She teaches all her students proper classroom etiquette as well as proper classical ballet technique. She is always expanding her knowledge of new and innovative ways of teaching and she aims to tailor her critiques to the individual to help each person be able to excel. She is an amazing teacher who's love for ballet shines when she instructs. She is great with kids too and accommodates ballet training appropriately. She also teaches an adult stretch class and she incorporates improv into the children's/teen classes as well which I've seen a little bit of and they adore it! I've so enjoyed taking classes here in the small cozy studio, as new students of any age are always welcome, I immediately felt at home when I started.

But sometimes the new people who occasionally come in to take over a production are not very professional, and unfortunately the quality of the production suffers, which I have seen on several occasions. Most of their client are over the age of 60, so if you are going to start seeing shows there, don't expect anything too contemporary or unusual. The theater itself is comfortable and newly refurbished with new seats and paint, and the stage is a decent size. I have had a lot of fun times at The Stage. Some of the more fun shows are in their Children's Theater, which always bring in tons of kids. I would recommend it more for families to come see the children's theater than some of the mainstage productions!

My daughter especially looked forward to playing the theater games and participating in the improv exercises, which we were so fortunate to witness firsthand at the end of session showcase. She then worked in the next age group up with Andrew in the spring and had another great experience! After bouncing around to a number of theaters and acting programs on Long Island, we are so happy we found the Lawton Academy. Both Katie and Andrew have demonstrated a real vested interest in nurturing my daughter's love for the performing arts, and I am truly excited to see how she will continue to grow and develop under their guidance. They are in two different classes and Katie influenced my 6 year old so much. We find ourselves playing some of the games at home before bedtime. My 8 year old enjoyed working on remembering lines and performing with a partner he loved the friends he got to work with. My daughter started OKP at 20 months, and I was a nervous wreck. She cried for the first week at…read moredrop off, but was all smiles at the end of the day. I am very particular with everything I do, much less my daughter, so this was a huge step for me to allow someone else control. OKP was everything I was hoping for in a child care establishment. They are attentive and communicative. I can call anytime of day and speak to my daughters teacher or an administrator. No one is perfect, but OKP comes very close. The children are learning and having a great time doing so. My daughter who will be 2.5yo in 2 months and she absolutely loves going to school. I can see the joy on her face when we talk about how her day was. I am currently expecting another bundle of joy, and safe to say we will be adding another student to the OKP Roster.
