Service was very quick, but the manicure was not done very well. I know regular polish isn't as smooth as gel, but the coats are very uneven around the edges and it looks lumpy on my nail. It was only $20 but I feel like I should've just done them myself at home and I would've had a similar result. It also was not very gentle. I know the cuticle trimming & pushing is never comfortable but it hurt. I hate giving negative reviews but I just have to be honest, I will not be returning here.
Just coming back to say Nancy still knows how to deliver! Service is still fantastic and techs are great. They even stayed late to give my niece a pedicure right before our winter trip (thank you Helen)! Always a great experience.
Went on a Sunday afternoon. Called. No appt needed. Male nail technician did my French gel manicure. I am not a profession nail tech... price point was good $35 plus extra $5 for French. So total with tip $48. If I feel I need it redone by next day I spent way too much to have them done. While doing my nails I pointed out few times about some of the gray color that didn't come off from previous nail polish. There's a line on the tip of my white French that's gray or different color as seen in pic. (And yes it bothers me)!! Maybe language barrier..... 4 nails on left hand and 1-2 on right nails needs to be redone!! If you're like me and a bit ocd and pay attention to details... prob not the right guy/place for you. There are bubbles, lint, bumpy nails, corner/ends that are cracked/lifted. Middle finger where he had to add a tip I'm pretty sure the tips supposed to be glued down to my real nail enough that particles aren't getting stuck inbetween within the first 24 hours or at all. From afar it looks decent and I like the how he shapped most the nails. Reason for 2 stars... I saw 2 ppl getting pedicures seemed nice and long. I would consider maybe going for a pedi spa... One of the pedicure customers complains about color/nail design and was also saying to wipe it off she would just pay for the pedicure only... Do ppl usually go/call back and ask them to fix it?
If I can do 0 stars I would !! First time client and last !!! I went to this establishment on a Monday after all a long morning of appointments . I work Hard and it's been a minute that I actually pampered myself . I went to be thrifty (like a consignment store) a couple doors down . And bought work clothes. 4 bags to be exact! I don't want to look like a bag lady so I consolidate the bags (2 and 2 together for a total of 2 bags in the 2 bags (tying them inside the bag) I walked in to be nails And asked for a pedi and mani(ended up with spa mani and pedi) then I ask tech if they do massages and she said no they do facials with a little massage ! Great she called another tech ( Heidi or HA) and she told me the price $80 for facial with a little massage. I was done with pedi and mani and move to another station before entering facial room that is small like 8x10 and full of the equipment so could only bring my book Bag (with personal belongings) and not my just bought clothes in the big bags ! So I asked the tech if this is a safe place to leave bags and she said "is ok Honey" well it wasn't ! I'm now getting a facial , the shop is closed (Kathy forget her phone and Heidi let her back in through the back door that is supposedly locked ) I didn't think anything of it ... they are cameras I thought and I'm in my room not dressed with a steam machine on my masked face... as I hear them Out of the door and a bag rattling and a door shut.then Heidi or Ha comes back to finish facial . At this time is already almost 9:00 ish . I get dressed paid for All my services and tips for both Girls , as you see with photos I cashed out at the front .. we both leave , Heidi locks door .. and I'm Carrying bags that a bit off but heavy and don't think anything of it.... Even though Heidi makes a weird comment of " oh honey as I am looking in bags and not noticing the change ... you lift weights honey ... and I reply yeah cause bags are heavy .... And we go on our ways .... When I get home I take all my things out and notice an entire bag was missing ... called the shop spoke to a handful of people , staff , Heidi and Kathy ... and also ask for footage ... I got some footage but not all was sent but enough to catch a "thief" so even though I asked and asked if they know where my bag is , they responded " nobody touch anything honey , sorry you lost your bag honey , sorry ! Love you ok honey" well here the pic , with my stolen bag , next to thief that "love me so much honey" do not trust this shop! Do not leave anything of value in attended not even to restroom , this I'm sure is not the first time! These people work in groups !! Because no one has addressed this issue since I sent them the evidence ! So either this is heide"s or Ha's or Kathy's place and you really don't care what get stolen from your customers or is your shop and you all been doing this for A while!! I spent a lot of money that day, paid them well for their services and tip them well and still you steal from Me ! Not sure if I will report this to the cops , I say if you must steal the clothes I just bought and shoes and work outfits , you must need them . To be honest she played the single mom card and I let my guard down. Don't!!!! And watch out !! Not a honest salon !! But attach is the "my bag that no one claimed they saw ! Especially Heidi who was last captured with" how to improve yelp you ask? Stop the alleged stealing !!!! Ps my nails already started to chip !!!! And not the best job!! My total for spa pedi/mani $67 tip (Kathy ) $20 Venmo my facial with a 30 min massage in $80 facial and $50 for mini massage and tip $50 ( played into "I'm a single mom bit" ) never again!! Trust no one!!
*I would like to say Moon gets a 4 star in my book, but other things caused this experience a 1 star overall.* 12/3/22 Is it to be or not to be? Well this is certainly the question. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I wanted try them out. I have visited this store several months earlier, but wasn't able to make an appointment until today. To be it is. The store was pretty busy when I arrived, but a lady in a red shirt just happened to be available. The lady's name is Moon. Moon reminded me of some use to see at Mavana Nails. Moon did a fantastic job, but I must confess I wasn't sure of her abilities for the first half of the session. I shit up and let her work her magic and everything came out fine. Yes, it is to be on Moon doing my nail. Yes, it is to be on Moon massaging my feet. Moon did a wonderful job removing the dead skin off my diabetic dry feet. I love how Moon removed the dead skin between my fingers nails that were causing me issues. If I had ripped out the dead skin, it would have cause my fingers to bleed. I don't need that. I would love to say I would be coming back hers; however, it is not to be. NOT TO BE: There is a lady I saw in a green shirt washing some tools Moon used. She used the scrub brush to possibly clean the foot Spa. Definitely used hand soap to scrub the foot tools and put the back in a drawer. These tools were not sanitized the proper way when makes me question the cleanliness of other tools that were used on me. These thoughts are running through my head as I write this review out. *The magic Moon did on me is the only reason reason this salon receives a 1 star review. Ms. Tuyet aka Manager, Ms. Moon, does deserve a a 5 star rating herself. She has earned this from me. * The store looks great, feels great and is playing Christmas music 24 7. Yet none of that matters now. I was going to do full leg waxing, but was informed this isn't an option for guys. Another not to be moment. The is a slim chance of me coming back here. Just keep in mind that others will be watching how your employees tools get cleaned. Failure to do so will result in unpleasant consequences.
This is my go to nail spot in the DMV area. Every single person has been so meticulous with my nails, and I've never walked away disappointed. I recently got a gel full set done, and it is the best full set I've ever had. My nails normally start lifting after a week with powder or acrylic, but these babies have stayed on and are strong still after two weeks (see photo). I'm going to get the same set again next time I go! I'd also like to mention that I've gotten my nails done by almost every employee, and everyone has been so great. My favorite has to be Na though. She's fun and does a super great job every time!!
ToBe Nails is now my go-to place for both manicures and pedicures. I normally don't get manicures because I have short nail beds and previous experiences didn't leave me with a great impression to keep at it. I decided to give it a try, and let me tell you, Nancy brought my nails back to life. Gel tap is the new "A-game" when it comes to getting gel. I've seen her for the past 3-4 months and my nails have survived, lasted longer than expected, never broke a nail, and even my sister still thinks to this day I have fake nails on. Nancy knows exactly how to make your nails look natural and not that "cakey/thicky" looking kind of manicure. For those looking for longer lasting manicures, visit ToBe Nails and let Nancy do her "thang!"
I've been twice too this salon and I really like it! I've gotten my nails done both times by Nancy, who is very professional and does a great job, taking her time/ not rushing. I usually get gel or dip but wanted something different - she suggested getting TAP gel as a healthier alternative to acrylic. They turned out beautifully and have held up well for ~4weeks (see 3rd photo). Otherwise, the salon is quiet and they have a good selection of colors, and I like that they offered me tea with my pedicure. I will definitely return!
This is my new go-to nail salon in the area! I've been here a few times and the service is always amazing. The technicians are highly professional and really take the time to take care of your needs. If you're into nail art, Na is the person to go to. She is really sweet and does really great work. The prices are really good for what you get. Definitely recommend this place and I'll be returning in the future.
ToBe Nails just opened a couple of months ago in Annandale. I started going to this nail salon because of Nancy. She is one of the nail technicians there. I have been following Nancy for a few years now. Annandale is a little far from my place, but I don't mind making a trip to get my nails done by one of the best nail technicians in our area. She gives 110% and makes sure her clients are happy when they leave the salon. I am always showing her different nail designs that I want to get done at each visit and she always makes sure she can get that done even when sometimes she has to purchase additional colors or tools for it. She is always up for the challenge and has never disappointed me. Her dip nail techniques are the best and they last for 3-4 weeks and sometimes almost 5 weeks. Keep up the good work, Nancy!! Thank you for the best Mani/Pedi.
Thank goodness for ToBe Nail Salon!! For as long as I've lived here, I've been desperate for a decent nail salon in the Annandale. These guys just had their grand opening yesterday and I was SO impressed! First and foremost, their team was so kind and caring. Everything is brand new, from the interior to the massage chairs and supplies. Their prices were *very* reasonable, if not a few dollars cheaper than what I typically have seen. ($30 for a spa pedicure, $50 for a deluxe with paraffin foot treatment, leg scrub, hot stone massage, and two rounds of hot towel wraps). Furthermore, they did SUCH careful, detail-oriented, and attentive work. I'm embarrassed to say this was only my second pedicure since COVID, but they got my feet baby-soft and neat n' pretty with expert care.. The massage chair and the foot and leg massage were glorious. The team member who did the pedicure - I believe her name was Tammy? - put in a notable amount of effort to make sure every part of my toes looked perfect. They have an excellent selection of gel and regular polish - all of it appeared to be brand-new OPI bottles. They didn't seem to have a range of scents/customized scrub or foot treatments but what they used worked great and smelled nice. The only two suggestions I might make would be playing music since it was a bit awkwardly quiet (I could see on the giant TVs their Christmas playlist had ended) and perhaps using the prepackaged, sterilized nail tools (but I know that can be really expensive, and everything was visibly sterilized and clean!) I plan on becoming a regular customer - so happy Annandale finally has a top-notch salon!
I've been to ToBe three times now and I've had a wonderful experience each visit. I've had pedicures, manicures. dip nails, gel nails and nail art. Vincent has been my tech and he does a great job at suggesting things that end up looking great. The nail extensions last over three weeks with no chips or issues and I'm very pleased which the entire salons professionalism as well as their pricing.

Absolutely love the staff here. They're very friendly and personalable. I brought my 5month old and every one was mindful as well respectful. They made sure my husband and I were comfortable. The music wasn't loud and the salon felt peaceful (like a nice spa day). I did a spa pedicure which comes with paraffin wax, clay masque and stone massage. The extra massage is worth it. You can nicely ask for a little more pressure. My husband loves it! He even included a hand massage for extra cost. The cats eye polish has been soo appealing for that wet look. So I did that for my toes and mani. It was worth it. Loving my christmas look! read more

I get hybrid gel nails instead of regular acrylic or dip. It lasts so much longer, feels sturdy and have never broken a nail. Highly recommend! read more

This review is for a Lazy Nail tech name Katie, who I had a bad experience with, as a new customer. The 2 stars is for cleanliness of the shop & the other nail tech, who fixed up my mani. I made an appointment to give this place a try, as a first time customer. I was assigned to a Nail Tech name Katie ( short bowled haircut & a Rose tattoo ) for a Gel Mani. The shop is clean, along with new Products. My Gel Mani with Katie did NOT go so well. I told her that I don't like cuticles on the corner of my nails. Her replied to that was "oh I know, I know " like she doesn't like to be told what to do, which I understand but really though she missed so much spots. Then she began to applied the Gel nail polish on so SLOPPY ! Afterwards I ask her to clean up on the edges & it still looks wavy & Sloppy ! This was the Worst Gel Mani I've have gotten ! Later that day I called back & ask for a redo, luckily another Different nail tech. The other 2 different Nail Tech was mortified by Katie's Botched work ! I have to give this star for the other nail tech that took her time to fix up Care-less Katie's sloppy work. I will give this place another try by a different nail tech, the one that fixed my gel mani. Be aware of getting your nails done here by Katie, who didn't want to correct her own Botched up work. read more

I have been following Nancy for over 12 years now! She is amazing and always does an incredible job. She takes her time and does exactly what you want. The salon is brand new and very pretty. I'm so glad she came back to Annandale since its closer to my house. I always get gel done which lasts me a few weeks. The massage chairs while you get a pedicure is so wonderful and doesn't hurt like other places I always leave feeling like a brand new person! read more

Never AGAIN! I would like to share my horrible experience with this nail salon. I went there twice. First time was about 2 weeks ago. I wanted to try acrylics with a coffin shape. The final result was a disaster ( see pictures attached) Omg they were thick, uneven and didn't look anything like on the picture I showed to Vinh ( nail technician which a colleague of mine recommended). He did such a sloppy job! I was unhappy with the final result and posted the pictures on yelp. Vinh was begging me to delete them claiming that it will cost him a job. ( in return promising a refund and fixing my nails) . I was feeling sorry for a guy and decided to give him a second chance. So 5 days ago I stopped by at the salon second time. Vinh started working on my nails and claiming that he can't completely redo them due to lack of time and advised to change the shape from coffin to almond and try deep powder instead. I agreed. I will be honest, the final result look much better than his first try but still desire improvement ( pictures attached). So today, one of the nails fell and when I reached out to Vinh he not only refused to fix it but also started to blame me. UNACCEPTABLE! And very disrespectful! Apparently it is my fault because I didn't wanna use the drill machine on my nails. I have very sensitive nails and drilling them was painful and would completely destroy my nail beds. But he had filed them ( just not with the machine) and the surface of the nails looked rough enough to do acrylics. In addition, he told me that he is fully booked for the next 5 days and I should go somewhere else to fix it which will cost me $5. YEAH, I will definitely do that. Not wasting my time, energy and money on this place. And by the way, he offered to wait a month to resolve this issue when his manager comes back from a vacation. The WORSE customer service and very POOR quality of work. I will not return to this establishment and do not recommend. read more

I love ToBe Nails and I go regularly. Vincent is the best and he always finds time to take care of me. He does an incredible spa pedicure and fantastic nail art. He is so creative! They have great prices. I am a very happy customer. read more

Hello, it was my first time getting my nails done at this location and I would not recommend. I came with my friend and they did ok on her nails but then when it was time for me to do my nails the whole process was a mess. The shape and length of each nail was different and the nail polish was a complete mess. Idk what he did but I started bleeding at some point. He asked if I wanted to redo a nail because I really didn't like it and so he redid it but it still wasn't good. There is glue and acrylic all over my fingers towards the end which he didn't bother to clean up. Overall, this wasn't my best experience and will not be going back to this establishment. read more

I've always been more than satisfied with the nails I get done at ToBe Nails! I have been getting my nails done with Nancy for years and I've NEVER been disappointed :) I got acrylics done for the first time in years and they came out better than I could've ever expected. If there's one thing Nancy can do is always give you what you want! read more

ToBe is such a great experience, the staff is always welcoming and friendly. I get my acrylics done here ever since they opened and they never fail to satisfy ! I've been to ToBe Nails and Spa twice now and both times the staff were friendly and professional. Nancy went above and beyond to make my experience great. She did a great job on my nails. She also worked with me to get an appointment time that worked for me. When I asked for a design on my nails that took a little more time and a lot of effort she happily did it and it was a work of art. This is my new favorite nail place. read more
