, send them back without any effort to find out what happened. I tried to use the contact link to write to someone who hopefully was better than the online support lady. They provide a place to provide your name, email and space to write a message but they seriously don't have a submit button. For quite sometime I have been eager about ordering from TN Nursery. It only took me two years to plan out how I wanted to landscape my front yard! I have 5 acres and a running creek, so its essential that I purchase wholesale, versus retail. I called TN Nursery this morning about their boxwood shrubs. The website didn't have any indication as to what the wholesale price was, just an individual pricing. I called to inquire and received a rude, unclear, and impatient response to my query. The woman didn't make any sense. She stated that I could order it online...hmm...okay, then 'why does it allow me to place the items in my cart?' I never got a clear answer as to the quantity that I could order or if the price reflected a quantity, but the quantity wasn't stated. To make a long story short, I proceeded to clarify and the woman HUNG up on me. Thinking that it was a connection problem, I called back.....3 times no one picked up. There was no professional voice mail indicating that it was TN Nursery that I had dialed. Not to mention when she picked up the phone, she simply belted out, "Nursery." After that ordeal, I decide to google TN Nursery and I'm astonished to find that there are a TON of people that have grievances against TN nursery for received dead, near dead, or soon to be dead plants. I consider what happened to me on the very low end spectrum. I guess having placed a $500 order and being completely disappointed with the lack of quality in the plants would have rendered a much different review. This is the age old story of Buyer BEWARE. And if they treat customers like this before a purchase is made, I'm happy not to hand over any of my hard earned money! read more

Do not order from them. They just swap out your order for other plants (assuming what you ordered is out of stock) without telling you. I ordered $200 of cushion moss and they sent me sheet moss. I emailed and called customer support. They were short and rude in their email response, directing me to find their warranty at the bottom of the page. I had to look through the whole page to guess what they were referring to. They couldn't even bother to type out the reasoning in the email - which is that they reserve the right to replace your plants. What kind of business practice is this? How could you not inform your customers first that the item is out of stock? And then ask them if the replacement is acceptable. It's like ordering a blue shirt and they sent you a red one instead without telling you and refusing to rectify it. read more

Hello, thank you for alerting regarding your concerns and we…
Definitely would not buy anything from here again and wish I could give zero stars. I bought 10 trees, that was my first issue I guess, 10 trees makes me a "wholesaler". And it isn't like the 10 trees are cheap, no they are over $23 each. The trees arrive and they are the smallest things I have ever seen. They are all packed in a tiny box and I think I got 1 tree. I even wrote them and said I thought they didn't ship me all of the trees. I opened the box the next day and realize, no they are all there but Charlie Brown's Christmas tree looked hardy and robust compared to these things. The paper that comes with the trees proclaims they are not dead! They are brown but only dormant. I trust this and plant them and water them and wait and wait and wait. Finally I determine they are indeed dead because everything else around them is now green. When I contact the company I am ignored until I write them again a week later. They just send me a link and said to read the "guarantee". I read it and the first thing I see is that if I order 10 or more trees I had 24 hours to make my complaint or they can do nothing. Meanwhile the paper that was sent with the tree does not mention this. And another meanwhile, you order the trees and they just send them whenever. So if you aren't home for some reason too bad so sad. It's a horrible way to do business. If I still lived in Tennessee I would dig up my ten tiny dead trees and drive by the business and chuck them out the window in protest. Maybe even light them on fire and spread them across their driveway. That's if they even have one and aren't a fly by night company like they seem to be. read more

I asked for a refund and was told "too bad", and that i should have explored their website before ordering because they only ship bare root - although, no where on the page of the plant that I ordered does it say that, nor does my invoice. I wish I could give zero stars. We ordered 10 twelve inch squares of moss in April. The ordering and delivery time went well. However we only got half the amount we ordered and instead of 12 inch squares we got several small pieces, and two different kinds of moss, not the one we ordered. . I called them and emailed them within 20 hours of receiving the order. They emailed back they would send more moss. That was on April 17. 6 weeks and several emails later we still have not received our moss. Please read review online about this company. It is a complete ripoff. They have even stopped one review site due to all the negative reviews. We wasted our money but we learned a lesson. We will read reviews about a company before we order from them. I placed an order and received email notification that my plants shipped. For several weeks no package arrived. Using a tracking number, the package showed it was held up in the USPS for weeks. I checked reviews on line and based on the comments and company responses, I figured I was heading for a battle. Although difficult (impossible) to talk to a live body, I left a phone message explaining the situation and if indeed my plants have been sitting in a USPS site for over three weeks, they were surely dead and they may as well make a new shipment. I received an email assuring me that my order would ship. Within a few days of receiving the email, my new order of plants arrived. All of the plants are in good condition and I fully expect to be successful planting them. No doubt, judging by the complaints the company has some serious issues and their approach to customer service (the company responses to complaints are a good indication) needs to be addressed. But they did do-right for me by correcting a bad situation. They could have blamed everything on the USPS and left me to file a claim. They didn't. They did the right thing. That's all I can say. Rating simply based on my own experience, 3-1/2 stars. However, considerations has to be given for all those with legitimate complaints. Order #20270 UPDATE following Tammy S. reply of April 18. Are you serious? You have all 1 star reviews and I go out of my way to give you 3 star review and that is your response? You may only have 1% complaint but your poor responses magnify it to a much greater level. Sorry I took the time to provide a 3 star review. If you read my message, I said I DID contact customer service and they took care of me. I was completely satisfied - that is, until I read your reply. You would do yourself and your company a favor by NOT replying to comments. Delegate that responsibility to someone else that has a clue about customer service. As appropriate for your business, you just dig any hole that may exist a little deeper. And when a hole doesn't even exist (in this case), you dig one anyways. And yes, you're welcome for my time posting a favorable review (that you totally obliterated.) read more

I overlooked lots of weird things on their website. I ordered native sedges and received a trash bag of monkey grass. I politely called and emailed to discuss...was asked to send pictures. I did and asked for a refund since I wasn't interested in replacements from them. This is the response I got: On our warranty it clearly states "we reserve the right to substitute". I am sorry. Thank you If they were substituting, then why did they label the bag of monkey grass as "cherokee sedge?" Looking beyond all of the unfortunate experiences many of us have had, the bigger issue to me is that people are probably planting undesirable plants unknowingly while they're trying to do good for our environment. Not cool, TN Wholesale Nursery. read more

Have you ever seen the movie "Matilda"? You know, the one where the Dad is a used car salesman that rolls back the mileage with a drill, glues on the bumpers instead of welding them and puts saw dust in the transmission all to make the car appear like a good buy. TN Nursery's business model reminds me a lot of that movie. They make their business appear legit by having a nice looking website. But when your shipment comes, it's a lemon. Here's what happened in my case. I ordered one tree. It was shipped wrapped in some burlap (no box) with a shipping label taped on. The tree had no roots. The root ball had been broken off before shipment and it was shipped as a stick. There were no roots at all in the package. So for my money, I received a dead stick. I called and was instructed to email them pictures which I did. They answered that email saying that per their warranty policy I needed to send the product back to get credit for it. Pictures aren't sufficient. So their business model is to mail out very poorly packaged garbage (it's garbage so why package it nicely) knowing that the customer likely will not spend $10 to $20 of their own money to ship back that garbage in hopes that he gets a replacement (worth less than he paid for in shipping) that is not garbage. "Don't people need good trees. Can't you sell good trees, Dad?" Why anyone would want to base a business where they have zero chance of a return customer is beyond me. I guess they think there is an endless supply of people that they can fool once with their website. Then when they've burned all those bridges, start the business under a new name. read more

One star is too good for this business. From a great looking web site and beautiful pictures, I ordered 2 white crepe myrtles and one red one. They notified me that it would be about 2 weeks before shipping. They were shipped in about that time. There were no tags to identify the colors. What I received were 3 bare root sprigs with no leaves, flowers, or any way to identify. I assume the sprigs are alive. I sent several e-mails and sent pictures twice. Evidently there is a third party involved. They promised to have someone identify them from the pictures. That was 5 days ago. A call today said they would look into it. read more

I ordered 3 different color (pink, blue and white) of phlox and grape. The box was totally damaged. The USPS said that the box was damaged due to improper packing. I took a picture and sent it to Tennessee Wholesale Nursery. The grape's leaves were totally dried with no roots. The phlox was all in a ziplock bag, so couldn't tell which were pink, blue or white. And they were all dried. I planted them right away, but they are not coming back. I explained everything to them, but all they said was they were dug fresh and claim to USPS. Sure wish I would have read this before I ordered from this poor excuse for a business.I have ordered many plants though the mail and the plants are packaged properly to allow air, My order came in a ziplock bag, so the plants were dead. I contacted them, They said they were dug fresh, plant them and they will be beautiful.HA!! It is still growing season here and they have been planted for over 2 mths now and they are still dead. Received dead and rotting plants. Literally. Customer service was terrible. Then made me pay $20 more to ship backthe rotting plants. And then offered a store credit for a part of the amount....for what - to get more rotting dead plants? Whoever sent it the plants obviously must have known that they were sending garbage but still did so, leading me to believe it is an intentional scam. Should have checked Yelp first. Update from Feb 18: 8 months after this review was posted, someone from the business has finally responded to it (and various other reports of the business being a scam). Instead of being concerned about the terrible service or offering an apology, they have basically called all their customers liars. And to reply to their question, the reason I did not ship it back was that you wanted to charge me $20 to ship back the rotten dead plants and then would only give me partial store credit. Andy by that time I had seen other reviews of your business and realized that it is a scam. read more

I wouldn't order from this site again and I am astounded at how many reviews on this site sound exactly like my experience. I'm dumbfounded at the rude responses from the representative for TN Wholesale Nursery and am anxious to now see what response my review receives. Order Number is 21731. Anyone who uses Yelp knows the site discourages use of last names. I will attach all emails detailing everything if I'm able so there are no concerns about me being a 'verified' buyer. I am not a wholesale purchaser but did purchase more than 25 plants. I have pictures of the shipping box, the (lack of) packing material and the condition of the plants when they arrived. I opened the box, opened the plastic my 'bare roots' were wrapped in, saw the condition of everything and immediately drove back to the post office to return them to the nursery. The plants were in my possession for less than an hour. I have the time stamped USPS receipt with tracking number to show the time they were shipped back. They were mailed back via the same method they were shipped to me, in the same box, with the same paperwork. No packing material was used inside the box. The 25 vinca minor plants I ordered came smashed together in a handful with a rubber band around the spot where the 'leaves' and root meet. Many of them were snapped off and the remainder were clearly not viable plants. The forsythia had been rubber banded together in the same fashion with plastic wrapped around the root balls (no dirt intact) with some of that 'gel' substance in the bottom of the plastic. The root balls had been completely snapped apart. I called and emailed TN Nursery to notify them of the return. I received the standard question about the 'scratch test'. First off, this is not something a standard, trusting consumer would know, or should know, how to perform on plants that come from a reputable nursery. There would also be concerns about performing a scratch test on the 'roots' of a vinca minor plant shipped with a root the width of a piece of paper. Damage could happen and then I would have been liable for the damage. TN Nursery hemmed around for a week regarding my refund. In the interim I realized where this situation was headed and disputed the charges with my CC company. They seemed to be unable to locate my return for a full 5 days until I sent them not only a picture of the return receipt but also the tracking information from USPS clearly showing the return had been received. This morning I received notification from Lisa Anderson (email address tnnurseryhelp@gmail.com) notifying me that I was issued a store credit in the amount of 82.62 to use with the nursery. I responded with a notification that I definitely would not be using any type of store credit and want a full refund returned to the method of payment. The plants were returned in under the 24 hr time frame. EDITED: Sorry I can't figure out how to add the pictures and emails, if someone wants to direct me I will definitely upload. Also, NO, the name on my yelp profile is not correct, that's just a public profile with a generic name but the order number is correct (before the Nursery starts screaming I'm a fraud, which they likely will do anyhow based on the other reviews) read more

I ordered from them because the price was great, was buy one Get one. They sent me 3 pawpaws and two plum trees, though one of the paw paw trees had a broken root system But I only ordered 2, so figured it was worth seeing if it'd do anything. I message to tell them I didn't see anything happening, they had me to the scratch test on the other four, and they agreed one of my pawpaws was dead, even though I was pretty certain both were, along with the plum They gave me a credit, but never sent the plant. Fast forward to this year, I asked them about it and they agreed they failed to send it and said they would. I told them the other two plants that seemed dead still seemed dead, and sent them more pictures. They then preceded to ghost me for a few weeks, and when I called them out on it they then said t hey already gave me credit for one. Which was true... the one they never shipped to replace. And would not address the others, despite their 1 yr warranty. Each time I contact customer service email they seem like they forget we've been talking about the same thing for nearly a year now, and I have to rehash the whole thing over again only to get no where. I should have just paid double and with with Burpee or Stark Bros. Since they are now 3 weeks into ignoring my last pictures of their dead trees, and still haven't sent the replacement they agreed to send (a year ago) I went to the BBB, but turns out they are rated F for this exact reason. At your own risk with this one. May as well assume all sales are final and they won't honor or entertain their own warranties. ************************ They replied to the google review, stating that they gave me a credit and items bought with credit aren't covered by review. Obviously they haven't been paying attention. Not only am I not referring to items "replaced" they never even "replaced" the one they agreed to. This was their answer on google - "Response from the owner 37 minutes ago I apologize your experience was anything less than great. Looking at your email tread you were issued an in-store credit and purchased another tree. The tree you purchased with the in-store credit does not come with a warranty as stated on our website. Thank you. " They aren't even paying attention. So to further summarize. They agreed to a replacement of 1 of 3 dead trees after about 6 weeks on nothing from them. They never sent that one. I reminded them in January, they confirmed they never sent and they would. They reported March or April. I sent them new pictures, indicating the other 2 dead trees were still very much dead, while the 1:4 of them was filling out already. It's a year warranty, they've had a year to do ANYTHING. They are now claiming they gave me a replacement (via credit) despite never shipping one, and still haven't addressed the other ones. This place has no interest in honoring their own policies, and is counting on you to just pound sand. read more

Look up "fraud" in the dictionary and you'll likely find this company. From mixed up orders to shipping deadlines that puts the trees arriving dormant yet unplantable (because the ground is frozen), TN Nursery is the epitome of poor customer service with an even poorer reputation. One look on Reddit and you'll see this crew is problematic. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY -- if anything goes even slightly awry, you're on your own. We ordered nearly $500 of trees in the spring of 2025 with some arriving then, and others supposed to arrive in "early fall 2025", per our order -- safe to assume we'd be getting them by October (at the latest). We get an order notification that "all your trees are shipping" a few weeks later (in the spring). We contact Customer Service and let them know some should be arriving in September -- "oh right, our bad, we'll just send the few this spring that you ordered for the spring". Great. Some trees arrive, planted, all good. We contact their CS alias again in September to inquire about the fall shipment and now that date is "late October" -- fine, we'll cope. Contact them late October and "they'll be shipped out this week". Contact them at the end of "this week" and "they should be on their way any day". Contact them early November and "we'll rush them". Contact them 3 days later to see about the rush and "we're waiting to rush them". By now we've caught on -- they have no intention of honoring their original shipping deadlines...you know, the deadlines we purchased the trees under assuming they would be committed to. By mid-November in New England the snow is falling and the ground is frozen. If we knew an "early fall 2025" shipping timeline was turning into "early winter 2025" we wouldn't have ordered the trees in the first place. Plainly put, they lied to us, their customers. We make a claim for a refund (because they haven't held up their end of the bargain), and SURPRISE, no refunds. These people don't understand their product isn't only the thing they send to you, but the service they provide in the process. Based on my experience this company is a fraud -- they sell something they can't deliver in the time you expect. And then they try and keep your money. They lie and they cheat and they expect customers to roll over and take it. Good luck with that, TN Nursery -- you've made a forever evangelist out of me. One that will spread the bad news of your awful business practices and abhorrent customer service across the digital globe. You can get an "F" for service, and an "F" for the fraudsters you are. read more

PLANTS SMALLER THAN ADVERTISED, HALF NEVER CAME UP, REFUSED A REFUND. I ordered 4 kinds of perennials from Tennessee Nursery Feb. 21, 2024. The size of the plants were all significantly smaller than the photos they show. If you look each of them up on TN Nursery's website, you will see photos of what the nursery says they will ship and what they claim they will look like in the spring. I have uploaded photos of the butterfly weed and tiger lily plants that I received and the small 6" x 6" box they were all shipped in. The butterfly weed (asclepias) and tiger lilies never came up. The purple coneflower did not bloom last year but did bloom this year. The evening primroses bloomed last spring and are thriving. Last September, I requested a refund on the butterfly weed and tiger lilies and here is TN Nursery's reply dated September 23, 2024: "If anything planted below the surface of the soil is planted and temperatures are above 70 degrees, 1-5% may come in that spring or summer, but the majority of those will all come in the following spring. Please wait until your other plants come up and give your new plants a couple of extra weeks before you file a claim." There was nothing on the website by each of these plants that said 95-99% of the plants I ordered would not come up until the following year. Their reply said to wait until 2025 to file a claim and only after my other perennials came up. When I contacted them again in June, after all my other perennials had come up, they said the following: "The warranty on your order ended April 10, 2025." That's it. No other explanation. I went back to see if I could determine where they got the April 10 date from and found that was the date the plants arrived. You can see from the photos and the shipping box that the tiger lilies and butterfly weed were dormant. So why they thought my perennials would be up by April 10, 2025 when even their perennials are still dormant on April 10, I don't know. Why they did not tell me in September to contact them again before April 10, 2025, I don't know. Why they did not send all plants with big, healthy root systems as advertised in their photos, I don't know. The primroses are thriving and the purple coneflowers are blooming this year but the tiger lilies and butterfly weed were a total waste of money. read more

Would not recommend purchasing from this company. In my first order they said each of my products would be delivered in separate deliveries - one in the spring and the other in the fall. We prepared the ground for the spring delivery. Both orders came in the spring causing me to rush getting the ground prepared for the "fall" order. I was excited to have the fall order early. It took about 6-8 weeks for the trees to "wake up", just like they said. At this time, I would have given them 5 stars but then the 2nd order happened. In the second order, I ordered 25 plants each of 2 different plants. Again I was told one would deliver in the spring and the other in the fall. We prepared the ground for the spring plants and knew I had time for the fall soil and put that on the back burner while tending to the garden. Well, the fall plants were delivered in May. So we dropped everything to work on the soil and irrigation to get these in the ground quickly. I waited for these 25 to "wake up". In the meantime, I contacted the company regarding the "spring" plants I didn't receive and they told me the order was a priority and would get them out when they could. At the end of July, there was still no communication from the company, so I cancelled the rest of the order. At that time, I figured I would reorder next spring. Now, it's August and the 25 "fall" trees never woke up, so I emailed the company and I received a simple one line answer, "If they are brown they are dead". Nothing else. So another email to ask if they were going to refund or replace. Again a single response basically said neither since I didn't buy their warranty. The 25 trees that were sent arrived brown and in my opinion were dead when they sent them. Not one single tree survived. I emailed the owner of the company directly asking her if this is normal. Still no answer. This kind of customer service gives the small businesses a bad name and why they lose customers to the big box stores. read more

Terrible Customer Service and Fraudulent Warranty I ordered several plants from Tennessee Wholesale Nursery, and it's been a nightmare. None of the plants have shown any signs of life, and despite doing multiple scratch tests that clearly indicate they are dead, the company refuses to honor their warranty. Their customer service is unresponsive and dismissive, claiming the plants are alive based on incorrect scratch test results. I gave them the benefit of the doubt despite numerous bad reviews, but it was a mistake. I've lost a year of growth on these trees and missed the growing season. The company's warranty policy is a sham, and their business practices are fraudulent. They refuse to honor the warranty and attempt to use deceptive practices to void it, insisting that the plants are alive despite clear evidence to the contrary. Additionally, this company has an F rating with the BBB. BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning product issues; specifically, plants do not grow or are dead upon arrival. Consumers allege that the plants are dead when a scratch test is performed on the plants, per the company's direction. When consumers request a refund, replacement, or credit, per the company's posted one-year guarantee, they are told that it does not apply, or they do not receive a response. Consumers also allege they do not receive the correct plants or number of plants as ordered. On March 21, 2023, BBB submitted a written request to the company, encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints. The company has not provided a response to BBB. Moreover, the company is known to pay for good reviews, further misleading potential customers. This practice is unethical and only adds to their fraudulent behavior. I'm filing a BBB complaint and will be reporting this transaction as fraud to my credit card company. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this company at all costs. read more

**PLEASE NOTE THAT MANY POSITIVE REVIEWS SEEM TO BE MADE BEFORE PEOPLE HAVE EVEN REC'D TREES, or potentially AI GENERATED**** I have a small farm, we budgeted a chunk of money to plant an orchard this year. I made quite a large order of fruit trees. Among them were 10 native persimmon trees, Having read reviews I made sure to include in the notes "NO SUBSTITUTIONS". I was sent 10 Tulip poplars instead, and while they are native, they are in no way a fruiting tree. I have a whole stand of Tulip Poplars on my property and would never spend money on trees I have in plenty. Additionally the tulip poplars I received were MOLDY on the roots, not rotten, but moldy. I have emailed TWICE with NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER from TN Nursery regarding this swap or a refund. They do not provide a phone number but I will be attempting to call them, as well as disputing with my bank. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, and No Consideration for what I paid for and my explicit written notes. I also ordered three Native PawPaws, they arrived with ROTTEN ROOTS. I have planted them, but feel uncertain that they will survive. I photographed these and also video'd my unboxing. Many of the trees arrived in reasonable shape, however the paper strips accompanying the trees in the box were no longer damp , they were almost completely dry. The other trees appear alive, and are in suitable size for the most part. Two of the varieties they sent an extra tree. I was hoping to leave a glowing review and to be a returning customer, unfortunately, without remedying the current situation, I cannot do either. As many have said, Buyer beware. Purchase at your own risk. DO not expect follow up. read more

they sent dead sticks on a $200 order- when I called to cancel another order of $654 they said no refunds- but didn't deliver any product, they kept $600! I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a Moorpark Apricot and a Flavor Giant Apricot bareroot trees from TN Nursery, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I placed my order online to the swift delivery at my doorstep, every step of the process was seamless. The trees arrived just 4 days after placing my order, which was incredibly fast and appreciated. Upon arrival, the trees were in great condition. It's clear that TN Nursery takes great care in ensuring their plants are healthy and ready for planting. The quality of the trees exceeded my expectations, and they looked very healthy, showing signs of excellent care and handling. I've already planted them in my garden, following all the recommended guidelines, and I'm eagerly looking forward to the coming years when I'll be able to enjoy delicious apricots right from my backyard. It's a waiting game with fruit trees, but with the quality of these trees, I'm confident that the wait will be well worth it. I highly recommend TN Nursery to anyone looking to purchase high-quality plants online. Their service is top-notch, their delivery is prompt, and their plants are in excellent condition. Thank you, TN Nursery, for making this experience so enjoyable. I'm looking forward to enjoying my apricot trees for many years to come! read more

Hopefully you are reading this before you ordered and find out to STOP and find another reputable company to order from because this place is a scamming joke of a business. Warranty is clearly stated on their website and won't honor anything just give you the run around. Trees didn't ship on time (broke their stated guarantee), didn't notify of shipment (broke their stated guarantee), shipped out of season per their website shipping dates (didn't follow their own policy), "lost" 1/3 of my order and was told I had to wait 14 days because most likely it just hadn't came yet but they had no tracking on it, ALL trees died and I got told well those trees only had an arrive alive guarantee. LOL arrive alive guarantee on "dormant" plants is almost comical. Lastly the customer service is all handled through email and all hours of the night, can't talk to anyone as they just tell you have to email the company. I wish I lived closer so I could hand deliver the dead plants and actually speak to someone in person but I'm sure they wouldn't be available. If you have money to burn, go to a casino as you have a better chance of winning there then with this company. Worst customer experience ever!!! read more

Tammy sent me an email this am and asked me to leave an honest review for her company. She didn't sugar coat nor offer me anything in exchange. I told her I'd gladly help her out on here. It's shameful that she ships to over 40,000 customers and a handful, not even 1% tries to sabatoge a reputation that's a good one and earned. My dad and I bought from her dad years ago. She took the business and has excelled with it. She makes us the best deals in the industry and I urge you to go talk with her! You won't find a more honest personal not to mention great deals and I guarantee it. Also i done some math, Tennessee Wholesale Nursery's feedback based on the amount of customer's they ship to is HIGHER than the Washington Monument, Empire State Building or The White House WOW! Instead of a few cons and maybe some unethical competition posting and she hadn't even shipped to them, you might want to read her replies. If they were cons and rip off's she wouldn't take credit for any of these reviews. I am totally in awe she found yelp last night and asked customer's to post good and honest reviews! Here is mine and I guarantee you I am the real deal! read more

I ordered 25 Spice Bushes...what I got was a bundle of cuttings (not from a Spice Bush...the leaves smell wrong...Spice Bushes have a fragrant mellow spicy smell when crushed, these don't smell like anything). So, order 25 PLANTS and get 25 twigs hacked off a plant (not even a clean cut)...I did my best with the cuttings to quickly put them in soil and attempt to grow something (god knows what type of plant they are actually from; (opefully not something noxious) where almost all of them proceeded to turn brown and die (the ones that aren''t dead yet are clearly 'on the way out'). So I paid $50 bucks for a 'bouquet' of dead twigs and they won't refund my money. I told them that they should be ASHAMED to put Tennessee on their name...they are FRAUDULENT SCAM ARTISTS...not a nursery. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM...when I complained they just referred me to 'their warranty'...which said NOTHING about my complaint. If you want to spend $50 bucks on something do yourself a favor and do something really nice for yourself, DON'T SPEND ANY MONEY HERE...IF I could give them less than 1 star, I would but I can't and still write this review. read more

customer service gets zero stars .... in may i ordered a B1G1 elderberry plant....it is now almost July and i have not received my order...i emailed the company asking when my order would be filled...they responded by telling me that my order would not be filled until November... i asked for them to please ship it now (June) and they told me that the plants are not in season and would be shipped in November...in november the ground is frozen solid (Maine) so i asked them again to please ship them now.... i was told they had to do it in november so i told them to please cancel my order and refund my money, which they promptly took off my credit card in May when i inititally ordered....so then i was told they would cancel my order but there was a 5 % cancellation fee... i dispute the cancellation fee as they not only took my payment in May but if the plants are not even in season yet, WHY IS THERE A CANCELLATION FEE??? the customer service at this company has no business ethics to deal honestly with their customers.. i have purchased from this company before with no problems because i love their B1G1 policy... read more

I placed an order with TN Nursery on March 28. My order included walking ferns, 10 perennials, 10 ground covers, and a snowball bush, items meant to support a meaningful science project for my children. Delivery was initially promised for mid April, but that timeline quickly slipped. I reached out via email and was told on both May 2 and May 13 that my order would ship "any day now." A tracking number was finally issued on May 24, with the shipment arriving at USPS on May 28. As of today, June 10, I still have not received my package. What's more concerning is that if these plants were dug in April, and only shipped nearly a month later, it's unlikely they are still viable, especially given the perishable nature of live plants/roots. That reality not only undermines the project we had planned but also represents a serious lapse in transparency and customer service. This experience has been deeply disheartening and frustrating. I cannot recommend TN Nursery to others, especially not for time sensitive educational purposes. Unfortunately, this ended up being a significant waste of both time and money. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I ordered 28 bare root red cedar trees and 12 loblolly pines 10-3-21. After I finally received all the trees that I ordered, as they had screwed up the order from the beginning, I planted them as instructed. The next spring all were dead. The nursery replaced them the fall of 2022 (10-18) and I planted them again as instructed. These were all dead by Spring, so I contacted the nursery in May and was told to wait longer as they might be late developing this year. Unfortunately after a few more months, the trees still did not show any signs of life. I contacted the nursery in October (2023) and inquired about getting a refund. I was told that they don't offer refunds, but that I would be able to get an instore credit to use towards other trees, but first I needed to do scratch tests on the trees to prove they were dead and take pictures to send to them. I did as instructed, and then was told the trees are beyond warranty. $440 down the drain and no trees. BUYER BEWARE, IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, ALL CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ONLINE ONLY! read more

I was looking to add a few more little things to several tiny terrariums and fairy gardens I started with my teenage son and daughter last year. We were so happy with the selection! The pictures are perfect and clearly labeled. Easy to filter to find exactly the color, size, shade, grow zone... everything. So browsing was fun & easy. I especially like it shows what to expect upon delivery & all of the flowers' details listed there. The customer reviews are very helpful. Checking out could not be simpler. There is even a chat-help icon that helped me with a 'buy one get one FREE!' on everything that was in my cart! My entire order of 6 live flowering plants, shipping and delivered to my home and with taxes included was just over $30.00! I was really extremely impressed and surprised to see that it was so easy and really so perfect. I enjoyed just browsing through the site. And will definitely be posting again to share with you and tell you what I receive. But the experience so far has been EASILY a 5 Star read more

Horrible customer service. I have ordered from online nurseries and had great experiences. Nothing but false advertising from TN Nursery. They will not cancel my order within 24 hours like they advertise. So the trees shipped and once they arrived I opened them to find I received Virginia Pines, not Eastern White Pines. I immediately notified them and they asked did you tell us this within 24 hours? So then I said yes I emailed right when I opened the box. They refused a refund and claim they mislabeled the trees and I should have planted them. Well I didn't because Virginia Pines are terrible for my yard and not what I wanted. I can't trust them as they falsely advertise. Now I have 13 dead trees that were put in dirt when they said they were mislabeled. I have no idea what trees I have. They lost my trust when they would not uphold their cancellation policy and attack my reviews with blaming me for not planting them due to their misleading business processes. read more

So the time has finally arrived. I know this might shock some people, but having to dig through a foot of snow and a half inch of frozen ground to plant a tree did not give good results. Instead of shipping in the 7 to 10 days they said, shipping 2 months later was not conducive to an Ohio transplant season. I had an arborist and two very skilled horticulturists look at these when I got them. They all agreed we were shipped dead sticks. But we put them in the ground with all the required hope. And, of course, dead sticks don't grow into fruit trees. All 6 are worthless. So I go to see the refund policy. And now it seem it is only "good for store credit". Maybe it always was, but that is nuts. If I lived closer I would sue them. I was a lawyer I would forma a class suit. If I was the state attorney general I would prosecute these criminals. They are soo wiling to give you 6 dead sticks for the price of 3 pawpaw trees. What a deal. read more

Wish I had searched for reviews about this company before buying anything from them. Everything stated by others about this company is true. Hidden in their "warranty" page is clause that they can send you anything they want essentially. They claim equal or grater, but what I received was a common grass plant rather than the more expensive plant I ordered. They will only offer store credit, but if you buy anything from them with such credit, you would have to keep in mind the substitution clause. If you read their reviews and their reply across the net, it is painfully obvious that this "business" is just scamming people out of their money. They took one customer to court for a review years ago (and lost) and have threatened people with ruining their credit by filing false unpaid debt claims and using collection agents to hunt them down and harass them. Both of these are violation of the law. read more
