Best Gyro in TC! Nothing else comes close! Have not had one this good since I lived in Chicago.

They did apologize for what it's worth. The menu was appealing with just enough offered. To start the meal, the salad ($15) was ordered. It was made up of romaine, sweet corn, radish, orange, pepitas, pickled red onion, beans, queso fresco, and a creamy citrus vinaigrette. The salad appeared very fresh with a light dressing aspect. I did not think I would like the oranges, but they were a nice touch. Everything really went well with one another. I had one of each of their tacos ($5 each). One of them was out, so I was unable to try them all unfortunately. My thoughts on each are below. All of their tortillas were homemade and of good size. They seemed to be in the middle of a street and normal size taco. Each taco was also stuffed. Pollo - This was with a chicken tinga, garlic cilantro sauce, pickled onion, corn nut, and cilantro. This was alright. For some reason, it reminded me of a curry. I suppose it was coming from the tinga flavor profile from the chicken? Not sure. Carne Asada - This came with mojo de ajo steak, smoked jalapeno crema, fingerling potato chip, pickled onion, and cilantro. This had good flavor with a nice cook on the steak. The smoked jalapeno crema was unique and tasty. Panza - This was a taco with crispy pork belly, Morita gastrique, pickled apple and jicama, chicharrónes, and cilantro. This was my favorite one. There was a sweet and spicy factor from the Morita, which was great and I really enjoyed it. The pork belly was very flavorful and was cooked ideally too. Pescado - This had a fried mahi piece, red cabbage slaw, mint, orange, avocado crema, house hot sauce, and cilantro. This was way too sweet. There was a nice fry on the mahi and of good size, but it was far too sweet for me. There needed to be more hot sauce. Shrimp - This had achiote marinated shrimp, house hot sauce, lime crema, crispy carrot, and cilantro. This was decent. There were three large shrimp present. I just was not too high on the shrimp seasoning as something threw me off. Will I go back? Yeah, I would.

My mind was absolutely blown…read more I love Northern Michigan for a number of reasons, but I never imagined I'd include Mexican food to the list. This place definitely is an undiscovered gem. We ordered the fajitas, a burrito, and tried the famous white fish taco. I mean- White fish taco sounds good, but there was something truly magical about that experience. I'm struggling to put it into words even now. You just have to eat it to believe. Honestly, the location for this place seems terrible. You'd never know it was there unless you went out of your way looking for it. It's hidden in a largely empty plaza, and I drove the car past three times before we finally spotted it. We placed our order at the front before seating ourselves. The employees were incredibly friendly and helpful as we decided what we wanted to order. The food came out hot and amazing. Oh it was such a surprise and comfort. I just really wish they offered horchata. l was just really in the mood for a horchata to complete my meal, and this would make it a homerun for me. But the food was so rewarding, I can get over myself. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town. Baby Tag Along Edition: Bringing in a carseat for our little one was easy enough. There are tables inside to eat and plenty of space for us to bring the carseat inside with us. I only wish they offered the Carseat Cradle that would let baby sit with us at eye level.

Barrio is a must-visit spot while in Traverse City. Although it originally hails from Cleveland…read more(which we've also visited), the flavors and service have carried over beautifully to Michigan. The vegan options here are fantastic. I love that I can choose the Thai chili tofu as my protein, and it's actually good tofu -- firm, crispy, and flavorful instead of the usual mushy version you find elsewhere. The customization is another huge plus. You can load your tacos with far more than the standard lettuce and tomato, choosing from a variety of slaws, salsas, sauces, and toppings. My personal favorite combination is the Dirty Sauce (definitely spicy, so be warned!) with lettuce, poblanos, onions, and the corn mix. The tacos are generously sized, so 2-3 will leave you completely satisfied, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. This is also a perfect place for larger groups or families. We have friends who love bringing their kids because everyone can fill out their own order form and customize exactly what they want. I have to recommend the salsa roja and chips as an app. It's easily one of my favorite salsas. It has the perfect consistency with just the right balance of spice and sweetness. We love coming here and highly recommend giving it a try. You won't be disappointed!

The margaritas were tasty, as well as our appetizers, the Tres Amigos. We built our own tacos from a list, very cool. Everything was fresh, delicious, and the portions were large.
